Another good video. Like someone else said, the editing or lack of is spot on. It's like we're there with our buddy walking around, and he knows a lot of history about equipment
I believe that may be a 50 AW baler. I think they used Cub power unit engines if I'm not mistaken. There's a video or two floating around on the Tube of one that a guy painted all up and was running.
Awesome video buddy for those of us that couldn’t attend the show ourselves I thank you for taking us along. I can’t really explain it but I’ve always really enjoyed plowing and picking corn. There’s just something about it
You folks have Rantoul and we have the Southeastern Ag Expo in Moultrie Ga. It is a yearly event and a similar setup as both are old air fields. Ours is coming up in mid October. Going to try and go this year. China virus cancelled it last year. They have several hundred acres of crops there too. Peanuts cotton corn beans and hay. Three day event. They don't allow golf carts except for the handicapped but there are lots of shuttles and most is in walking distance. Gonna be good this year I hope...
Ethan, It would be great if sometime your needing some video if you would just do a talk about HCOP for newbies. Such as what to expect if you bring a tractor as far as registration, how to figure out when you can run in the fields, do they assign parking places for tractors and equipment, how does the parade work, ect just all the little details. I would love to come but having never been it is pretty overwhelming for a newbie and not a lot of info on their website.
That ground looks like what we have around here. Small window to work it. Too wet and you will fight clods all year, too dry and you won't get a plow to suck in, and if it does, it's stuck, or will trip. Usually around here any ground that gets plowed is plowed in the fall and allowed to set all winter before worked down
It’s all spoils from when they did all the excavation for the runways so most of it was subsoil to begin with. It’s a different type of dirt that’s for sure.
I myself love those old balers, have about 12 in my collection. Have most in usable condition. Often wonder why IHC wire tie balers leave such a long pigtail on the bale wire. Have a 45 here that I still use on occasion. Thanks for the video as we couldn't make it there in person. @@Oliver66FarmBoy
Quite a few Farmers in S.C. plant what has become Known as Deer Corn......We can shot deer over Bait. the whole season (8/15 thru to the First of Jan so there is a good market for it.......Pickers With husking beds are popular.....Only problem is that if you label it as Deer corn instead of Ear corn.... the Game people get involved with the sale regulations...... another problem is that Racoons and squirrels will scatter the pile over a half acre......
Can't wait to go back. Do you know why the show is every other year? I assume it has something to do with the setup. I am 45 now and can remember as a kid people using corn pickers. I guess that makes me old because I can remember all this from my childhood. It sure takes me back. Thanks for sharing!
Was my first time out to Rantoul. I definitely plan on going back and taking equipment to work next time. Thanks for the video. I got some picker video, but didn't get to see the mounted 880 run. Glad you got it. Thanks!
Thanks for filming this. I was going to do something similar, but that fell through. Did Jake get his White hydraulic line fixed by chance? I think Nate blew a line while driving it if I remember correctly.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy how Do you now the Donner bill donner at that with his big tractor have you been at flag day before in three oaks I like your video keep up the good work man

That one must have worked since it was full of straw. It was straight.

Picking corn is fun.
I like the way you did the editing, or not editing, whichever way it was. This was more like being there IMO.
Thanks

It’s no different than any other show. Show up. Get a copy of the schedule and pretty much do what you want after that.
you’ve done the best coverage of that show,, good job!
Thanks
Do you ever come up to Michigan for any of the Gas Tractor shows?
Ethan awesome video as always. Thanks for taking the time to video rantoul. Keep them videos coming and stay safe my friend 😎🌞👍

Nice video, I have never been to the Half Century of Farm Progress show
I believe I seen one of those IH balers yesterday on Messick’s Equipment TH-cam channel. Lots of neat equipment there. One day I will make it there.
Wish they would have ran it. Those old hammer head wire balers are neat.

The ass end of that pickup in the air with the quick hitch hungup on the dock would of been some good footage🤣🤣
It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.
Good video. Thanks for taking the time.

The Oliver was just biting to disc that field. Nice show so far. Things look a lot better with a full stomach.
Yep
I’ll bet that first guy on the Deere over greased his slip clutch..?

That was a nice outfit
That’s a big convoy of trucks
There was a few.
Nice video do they just combine corn or do they combine small grains also just curious I don’t know
They have beans they cut as well.
Did Oliver have a corn sheller? I've seen JD's, MM's IH's but never seen an Oliver!
Yea. 1210.

The American flag on the disk makes it all worth it

Looks like a logistical cluster up, if you know what I mean.
It’s not bad.

What engine does the red dually have?
