If you see any beautiful quiet places, foolishly don't share on social media or even with friends, which brings in more tourists and spoils the place. Social media is spoiling beautiful quiet places by bringing in more tourists.

I understood that there’s will always have a contradiction around eco tourism once since the transport we take generates impact to the global warming but it’s much better than travel all around luxury services and including that we know that business overseas impact much more and those are the ones we should debate the efficiency to tackle the global warming.

Those tourists would go somewhere else and spend money there, contributing to the climate change in that process.
So if the money they would spend anyway is spent on eco tourism, at least it will have some positive impact as local govenments and communities would try to protect habitats instead of destorying them in the name of developmet or by neglecting.

I wish you had undertaken an investigation of efficacy or otherwise of the various carbon offsetting programmes - if that was even mentioned, it was so short that I missed it.

I don’t think tourism's footprint should include food because the tourists would be eating food at home if they weren't on tour, and probably similarly impactful food considering their economic profile.

Yeah, it could be, but it should have a Good management, sometimes the bussinessman are only think about how to get earn money without thinking about environment and the status of animal is endangered or not.. So many thinks when we want to focus on eco-tourism in our country.

I'm from Costa Rica, basically since we are born we are told to take care of the environment and animals, of course there is always bad people who don't follow the rules, but the majority of ticos will do their best to take care of our small country's environment

I think the problem is not to crowd a place with a plane of tourists or so,is the trashy stuff they all are backpacking on , because u need the tourist system in for the local communities to do livehooding possible,u as an underdevelopping countrh like costa rica or any other latin america the ttourist is require just think about the hawaii too 😅.

Eco tourism is like a zigaretfilter...its a tiny bit better but still killng you.
