What's funny is that I figured out how to gear drift before knowing how to do the standard drifting. Thanks to this vid I know how to do standard drifting. 🙏🏼 Thanks for the explanation mate. 1:06
I know this is just the basics on gear drifts, but you dont even need to straighten out to chain gear drifts, the moment the car faces completely forward with the camera in a countersteer out of a corner you hit another gear drift and it acts like a new drift. There's also some weird shenanigans you can do knowing this, time trial pros just go full speed through the final corners of SP 5E by countersteering out of the first hairpin very early and using a chained gear drift to not hit the wall, the car will magically straighten out tho its def not as simple in execution.
Seems like it's less buttons but needs to be much faster than the gear drifting in Daytona! I'll have to remember this when I finally get my Xbox and can play this game. It keeps staring at me from the shelf! Great stuff Alex!
I love that you used the term picosecond! I use that term too sometimes! It's funny and clearly means you have to do it fast I never gear drifted in outrun 2. Never tried manual gears for that matter Played it many many times, even many games of 8 player system link! Which is about as much fun you can have gaming. period. Thanks for this golden tip, baddy! And also thanks for the way you play it. Really helps to know how a pro does things! You know that on the og xbox version as well as obviously the pc version you can easily swap the music. Hrrrm, good question. I'm pretty sure I've done it just using automatic transmission in OutRun Online Arcade, but you can (IIRC) change the difficulty in that. I'm trying to figure something out about the "widescreen" option in OR2 and OR2 SP (and C2C).
