What oil weight would you suggest for a mercury grand Marquis 1997 4.6l v8 that I just purchased, with 100k miles from an old guy.. He told me he used dino oil, 15w40, 20w50, etc all the time since he bought it.. The owners manual calls for 5w30. I was thinking 5w30 from super tech synthetic what do you think
I use whatever the manufacturer recommends. Especially an overhead cam configuration. Even if the engine isn't a variable timing type or uses oil pressure with actuators. If Ford insists that you use a 5w20 with this 2009 I figure there are good reasons. If nothing else, gets oil to the top of the overhead cams and timing components more efficiently tha. A heavier weight. Just because I do something a certain way doesn't make me an expert...

Obx headers and i just bought two turbos off a couple junkyard 2.3 liter engines. I'm about to run all that this weekend. Picked up two intercoolers from a lancer. Twin turbos this weekend for under $300 🤣🤣🤣

@@krownvikkhris3004 didnt touch the heads. the engine is stock otherwise. Shift points are set at 6k.. rev limiter is set at 6400. Ive got a floor shift so I can manually shift and hit rev limiter if Im not careful

@@skrip2143 Nothing fancy or extreme but everything combined makes for a fun ride. around town or cruising, believe it or not. the chassis handles so good you'd be surprised. you can push it hard in corners. it's tight and stays super flat but just sticks to the pavement

I have a similar build. 0-60 is mid-high 6s with the stock TB and headers. Kept up with a 2021 mazda 3 turbo
They got 4 cats just put a magna flow on. It will give a low growl when you gun it

@@yeanah2571 With the standard Crown Vic tire size the engine would turn 2500 at 65 mph and 3000 rpm at 80 mph. Perfectly acceptable for a street car.

Obx (looks knock offs) long tubes with an obx 2.5 inch catless x pipe into magnaflow mufflers and 2.5 inch tailpipes out to the bumper

4.30 with one inch shorter tires than stock. Feels like a what a 4.56 would with stock height tires
