The lead singer of the SOS BAND on this song is MARY DAVIS. Amber picked a winner here! This was their first big hit in 1980. You guys definitely need to revisit this band. They were on fire in the early-mid 80s. Next song should be "Just Be Good To Me" or ""Just The Way You Like It.
SOS Band has a great discography, and their lead, Mary Davis, was a great singer. Very smooth, distinct voice.

You guys have such a beautiful old soul. You guys would have loved the 1970's Roller rink on a Sunday night back in the day. If you wonder why Sundays and not Friday or Saturday. Back in the day the white owned rinks only allowed Sundays for us . My folks then opened a Roller rink back in 1974 to corner the market being open all week for us. But still, Sundays was always the main night. Habit i guess. That roller rink was my early memories at 4 or 5 years old. Still got some of the old albums. LOL

Amber has an amazing ability to transport herself back to good old days - she immediately got that this was a skating rink song. Oh the memories.

The 1986 album Sands of Time is so chill & mellow including the title track, The Finest, and probably the best song - Even When You Sleep

Great reaction. This is one of my favorite all time jams. Yes, it was fun dancing to this is the club. And even now, no matter what I'm doing, cooking, cleaning, whatever, when this comes on, I dance until it's over. It's on all my playlists.

I remember buying this song on a 45 record back in 1979. It was such a great song. In my opinion it could easily be one of the greatest disco songs of all time. Right up there with the Bee Gees, "You Should Be Dancing". Saw them live in Nashville two years ago.

SOS band jams. You will love “Just Be Good To Me” also. It has a killer baseline. Mary Davis is a great singer.

Produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis - two of musics visionaries and pioneers - not to mention all their work with the Janet. It was pure joy watching you two enjoy this song for the first time!

This song was a huge hit in the summer of 1980. I was going to school at the University of Colorado in Boulder and during the summer break, I was hired as a Peer Counselor for a College Prep program. I'd listen to the local Denver radio station and this song was getting a lot of air play. I had to pick up all the high school students flying into the old Stapleton Airport and take them to the dorm they stayed in for the month they were in the summer program. The girls would all want me to turn up the volume on the radio when this song came on as I drove them to the campus. I was 18 going on 19 years old and it was such a fun summer.

One of my all time favorite Disco songs. I saw them in concert at Summerfest in Milwaukee when I was in High School. They had a few hits after this. They were able to reach the R & B/Dance and Top 40 charts.

This is the "45" version of the song. Listen to the "12" version of this classic. This was a dance club monster jam.
Check out, "Just be good to me," and "The Finest."
