This is like entering a men's locker room, undoing your towel, and slamming it down on the bench to show off. JLC knew how this watch would re-up, once again, consumer confidence in JLC
Every couple of years, they remind us all why that is the case indeed :-) Look also at the not so old HYBRIS MECHANICA CALIBRE 179 for example, saw that one in the metal and just blows you away. But this one is imho on an entirely different level.
Woah, insanity! Ms Renier showing the industry how it is done! Releasing this especially after a cataclysmic 2020, this must have taken serious balls to push through. What a dream watch!
This was by far the highlight of this year’s W&W. Whilst Rolex (I know it’s a different price range compared to this watch) delivered essentially the same Explorer 2, JLC really went all out to celebrate an anniversary. Aesthetically it combines classical Reverso design with beautiful “artwork”. Really cool
I completely agree. I don't blame other brands from taking a breather with 2020 being what it was, however, that makes this release THAT much more awesome imho :-)
Magnificent! No words to express. Maybe if you can show us the box of this watch and its mechanism in another video. Many thanks for this beautiful presentation!!
I had an image of the ultimate watch in my mind before this watch. This watch surpasses that imaginary watch by a solar system. This thing can predict solar eclipses! Talk about celestial complications! I wouldn’t be surprised if it could predict the heat death of the universe.
This is what is Pinnacle of Watchmaking, where art, science n commerce works together. Amazing complications, it's jewel of crown. While some hyped brands π♂lex whos most complicated watch is Skydweller is just a joke itself.
Detailed review of a mechanical wonder. Thanks. Perhaps I haven't understood the rhing, but... I wonder how the energy is transmitted from the biggest case to the back case (because there's no crown on this back case) 🤔
Thank you for the kind feedback! No crown indeed - Every day at midnight, a pin extends out of the main case movement to activate a mechanical corrector in the cradle, which then advances the cradle displays. The mechanism driving the cradle displays is set directly into the cradle itself.
Excellent question. It certainly does work, not just fancy decoration :-) It is a very ingenious system. Every day at midnight, a pin extends out of the main case movement to activate a mechanical corrector in the cradle, which then advances the cradle displays. The mechanism driving the cradle displays is set directly into the cradle itself.
She is drop dead gorgeous! Pricing is officially only 'available on request' but it appears to sit at approximately USD 1.35 Million although some sources quote the same number but in EUR. But the real question: what will it cost to service? :-)
My god. I just saw this. It's like a gorgeous mad invention time machine from the 19th century. is this like a million dollar watch or what has it sold for?
Oh, even a broken clock is right twice a day. This is not innovation or even progress ;its just excessive overkill. Shame on you JLC, really... "I could rather be bounded in a nut shell and count myself a king of infinite space.”

hahaha
shame the affordable watches like the polaris are so underwhelming
@@degriff Can you please say the name of the music on the background?
OMG! wow! what a piece, this is the kind of watchmaking that deserves hype.
Exactly 🔥🔥🔥 But a new color dial at Patek or Rolex probably has more people talking 🤷♂️😅 Insanity
Jaw dropping haute horology and art. Now I understand why they call JLC the watchmaker of watchmakers.

"World's on fire, so let's do something crazy" :-) I can only imagine that board room meeting where this got approved (thankfully).
"This is what true watchmaking is all about" - Indeed, my friend, indeed

Wow! What a watch !! Would be perfect for my next cricket game this summer 😂
haha, yeah a real 'tool watch' haha. Pfff, what an incredible watch, imagine seeing one in the wild :-D
Absolute masterpiece. JLC is masterclass!
Totally! I still come back to this video once in a while just to admire it, what a piece. They should have reserved one for the Louvre, seriously ! 🙂
What a masterpiece.
Awesome video, love your little jab at a certain watch with a moon theme :) Also, the end lol!!! This is some next level stuff!
Thanks Jeff! Great to read you here :-D Only kidding of course, I like a snoopy on a Speedmaster as much as the next guy ;-)
And JLC is not part of the holy trinity? Must be above them :)
They are the only watchmaker thats made movements for all three so you're not wrong
God tier…
Good heavens, this is glorious. Absolutely remarkable.
Honestly would visit the Louvre just to see this :o
😂🙌🥂👍 And for good reason indeed! 😁🥂🥂🥂

Fantastic!!!
Breathtaking watch. Thanks for the review. Not seen many cover it (can’t move for Rolex reviews however...).
Thanks for watching! It is an absolute masterpiece

My brain literally just f***ing blew up…🤯😂
Hard to save for a new Explorer when you could get a Reverso from the company that just did “this”...
haha :-) It somehow does make me appreciate my 'basic' Reverso a bit more as well :-) Always great to read you here Chawn!
You know hip hop is now popular culture when the watch reviewer calls the new JLC hybris a "flex" by JLC lol.

@@degriff ok, I get it. Thanks again!
Holy crap, u guys deserve more subs.
Hah, thank you so much, this is actually very nice (and motivating) to read! :-) Many many thanks
WONDERFUL......
So how do you know how many days it has been unwound?? What's the accuracy of the movement?
How does the moon phase on the cradle operate? Or does it at all? It’s mind boggling horology.

What’s the retail on this beauty?

Love the pic @lucy!!
@@degriff costs 1.35 million euros to buy, 1.35 million dollars to service is my guess
@@actionarslan hahaha, probably not too far from reality! ;-)
@@actionarslan 😳 too expensive for my dad
Too bad it doesn’t have a rotating bezel.
😂🙏
The refinement from the triptych to this quadtriptych is immense. The former is much bigger and heavier seeming.
My god. I just saw this. It's like a gorgeous mad invention time machine from the 19th century. is this like a million dollar watch or what has it sold for?
Hah :-) Yeah an insane watch with a pricetag to match - approximately 1.6 Million USD 🤑
1.5 million
Is the typical watch with Tourbillon, minute repeater, and four faces, pretty average.
😂🙏
Combien coûte cette merveille ?👍🎩🎩
Le prix est aussi “top” - EUR 1.35 Million 😆
I think i have to wait until the chinese offer the copy for a tenner.
😂 I think you’ll have to wait a long time for that 😆
Fun fact: there are private jets you can buy for less than the price of this watch.
Yeah, that is indeed the mad truth 😅
😲👍
Ein Traum.
Absolutely 😍
so there is no rotor? this difinetily lifetime winding 😢
It comes with an insanely over-engineered box that takes care of that. It is super impressive :-)
€1.35 million, or about US$1.60 million.
I wanna drill holes in it and bust it down with diamonds… jkjk hehe

I never saw anything like it, nice explanation btw!
It is a unique piece of work (and art) no doubt. Thank you for the positive feedback! 🙏

Waiting the Chinese knockoff 👍😁🍻
this watch is just fantastic!!!
For sure!
