Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with the Takoma Academy soprano section! They depart for New Zealand soon for the World Choir Games. Y’all be ready!! These singers are coming in HOT! 🔥
Techniques in this video:
1) Larynx stabilization: the foundation to navigating your range (especially high notes!) in a healthy way
2) Rhythmic precision: in fast-moving passages, how do you get a group of singers to move as a single unit?
3) Resonant space: high notes need lots of space to live, and can affect the tone color of the overall ensemble (“golf ball” space will elicit a darker sound).
