KING cheers heaps for that champ I deadset owe you a beer or 2 for your work. This is just what I'm looking for. Not a speed freak just like an idea of how fast my 144001 is when it has the rare chance it's on tarmac. Namely trimming tests down my street before I got the BMX track. Come down to Byford BMX Track name the day and time mate I'll be there thrashing or fixing. I'm always missing the person that has a 1/10 maybe bigger car. I see the tracks and skids left but just miss the person that goes to the track.
Where's all the Byford RC peeps at??

This GPS reader looks like a great budget option Dave! It gets much faster readings than my Meilun which was the cheapest one I could find here stateside. The Meilun is also made for cyclists but it takes a while to get an accurate reading. No doubt this one is a better option than the Meilun.
Yes it’s an impressive unit especially for the low price, I always have this on my bike it will use it in my mid size or larger Brushless RC’s boats as well, thanks Ryan 👍

I've had one for a few weeks now been using it just for speed runs seems fine for that job also I left it in my jeans and put it through the wash and it sill works as before lol
Haha well that IPX6 waterproof rating was no joke then 😆 it is a great cheap unit and pretty accurate for sure, i plan to use it in my RC boats soon, cheers for watching

Yes and works really well too considering the low price, sometimes my expensive SKYRC Bluetooth reader I mentioned in this video struggles to even get an initial GPS lock before I run the car when this unit locks on within half a minute. Thanks for watching John 👍
Nice Dave, I need to get another one, I lost a couple last year. I used the xoss, check it out, it's about 30 bucks, and it has Bluetooth. Mine didn't have Bluetooth, so I'm not sure which functions are supported, but I'm about to order one.

Aliexpress does NOT like sending things to the u.s - takes 30-60 days IF it ever arrives at all. Banggood is horrible here also- again 30-60 days to arrive, & then it's a coin toss. Even the " usa banggood " ships from China to here, yet they claim an American warehouse. Great video!!
Ive ordered a crap load of things from Aliexpress and Banggood... 3 rc cars, motors, tools, upgrade and spare parts all separately and receiving everything within 2 to 4 weeks. Well before their estimated delivery dates. I was skeptical at first and now im addicted shopping from there. You have to look at their store ratings and customer reviews before buying.
@@RayRiv73 yes with Aliexpress it’s like eBay, check the sellers rating and or feedback reviews before purchasing from them makes all the difference

Dave, I have been watching a lot of your videos and I am just curious why you have band aids on your thumbs?
I had nail psoriasis a couple years ago which means one by one they all fell out, so I use bandaids to protect that part of my thumbs

Thanks mate 🙏 I have tried a few different remedies over last couple years but nothing has worked unfortunately. The meds they prescribed me at first were so strong and had bad side effects they made me unwell so I stopped taken them. Tbh I have just gotten used to it now, just hard to pick up certain things that are small like pins or nails etc or peeling back tape, I am a house painter by trade
@@PERTHWESTOZRC I believe in oils like tea tree and coconut oil as well as Zinc ointment for treating this. If you are a house painter by trade, then sadly all the poisonous chemicals in the paint also has a huge impact on your health.

Hello, what's the max speed that this gps reader can read? And can the GPS signal connect throught my fiber glass glow rc airplane? Or do I need to mount it on the outside of the airplane? My plane can reach at least 100mph
i have tested it speed running in my rc car and it read 115kph not a problem, so it should in mph as well. the decimal point figure once it reads anything over 99.9 then becomes a full figure, so for example 115kph reads as 11.5 on the LCD screen, as far as fibre glass and interference with the gps module, i wouldn't know sorry

Don't forget this is a GPS reader for bikes so it can't be too small so its easily visible as you ride, It is small enough to fit on or inside most RC car shells though

I was going to buy one but from what I read it needs a speed sensor. I'm confused.
It works perfectly fine and very accurate too, it already senses the speed via gps so not sure what you mean
@@PERTHWESTOZRC Ok thanks. I’ve done some further reading on these bicycle gps devices and many are advertised as wireless gps speedometers. A sensor is supplied and needs to be secured to the hub of the bicycle wheel and once activated communicates with the device via Bluetooth. So why they call them gps is very misleading.
Mine don't connect to satellite only come today new as well how to fix ?
Have you given it enough time to gather the satellites? you will see a satellite icon on the top of the screen when it is locked on. Also see if the kph or mph starts to work when you move around. If nothing happens you must have got a faulty unit then, ask for a refund from the vendor you purchased from

Over 100kph or mph, the last decimal digit turns into a whole number for anything over 99.9

That’s unfortunate mate, there are a couple sellers on Aliexpress that stock these so maybe see if the others send to your country?
If your RC car Top Speed is expected to be over 100 mph, this will not work for you. Look at the display it has two digits. I own a RLAARLO 917, so this is no good for me, sadly. Top Speeds of the upgraded RLAARLO 787 - 917 is near 190 mph... lol.
You're wrong buddy, I have had my rlaarlo cars go over 100kph and this displays triple digits. The decimel number becomes a whole number instead. I have it shown in one of my speed run videos of my ak 917. This gps reader does show over 99.9kph or mph

Nope, once you get over 100kph or mph the decimal number becomes the last digit of the speed. So if you go over the 99.9 it will read 100 as 10.0, 110kph as 11.0 etc

I honestly don't think I ever set the time on my one either 🤣 there must be something about it in the user manual I guess
