3:40 I miss the days when Fire Emblem games would actually edit cutscenes to account for playable characters dying like this. If you ever want to get depressed, let Oscar and Boyd die in chapter 1 of Path of Radiance, and then check out Rolf's dialogue in chapter 2.
Shadows of Valentia has a ton of customized dialogue based on who dies and who survives, both in story and in the endings. So much effort for things 99% of players will never see is impressive and shows a level of care rarely found.
gonna be that guy to point out it's technically possible to get level 20 Hector on this map, if you have someone continually miss him on the pillar (may require RNG rigging). might be unnecessary if Exp stars are always avoidable on maps after this, though (maybe Marcus will make it possible with his low xp gain).
Level 20 and 8 str is a peak thief moment

Leila is the one grieving for Matthew now
not for long
@@Excelblem yes soon she’ll be grieving for the whole army while she herself is dead
@@Excelblem too soon man…
😭
As a Matt myself, what the hell
Guess you won´t be near level 20 anytime soon
Prepare to be stabbed
what kind of name is Matthew anyways? No offense but it sounds so strange to me
Guess you also rather stay in one piece than be in there
I love that in the first chapter you trap a guy in a room until his weapon breaks and then just let the poor guy go
Something something it's about sending a message something something
That thief was Astore.
Bro got molested HARD 😏
They sent him away to warn the next victims 😏😏😏😏

There's even a scene where they bury Matthew beside Leila if he dies before her.
No, that takes up too much time and money, we need to spend more time and money on looking at character's face while they're drinking leaf water.
Now they don’t even die they just “retired”

@@MythrilZenith was it already in Gaiden though? Valentia is a remake after all.
And the playthrough starts with killing off my favorite character
This is going to be wonderful
If you favorite character isn't hector eliwood or lyn then have same bad knews 4 u
As a Matthew I am replaceable. Farewell.
Oo boi, hella excited for this
"I let the thief go since not killing it will reduce the number of combats I need" those who watched the stream know the true story ;)

Tellus your secrets magic man
wow that post-battle quote by Hector is actually sad...
I love how Matthew had 8 strength at level 20 anyways

unfortunately I have better things to do than making a 30 generation commitment for something that's not optimal anyway
F to all the Matt's
@0:17 Can we get much higher!!
Is Jitaroquest getting a video series?
It’s the Fates Gaiden video!
wait... the border claims that 5 tactician points are possible when only 3 are actually possible
no training hector to lvl 20?
not reasonably possible without healing sources or significant dodge terrain
Lord units solo final chapter?
Yo I can level grind Matthew to 20 here???
Interesting very interesting
Oof
Downvote for Matthew
