      Glad you found the review helpful. If you want a no-frills computer, it's hard to be the CYCPLUS G1. I honestly don't know how they were able to get it so cheap while still including a GPS chip. Most computers this price are non-GPS and require speed sensors.

    Great review has a person that is new to bike computers (MTB only) it was really helpful that you included the comparison section I will be getting a slightly bigger m1 so that I can upload rides to Strava directly

      Thanks William, glad the comparisons could help. The M1 is definitely has more features, and if you look at higher end Bryton computers you'll even get full mapping and touch screens.

    Thank you for the great review and comparison. Would it be a budget replacement for much more expensive Skyrc GPS for rc cars?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on what you want to do with it, the CYCPLUS G1 is not a data logger and does not even record data (there is no way to export data from it). If you're just looking for a cheap way to monitor speed and trip-distances then the G1 would be great for attaching to RC cars.

    I bought CYCPLUS G1 to avoid cables and get a frustration free experience. But this product have its own way and oftentimes do not show anything the first 5-10 minutes af cycling despite its turned on.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's strange. Usually the CYCPLUS get GPS signal pretty quickly. I'd recommend turning it on outside and not inside the house, that does seem to help it find a signal faster.

    The best part of it is that it is app free ! 'cuase well after all ! cycling is precisely about freedom !!!

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Just a note - the CYCPLUS G1 does not connect with the CYCPLUS app and doesn't let you export data. You'll want the M1 / M2 or the other models if you wants to map your ride or share it.

  • @donnabookatz8379
    @donnabookatz8379 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Is there any way to download the information off the G1 onto a cell phone or computer if you want to keep track for a multiple day charity ride? I’m just concerned that the information could be lost. Also what is the largest number of miles it can record, we are doing a 25,000 mile cycle ride for fundraising.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, there is no way to extract the data. I'd recommend getting a different CYCPLUS computer so you can actually export the data. I don't know what the maximum odometer value would be but for these style computer with pre-defined grids you might be limited to 9999 if there is only space for 4 digits.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I imagine they were only able to hit the low price point by removing the bluetooth connectivity. You can pay slightly more for the CYCPLUS M1 (th-cam.com/video/nFM2n3HbIk0/w-d-xo.html) or buy the $35 Coospo which has sensor connectivity (th-cam.com/video/pIFVT3dWEDs/w-d-xo.html).

      Yeah, those might be good options. However, the place I am from has very limited options available for cyclists. Now I'm using a certain Magene C406 and I can't find any other bike computer beating it in it's price range hope to see a review of this product from you someday

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yes, the CYCPLUS M1 also comes with a simple rubber strap style handlebar mount. CYCPLUS also sells a separate out-front-mount (www.cycplus.com/products/cycplus-cycling-out-front-bike-mount-designed-for-cycling-computer) which I'd highly recommend - it puts your computer directly in front of the stem and keeps your handlebars clear of clutter.

    I just cycled along a disused railway line for 55 minutes and the G1 time lost over a minute when compared to the stopwatch on my wristwatch. Also on some occasions the speed indicated zero even though I was travelling at approx 15 mph. Could it be that the GPS signal is lost due to overhanging trees?
    Also is there any way to set the ODO (C8) to show mileage to 0.01 miles. It currently shows 0.1 miles.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if you lose GPS signal your speed drops to zero and mileage can be inaccurate. If you do a lot of riding in forests or tunnels you should consider using a different GPS computer that can pair to a speed sensor which measures rotation of your wheel instead of GPS for distance/speed. Regarding the 0.01 accurate distance display, I'm not sure I've seen any GPS show that many digits.

    Hi, what happens if you set off on your bike and ride for an hour and ride say 12 miles and then stop at a cafe for half an hour? When you start again does the time and distance just get added on under "DST" and "Time"? This is what I'd expect to happen and if this is correct how do you reset "DST" and "Time" to zero for the next ride, say the following day?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, every time you power the computer on/off all the trip data so the "ride time" and "ride distance" would be reset to zero. As you said, the total ride time and accumulated odometer are still tracked under the "total" value fields.

    Is there a way you can see the distance you’ve traveled in miles rather than feet?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have the GPS computer anymore to confirm, but I believe it should automatically switch to miles once you ride a long enough distance. With the limited display digits, I don't see how it could even show a multi-mile ride distance in feet (1 mile = 5280 ft which wouldn't fit on the screen). The computer does have an option to switch between miles / ft and km / meters though.

    • @antman5474
      @antman5474 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah mine records my trip distance in feet for a few minutes after switching on but then reverts to miles.
      This unit is bargain basement so what it does is admirable for the price. I have no complaints.

  • @timjohn4954
    @timjohn4954 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hey, do you know if i can easily reset the kilometer as i want to use it as a tripmaster. With a roadblock i have to reset to zero at every corner in the roadblock, and i search for a device, where i have to push just one button to reset the meters. Do you know this maybe?
    Thank you!

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't believe there is a reset - the trip distance is based on the distance since the computer was turned on. You would have to power cycle it to get the new distance. For your use, it seems like it would be a lot easier to just write down the distance at each roadblock and do the a little match to find each leg. Otherwise, you could do a full factory reset to clear the trip and odometer distance.

  • @ANYTHING-AND-EVERYTHING.

    How do you reset the total distance traveled and total time?

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only the total distance can be changed via C8 setting screen. A full factory reset would set both values back to zero though (C7 screen on settings menu). There meant to be like your cars odometer - it's the total running time and distance. Each time you turn the computer on, the current time / distance will reset from zero which is more useful for your current ride.

    • @TheSweetCyclists

    If I want this for an RC car application where I don't want to interface with accessories, is this too much and would I be better off just getting the G1? If I wanted to mount this just using Velcro, is that possible with the attaching point on the back? Thanks.

      This is a great option for RC cars since it's so cheap. The computer uses a standard Garmin quarter turn style mount so you can get velcro or adhesive mounts for it such as www.amazon.com/Thinvik-Universal-Adhesive-Sticking-Smartphone/dp/B096LSM1T4/ for pretty cheap.

You cannot pull the data files though - this computer does not store the ride information. It's just for real-time data display and accumulated values such as odometer / total time.

      If you want to clear the odometer (the accumulated riding distance) you can set it on the C8 configuration page - hold the bottom right button and then press the bottom left until you see the C8 page (4 clicks). Everytime you turn off / on the computer the total riding time and riding distance should start from 0 again. If you enter somewhere with poor GPS reception you'll lose speed/distance. The same thing happens to me in long tunnels. The only way to avoid that is to run a speed sensor instead of relying on GPS signal to compute speed - but you'll need a computer like the CYCPLUS M1 which lets you sync to sensors.

      Is the computer able to connect to the GPS signal? I'd recommend turning the computer on outdoors where there is better reception to help it connect quicker. Once GPS signal is acquired, the speed / distance displays should automatically be displayed. Note - there is also a "now" (live), "max" (maximum values) and "avg" (average values) display so make sure you're aware of which mode you are in to avoid confusion.
