      Well yeah i know but i mean when i try to play like grids or like exercies that revolve around Hertas. They don't sound like a didle.

    • @hazzysoccer19
      @hazzysoccer19 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      well do em slow and correct and when you get that feel then increase the speed.

    • @alexgaeckle1540
      @alexgaeckle1540 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      To tell you the truth i don't feel like i play hertas when i do a triplet check pattern and add in those 16th notes. I feel i'm just playing 8th notes with 16th notes. it's a little confusing to explain but if you saw me play them, you'd probably understand.

      I'd say kaito had probably the I&e solos of the 2010's, he is just amazing and his stick tricks are phenomenal.

    My god I know I'm gonna get killed.... First off, his talent is crazy. The stuff he was doing was 100% bad ass. My negative comment isn't aimed at his talent. But, I do get really bored with snare solos nowadays that just feel like a bunch of fast stuff thrown together with a bunch of visuals and a little buzz section with a few rim clicks. Oh yeah, and the played out "Hi mom" section of every solo now with the same little cross stick visuals. He did expand on that in this solo, and that's a good thing. But, I wish solos felt like a musical piece with thought out musicality. It should almost feel like a song.

      Head_Huncho Thanks. I guess I'm old school and miss it. I don't mind visuals. But, there's just something lacking.

      Gotta remember that I&E isn't their main gig. I think we as listeners forget that these guys are still marching with their perspective drum corps.

      You should check out Ryan Ellis’ 2017 solo. Great musicality in it

  • @stevechrollo8074
    @stevechrollo8074 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    So snare solos are more about tricks and chops than making actual music that’s enjoyable to listen to

      That's about it, though.

    • @stevechrollo8074

      Ryan Stallings that ain’t music then, it’s a sport at best

    • @ryanspercussion
      @ryanspercussion 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Isn't it already pretty antithetical to the idea of music that it's being judged?

    • @ryanspercussion
      @ryanspercussion 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, I didn't really like the structure of the piece or that middle section at 2:57, but it *is* pretty damn clean.

    • @stevechrollo8074
      @stevechrollo8074 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ryan Stallings not really. Everybody judges music or sounds when it comes to our ears. Im saying there is a huge “sports” mentality when it comes to dci snare solos, that is frankly just fast noise and pretty stick tricks to 99% of the population
