We used to sing this in talent shows back in the 1970's plus we we also sang "What's Come Over Me" by Blue Magic. You need to react to that smooth dreamy song one day.

Everyone always seems to confuse Bobby Smith with Philippe Wynn. Philippe Wynn was with the group for only about 3-4 years. He was a Johnny-come-lately to the Spinners and only sang lead on a few songs. Bobby Smith is the lead singer for this song and the one you see singing lead in the video and he was the lead singer on most of the Spinners' songs. Philippe is the one who does the fade out at the end (the sideburns). Somehow this mistaken notion of Wynn for Smith persists. Wynn was somewhat self-aggrandizing, not very likeable in that regard. He came to the group and attempted to take over. He once told the rest of the group that he wanted to change the name of the group from the Spinners to something of his own choice. That was the 70s. The rest of the guys, many whom, like Bobby Smith, had been there since the beginning (20 years earlier in the mid-50s), just got up and walked out and left him sitting there alone. Wynn soon left the group and went around performing on his own. He died of a heart attack in the mid-80s at a night club, I believe. Bobby Smith continued to perform with the Spinners into the mid-2000s or so. He died in 2010. You can view a portion of his funeral services on YT (some Spinners there, of course). Anyway, Bobby Smith is the main singer here, not Wynn. Wynn did have a unique voice, and there is no doubt he was talented, but he was no Bobby Smith. Bobby Smith is not getting the credit he deserves as the Group's singer on most of their songs because people keep confusing him with Wynn.
