I was thinking the same thing before you said it! Many music videos back then featured white people or couples as the stars of them, even when the musical artists were black and even though you wouldn't see the reverse happening with white artists. It's the racist world we live in, even more so back then. It was said that that had to be done for the song to have mainstream commercial appeal / success. It's sad. 😌
