The best sealer I've used is called "The Right Stuff" available at your favorite AP Store. Racers use it. Last Trans rebuild I did is staying very dry. (they all leak some but mine is only wet and very few drops of the cardboard under the car.) It's expensive but so is your time if you have to pull the transmission again.

Which lapping technique did you use, Cosman or Charlesworth ? Great solution
Use well seal gasket sealer it’s does a excellent job
Before you reassemble check the solenoid cross shaft seals, mine leak badly.
