We got TOOK! Red S10 Blazer Intake Issues? Engine Knocking? Dead 4.3 V6?

- In one of our previous videos we showed a little bit of this 2 door S10 blazer we recently picked up now it's time to give it some attention. As a "Facebook Marketplace Find" we were looking at getting the intake done, and putting the distributor in to get it going. Well that's done and let's just say it's not running QUITE as well we would hope.
Fortunately for us we are pretty dang familiar with the Chevy S10 platform, with 4.3 V6 under the hood, and generally with any possible issues we could run into with this thing. Also, we happen to have a spare parts donor sitting just a couple hundred feet away should we need one.
So, what would YOU do? What should WE do? Is the little red S10 blazer dead or destined for a heart transplant and a new life? - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

Those 4.3 are a great motor. Im sure you can find one and do a quick swap.
I had an '05 Blazer just like that, but dark blue. I, too, replaced the intake gasket. I said, how hard can it be, just 8 bolts to take it off. TH-cam painted a different picture. I verified my work, by flatbedding it to my mechanic, and to make sure my distributor was installed correctly. I replaced my valve cover gaskets as well. A month later, the torque converter went. Had just replaced all 3 O2 sensors a few months prior. I replaced or repaired it with good parts and maintenance. Due diligence doesn't always pay off.
Looking forward to seeing more on this project....would like to know if the timing chain contributed to this problem also..??....good content and thanks

I’ve seen this before on the 4.3 they got water in a cylinder when pulling the intake and bent a rod when it was turned over
We were JUST discussing this and it's certainly something that we are aware of and could be a possibility as to what happened.
To me it sounds like top end, maybe broken or loose rocker arm (s) , i had that same engine running and noise years ago with loose rockers on a ford 8 cyl.
Piston slap?
It's puzzling why you'd show oil pressure, but not get a drop of oil out of the pushrods. You said the intake was off, so I bet someone cleaned the valley out and washed everything down into the oil pan, or maybe ran motor flush through it. Ove had several of these intakes off and found a bunch of sludge in the valley, and had an argument with the boss because he wanted me to clean it all out, but I always let it be because otherwise all of that gets in the oil pan and leads us here.
Sounds in the top end.Pitch seems too high for a rod knock to me.
That sucks unless you got it for a great price.
Broken piston skirt
Sounded like a busted piston as soon as you started it plus when you tried to pull of it was skipping breathe out of the exhaust
Check for a washer on top of one of the pistons
