I subscribed when I was in high school because I wanted an academic career in bio. Now I'm studying biotech and now that I'm in break, you're videos bring me straight back to the campus labs :) I would also love to see that video on differences in PhD programs!

Hello from Cambridge. It's nice to know that a fellow Malaysian is doing well in Cambs. On the subject of your PhD application, fret not. Remind yourself that you are an Imperial grad and a Camb researcher! You'll land yourself a dream PhD programme eventually. Good luck and looking forward to vids of your PhD journey.

Hi Vy! I'm a new subscriber. I really like your vlogs and tips videos, thank you for sharing your life in a very entertaining way.
Getting accepted is a combination of luck and match. I got accepted into a PhD after applying more than 25 times. The positions I thought were really suit me did not accept me, and the one I got accepted was quite a surprise to me because at first I thought I was only partially qualified for it.
Good luck and keep your spirit in applying for a PhD!

@@biomedwithvy No worries. Don't be discouraged if you get an interview invitation but haven't been choosen yet. Consider the past interviews are trainings for the next one.
I'm sure you'll get accepted eventually, because your ability to describe yourself are very good!
Even though I'm not so experience, feel free to chat whenever you need it.

Hello Vy 👋 another super cool video 😊 I am going to study MSc Regen Medicine this September in the UK. Can I ask you how did you prepare to study Masters? What did you do in the summer before you started the course? And how were you mentally prepared as well? Thanks in advance!! !

Ahh thank you and congrats on the offer! 😊 To be completely honest, I didn't prepare a lot academically. I mostly read through some of my university notes briefly and tried to keep up to date with some of the current science through social media. I spent a lot of time with my family back home and took up some freelancing projects to expose myself to other careers. I took the time to rebuild hobbies too hahaa. I hope you get a good rest before the Msc workload kicks in!

@@biomedwithvy Thank you so much for your reply Vy 😊 I will try to get some rest before starting my MSc 😅From your experience, is your course workload heavy? Is it possible to do some part-time job while studying the 1 year full-time course? Or you have to dedicate all of your time to studying and research? Thank you Vy and I hope to hear from u soon !!!

@@cianle5996 there was quite a bit of coursework but I'm a firm believer that it comes down to what you prioritise and whether things outside of uni are as important to you as your research! It is possible to do part time jobs alongside your MSc like tutoring or working at university union shops (where students have more flexible working hours and also shop discounts).
