My summary while listening
Even if we keep our money in the banks, our money doesn't just sit there. It's often invested to fund other businesses. Some of which are far from environmentally friendly. In this program, the ways in which money can help protect the environment will be discussed.
According to John Fleetwood, who has worked in sustainable investing for decades, public interest in ethical banks has ballooned in the last few years. Ethical banks used to be considered niche. As the environmentally responsible investing increased, banks started to jump on the bandwagon. As a result, some banks have been accused of greenwashing.
From the point of view of Richard Curtis, a British film director, the more people demand responsible pensions, the more banks have to be transparent. This concern puts the spotlight on how pension funds are being used, such as supporting large oil companies or renewable energy companies.
Good job 👍👏

Hi everyone, according to the lesson. I found it helpful to make money easily. I think so.
What does ‘change your pension’ mean?
It means change where the money in your pension is being invested.
@@bbclearningenglish 'Pension' is quite a new word to me! I was hoping if you could explain it, please?
@@Brian-fo6ew Ah, I see! A pension is money that you receive after you finish working (when you are retired). In the UK, when we work, we pay into a pension. We get this money, and some money from the government, regularly each week or month after the age of around 65.
Thanks for explanation because I was relly confused after this lesson. I knew was "pension" means but it everything you said in this video didn't make any sense for me. Now when you explained how it work in UK it's clear. @@bbclearningenglish
@@bbclearningenglishIn Argentina, a "pension" is money that the government gives a person every month in special situations. For example in case of a physical or mental disability. Is what you call a pension a "jubilación" for us?

I am green and naive to invest my pension. A niche is intrerest in investing. Bmany banks are green washing. If we learn how to invest
,putting the spotlight on the financial investment and jumping on the bandwagon and then will be successful.
Hello, i'm here, from Vietnam, tuesday, 5/7/2024(ya)
Banks have started to jump on the bandwagon for environmentally responsible investments because people are putting the spotlight on the transparency of the investments of banks These banks are niche for some people. However, this might lead to greenwashing because the banks want green people to put their money there.
Would you mind telling me the meaning of the phrase 'ethical bank has ballooned', please.
This is a best program for english that i've ever known. Thanks a lot for sharing knowledge-free
Wow! Thank you :)

I love to speak English fluently. But my listening isn't good.
Please help me
Thanks for your assistance
Green money
how much time do you spend to dictant it . let's write your experience
I can read English but I can’t translate I don’t know why 😢
If you can read and understand what you read, so you have to make an inicial effort to try to say what you understand in your first language (translate). In the begging it's hard, but become more natural with time.
Another suggestion is, firstly to be able to speak and write in English (I mean, to communicate reasonably well), instead to translate (except when in first levels), because when we translate a language, we tend to think slower, and make some interference of our first language in English, so we may make some mistakes.
And a final suggestion is, don't give up, everybody can find your way to learn anything.
I hope my suggestions can help you. Good lock, and good studies!
How do I know what level is this video? Is it written anywhere?
This series is aimed at level B1 and above :)
What does it mean "greenwashing" please?
'Greenwashing' is when a company tries to make its customers believe that its products are more environmentally friendly than they really are. For example, the company might say 'look at our recyclable packaging' to make the customer believe that the product is 'green' even though the product might actually be very damaging to the environment.
Bro I don’t have even bank account 💔
Why i don't have subtitles of all videos?
There are subtitles available for this video - you just need to turn them on at the bottom right of the screen.
If we can grow money tree, will the earth be greener? 😅
Can anyone make me understand the concept of this video?
Not Black, at least!!
