Grackle Solo travelling with so much confidence is testament to how fighting and challenging anxiety and fear over and over again, eventually leads to it no longer being a fear! So proud of you Grace as I remember how homesick you used to get just being away from the family household for just one night! Go girl 💪❤️ the world is your oyster 🙌🙌🙌
I'm so proud of you Grace, I remember a few years ago when being away from home and your family for a night was such an overwhelming thing for you and now you're a world traveller! Well done for overcoming your fear!
I am both a student at Cambridge and have lived here all my life - it has such a different vibe to anywhere else in the UK, everyone is so friendly and calm, much love for Cambridge
Thank you so much for your new series. I love it and it lets me "visit" places I would never get to see in real life. So much enjoyment. Your are a jewel of a travel guide. Keep it up!
Very helpful video. You are one of two TH-cam bloggers that I always ref prior to travelling (for your frank and unbiased recommendations on both eateries and accommodation) . Also there are four types of hotel, (forgetting the obvious crappy and badly run type!) The old, periodic, gold gilded, ostentatious ones - The plain non descriptive company motorway ones, The privately 'one off' ones, and The modern boutique tasteful furnished interior ones. (The latter being personal preference). Come on hotel chains!.... put some money into it and come out of the dark into the light of the 21st century!.
"Everywhere I looked in Cambridge felt like I was in a movie set. Honestly, (I) can't imagine how it feels to actually go to Cambridge university. That must be so surreal because you're literally where so many people dream to go. And it's just so beautiful, literally, everywhere you turn." Thank you for putting into words how I felt as a Cambridge alum. You have such a good on-screen persona. Keep the videos coming!
Oh dearie ... a walking tour with other people is lots of fun!!! You're very social and friendly, I think you'd have a wonderful time. You hear some very interesting information and people ask questions about things you may not have thought of .... try & get over the trepidation and try one!
Loved this - you should come to Exeter... you drive past it when heading to Cornwall. It's often overlooked for that reason, but it is a beautiful/historic city to live in, as I do, and visit.
Grace and her excellent adventures! Perfect, relaxed, peaceful, interesting browse around beautiful Cambridge. Hot here in Texas too. The pacing of this video was just right for hot weather. Glad you found really good places for meals. The gelato of dreams was a happy surprise. Wonderful video. Thanks, Grace.
Grack, I went to Cambridge for my PGCE and can confirm a trip to Jacks was a regular study break whatever the weather. They even do a secret flavour everyday which you can ask to try! So so glad you loved it 🥰❤️
I cried through most of the vlog 😂😭 I lived in Cambridge as an au pair a while back and I have so much love for that place ♥️♥️ I was so happy there and miss it so much. Thank you for taking me back to all of my favorite places 🥹
I love how you look in that red jumpsuit: you don’t often wear read but it suits you so well. Thank you for showing Cambridge; my travelling years are over, but I like seeing places through other people’s eyes. That app looks so useful!
Grace you must do a free walking your one day!! They're amazing, the guides are so passionate about the place, so many fun facts & recommendations. I do them alone & people generally keep themselves to themselves
I live 45 mins away from Cambridge I have moved this way about 19 years ago as I met my darling husband. I've not been to some of those places you showed . Makes me want to go and explore the city . I've been to a few of the museums . The polar explorer one is on my list. Love your videos. I'm a 43 women and I love how amazing and true you are . God bless.x
Oh Grace, that was so well done! The editing was very good. You showed us so many beautiful places. (And yes, you pronounced poo-TEEN very well. --emphasis on last syllable). Hugs from Canada!
