- A productive day in the life vlog of a Research Assistant at Cambridge University ☕🔬👟🌿🍜
Hi everyone 😊 Hope all is good and that you're taking care of yourselves since we're transitioning into the ❄colder❄ months (if it's ☀️warm☀️where you live, hope you're doing well too!). This was a rather productive yet chill Saturday in my life - I met up with an old friend at one of my favourite Cambridge cafes (Hot Numbers)☕, headed to labs to do the typical mouse embryonic stem cell media change🔬, got a workout in at the gym 👟 and ended my day with ramyun and kdrama🍜🇰🇷! Leave a comment if you loved Little Women too 👩👧👧. Hope you enjoy this short little vlog xx

👩🏻🔬 About me:
Hello 👋 My name's Vy and I make videos about pursuing an education and career in STEM 🔬 I'm currently working as a Research Assistant in Cambridge and studied Biomedical Science in the UK 🇬🇧 Science aside, I really enjoy all things creative arts 🎨 This channel is also a place for me to document the little joys in my every day life and my travel adventures 🌎

Hey Vy, I'm currently a year 12 student and I was so lost on what to do in university. Watching your videos made me realise that it wasn't medicine I was interested in but actually biomedical science, it's so full of biology and I love all the little details you include in your videos! Im the eldest sibling in my family, so I had no role model to look up to but then I came across your channel. I think of you as an older sister for guiding us and giving us so many tips. Thank you for sharing all of this with us, looking forward to more videos ❤️
omg this is so sweet of you so say 🥺🥺 I'm glad you're finding your interest and defo more videos to come!
Hey so what did you end up doing?
Thanks so much for putting this together :) Your videos provide aspiring people with a vision for their future by watching someone else do what they may be a little nervous about doing. At least that's what theyre doing for me. Thanks!
this makes me so happy 😊
A beautiful vlog as always♥️
thank youu 🥺🥺
Hello from Homerton! Malaysian here. will visit Hot Numbers. thanks for featuring a nice cafe.
Nice vlog 👍👍👍
thank youu 😊😊
Hiii 👋 really like your videos. I am also working in the field of biomedical science and planning to apply for phd too. Are you thinking of applying this cycle or next cycle?
all the best!! I'm sending in a few applications this cycle to hopefully start next fall 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Hi Vy, I'm a student about to join uni and I would like to ask some advice on applications to imperial college London it's really challenging and confusing rn this would really help x
Hi! Feel free to ask me in the comments here or drop me a message on insta 😊
Hey nice video, if you work as a research assistant in academia, do you use your off hours to prepare labs ?. I'm a university student doing a biomedical emphasis degree and we usually have to plan our labs before hand before entering the lab.
thank you! during my undergrad/postgrad I'd use outside time to plan for labs too, but in my current role I only work a rough 9-5 because my supervisor is the one driving the whole project, and although I am allocated some mini projects, I don't make final decisions, I mostly assist when needed 😊
Hi, can you tell me your tip on retain memry on lab? How do you work efficiently in lab without memry lapse?
please do a skincare & makeup routine
hahaha I'm no expert in either but might include it in my next vlog!!
