Got off US Navy active duty in 1976, went to work at a garlic company in central CA, 2nd day on the job, helped a 80 year old tractor mechanic split a JD 4020, changed some bearings and some gears. Back together in 3 days and I was told to "test it out". I really learned something working in that shop... I missed the Navy... retired Navy at 20 years in '92. Thanks Jason!
Ford and Massey Ferguson were the main tractors in use on the farms around where i live. There were a couple John Deere tractors as well. We grew up and worked small farms for most of my life. Great videos, love to watch.
Just put this on for my 2 year old son. He basically shouted at the tv in excitement for 15 minutes straight 😆 looks like we’ll be visiting some farming events sometime soon!
The 1100 and 1130 Massey's remind me of my early days farming with pops. We had two 1135 Massey tractors and two 750 Massey combines on about 300 acres of ground. This was around 1996-1997. The Perkins diesels were some of the first ones I worked on.
awesome video , so thanks / seeing the Oliver model 1950, and hearing the ole 2 cycle diesel brings back great memories of being on the farm with my grandparents in the 70's and 80's until they retired in 1987 / they had a farm in Beaver Crossing Nebraska, and all they had was Oliver equipment, and they had 2 of these model 1950's in his shed along with an Oliver 7800 combine with an 4 row corn head... / So, thanks for bringing up awesome childhood memories..
@@bigtractorpower I saw in someone else’s video that your Steiger was originally purchased at Warner’s Turbo Shop. They were located west of Kewanee, Illinois. Pearl Warner was the owner. Back in the 70’s I worked for a JD dealership in Annawan and I delivered a new 7700 Turbo combine to them. They traded in an older 7700 gas. Back in the day, Pearl would be plowing with the latest model Steiger at the Farm Progress Show.
This is an awesome video! Very good representation of the progression of plows over the years. I wonder what the old timers would say if they could see this? Some of those onland plows can do in one round what it took them half a day to do with their horse.
I was very pleased to see the Massey ferguson 1100 and 1130 and what I noticed was how much quieter the Perkings engines was compared to the Deere and Internationals
It was fun. I disked with the Tiger. The farmer with Cougar II plowed with the Tiger to see how the two tractors differed. I think he is looking for a Tiger now to go with the Cougar 😁
Hard to imagine this as "farm equipment" really being so massive "more like mining equipment!" Makes my old Class 8 truck driving days seem pretty weak absolutely but with one exception. That operation had a Peterbilt with 7 million miles on it.
Another great video BTP! Got a nice clip of me at 13:02 plowing, that's twice I've seen me on your channel, Lol. Always a great time at that show. I liked the 220 AC and the 6030 Deeres, I spoke with the owner of the 220, nice guy, lots of nice people there. Looking forward to 2023
Awesome One Ninety XT. It was great to catch 3 AC tractors plowing this year. The Two Twenty is a beast. I remember filming the One Ninety XT in 2015 and thinking this tractor hands down is out plowing the 4020, 806 and 1850 tractors.
Great clip, probably the Big Jonny 6030 would be the favorite but plenty of others. Just one observation, I thought a lot of the tractors were being driven too fast, most could come back a gear or two and just let the plough's do their work and I think easier on the machines all round but it makes for good viewing with plenty of wheel slip, cheers from Adelaide, Australia.

I am in Scotland and a lot off these tractor models I have not seen before. A lot probably were made just for USA. I have a 1955 Fordson Diesel Major which I have been restoring slowly. I also have a 2017 EU Polaris diesel Ranger. Seemed to be a lot of what we call UTV's running around on the field. I liked the editing that put up name and HP etc. Keep up the good work. M
Now THAT is how to get a field plowed quickly!! I'm definitely not a fan of bigger is better. The tandem Farmalls were definitely my favorite. Green tractors sound weird.
I'm partial to the 1150 Versatile since I worked for a dealer for several years but that Kinze repowered Deere really tripped my trigger! The 8020 Deere was pretty cool too, gotta love those screamin' demons. Come to think of it there was an Screamin' Oliver too.

That tandem 880 was cool as hell. You were really big time at 110 horse back in the late 50s when that thing was put together. And that’s a rather conservative estimate cause if they had M&W kits installed you could have been upwards of 130-135 horse with built motors in both tractors. That was rivaling a lot of the 4 wheel drives of the day at probably half the cost or so.

It was great that they were at the show this year. The last row crop Massey I saw plowing at this show was in 2015.

Plowing is one of my favorite things to film. I grew watching every farm plow and now it is a rare sight.

I guarantee that kta in that versatile is cranking out around 600+ hp but the trq that 1150 cubic inch Cummins has is insane

It was great to see the 7060 at the show. AC had a decent showing this year plowing. I did not film any AC tractors in 2019 at the show.
