You have a very good, structured approach to reviewing EV's. Thank you! Pricing seems quite high on this vehicle when you consider that BYD has a commercial van in the low 30's USD, or around 1/2 as much.

This size van is used more by tradesman fitted out in the back rather than for parcels so eve makes sense as the daily mileage is very often quite low. Keeping that lump sticking out for the gearstick looks and is a really bad bit of penny-pinching; a comparison in price with its siblings would be interesting just to see how much people will pay for that badge on an identical van. Good review.

For many tradies mileage will be relatively low, and having V2L for some sites would be just awesome. And a floor size that accommodates 2400x1200 is fantastic.

It's got a heat pump which is good for winter use as does not reduce your range badly

The tyres are standard builders van tyres' which is not good for range but the CTL batteries will do 19 years.could be better when they get the new traction motor in a few years which should be better on motorways.

Once locked, Can the back of the van be opened from the inside without using a keyfob? I'm getting a rental that needs to be opened from the front window using an access key, but wondering if I can go in the back for an extended period without locking myself in with the auto lock function the van has after 20 mins of inactivity.

Good structured review. I would add that you should consider time as a cost, as time is money. Depending on your usage case charging may not be an issue if you can charge at home and/or work, but is a highly problematic if you can't. Spending hours a day finding an available, working charger and sitting there waiting to charge is a dealbreaker for many.

Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Do you mean time spent charging? We cover that in the Usability section in terms of how long it takes to do a 10%-80% charge at its maximum charge rate and also how long it takes to charge to full from a 7kW wall box. Do you think there is anything else we may need to cover? All suggestions welcome if it helps us improve what we do.

@@AutoEV yes I do mean time charging although the increased cost of higher rate charging should also be considered. It may just be worth commenting in the usability section that it may not be a practical option at present with this limitation as I have seen people make the mistake. There is really some way for EVs and especially the infrastructure to go. It may be worth doing a video about the infrastructure improvement, more the underlying infrastructure that has to be there for on street, ultra fast and even a basic 7KW fast charger at home, as well as charging price equitability, as none of this is really covered by anyone else.

looks the van has a rearview mirror : is it also a digital camera to view to the traffic behind the van?

The green band on the numberplate is optional and not mandatory.

Just a thought, is there a four seater BEV van out there?

    • @devinecatlady

In the last few days of looking at electric van reviews I definitely came across one where one option was to have front seats, rear seats, plus cargo space, but for the life of me I can't remember which one it was. If it helps I've seen videos on the following:
      Nissan env200
      LDV delivery 3
      Peugeot E expert
      Ford E Transit
I think that's all I've looked so far. Pretty sure it was one of those last 2??

    • @mikeyonwin8195
      @mikeyonwin8195 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@devinecatlady Thank you for your reply. Of the four that you mention only the Nissan env200 seems to fit the bill (even a possible 7-seats). "Pickup trucks" as they call them. The Citroën ë-Berlingo MPV also seems to get close to being suitable for our UK roads. It seems that our American colleagues are the guys that are cornering the 4/5 seats plus load-carrying capability BEVs - anyone for Florida?

    • @devinecatlady

@@mikeyonwin8195 ...and also the Renault kangoo EV has option for 3x rear seats. I vaguely remember watching a video these last few days that said the Nissan env200 was going to be phased out and the kangoo was the closest replacement?? Or something like that.
My head is starting to swim as I try to get to grips with electric van options. Now that more vans are becoming available I'm thinking seriously about switching to EV. It started with the standard diesel ford transit range until I spied the transit custom phev (and passenger tourneo phev)....but at crazy high prices and then started noticing the lower prices for full electric and realized that they could possibly work (range-wise)....so 4 nights later I'm on overload with a million different webpages open on my phone 😂
      Happy hunting.