Hi Grace, you should consider visiting some less touristy places in the UK to show everyone what there is to see off the beaten track. I live in Leicester and we have cool museums, the tomb of Richard III, amazing indian food (really unique cuisines like indo chinese and gujarati), The Tiny Bakey (bit of you!), canals and parks, big festivals (like diwali, englands oldest comedy festival and navratri) and we now have the tallest piece of street art in Europe! Happy to show you around if you ever want to come:)
I’m 36 and did my first solo trip a couple months ago to see someone in concert. I went to a museum, stayed for hours! Saw a comedy show. I wish I had the nerve to start doing this earlier! It has now led to me buying VIP tickets to concerts to acts no one else know but me. I’ve started going to movies on my day off. I’ve stopped always trying to look for people to go do things with me because I wanted to do that thing, if I want to go, I go, and if I happen to see someone I know when I get there, even better! 🖤
I’ve been a solo traveller/ gig goer for years. Mostly because I like bands most people don’t have a clue about 😂 It’s very freeing. Love spending time with friends of course, but the ability to just do as you please is great
@@theflowerpots I’m a wheelchair user so it’s not always easy, but in the last 25 years I’ve been to the States and large parts of Europe on my own. I hope you’ll find the confidence one day because it really is a great experience
I have been watching you for years and it is so strange watching you be in Cambridge. That's where I am from and grew up. I loved seeing it through your eyes. I went to school in central Cambridge (Hills Road) and have taken all of this for granted my entire life. I hope you enjoyed yourself. The parking is abysmal though. We tend to use the Park and Ride buses most of the time. 😊
Hi Grace, I discovered you about 2 months ago and I just wanted to let you know, you are my new comfort youtuber. Your videos bring me so much joy. You're such a genuine person and your video are just so warm and cozy 💛
Ah so cool to see you in Cambridge. I have to go to the hospital there so me & my partner always meander around Cambridge, it’s so beautiful. We have also stayed in Hotel Du Vin! Which was amazing. You should come to Norwich, you would love the market. Same deal of most things being shut on Mondays though!! X
My sister worked in Cambridge on her placement year last year and I got to visit her, and it is lovely! We did almost all the things you did, except the one day I was alone when she was working I rented a bike and cycled about by myself (forgot bike shorts so didn't go too far, haha!! Didn't want to flash everyone!!) and found cycle trails and a place to sit and read. We went on a punting boat tour and learned loads of facts so I'd recommend that too! Love the Fitzwilliam museum too, really good.
Hot tip for jacks gelato, if you stand by the window there's a little qr code you can scan and order online and they'll make the ice cream faster for you and just hand it out the window because you don't have to pay anymore 👌
Your hotel room looked over the Dyson engineering centre. Park street car park is the worst car park to go too, purely for how old it is, hence the small spaces. Car parking is extortionate regardless in Cambridge too. Lovely hotel though.
I’m happy you loved the poutine. Makes the Canadian in me feel fuzzy and happy hehe. But if you want the proper poutine you have to have it in Canada specifically Montreal.
So proud of you it feels like an age where solo travel was difficult and caused you not to sleep well and to me- that would taint the trip. I get panicy in new places, I can't stay in a b&b or hostel etc I need to be able to lock the room tight and I'll relax 😂 you should come to Yorkshire sometime. I could be your tour guide 😂 xx
the "pou" in poutine is pronounced like "pu" in pudding and then "tin" like tinfoil, or atleast thats how we say it in montreal which is more frenchy than rest of canada (but also where it originated from so im gonna say it's the correct pronunciation lol). lovely video :)
Smokeworks seems to be hit or miss, certainly was a miss for me. Bread and Meat was great! Highly recommend Maison Clement on Hills Rd, amazing bread and pastries 👌
I am in the US, but used to work for a department out of Toronto. I asked my Toronto coworkers where to get the best poutine, and one said, "Costco!" So I tried it there, and it was pretty good, actually!
I really enjoy these even though I know I will never make it over the pond to visit these places. I would love to see you try the local traditional meals/food of the places you visit and hear your reviews on them :)
Cambridge bikes are a double edged sword. Very often go where they shouldn’t and dangerously.when did you have to start paying to go in Kettles Yard? I’m shocked! 🙈not lived in Cambridge for years.
Cambridge = Morse for me. (If you know you know.) I never made it there but am forever hopeful that I'll be able to. I'm even more determined since getting to share your time there. What a great way to spend 24 hours.
omg yay! I'm so glad you were able to enjoy Cambridge and you literally hit all of my fav spots! if you ever want to visit some Cambridge colleges please let me know :)
I'd love you to mention if there are allergy friendly places? sometimes its hard for us with dietary requirements to find stuff, if you happen to see anything during your exploration id love to know!

As someone who lives in cambridge, just putting it out there that no matter the weather, the queue for Jack's gelato is always mahoooosive!
shut up Lauren, go to Arbury and say that.... Sure the roadmen would like to buy you a gelato
I still have never been there yet and I have lived in Cambridge my whole life. I definitely will be going there eventually though!
