- In the Following Video i'll run through the upcoming content for the game as well as my expectations on how it'll impact the overall performance and popularity of Space hulk, Deathwing. For those looking or considering purchasing this game i'll try to also give you an outline as to what I honestly feel this game delivers.

I REALLY want to see a sequel to this, but greatly expanded upon. I really liked it. But it had weak melee, and needed more customization, and player progression in the campaign. The graphics and levels were perfect. I did feel the Termites felt kindve weak defensively as well. Imagine this, and Space Marines and added a bunch of rpg mechanics.
Question is can you earn the currency and/or utilize the customization in the single player or is it still a tutorial for multiplayer?
I've actually been playing Deathwing, the single player campaign quite a lot recently, since upgrading to a GTX 1060 (6gb) a fortnight ago, from a dated R9 280x. It makes a big difference and the game is so much more enjoyable now. I'm really looking forward to the Definitive edition though, if it can optimize things even further, that and the extra features could really bring in the numbers and turn it around from an online multiplayer perspective. Which never really took off compared to titles like the popular Vermintide.
Fingers crossed :) there's hope I think.
Are all of those new unlocks and aesthetic options live? I don't see any "download" options for Enhanced Edition and apparently I'm up to date but don't have all the new content shown in video(weapons customization, aesthetic options for armor).
It will bring me back for sure.

I think the perfect Space Hulk game would just be the 1995 game with today's GFX.

Winter sales just for 20 bucks, definitely worth it! And yes if they make another exp later on with new maps new xenos and stuff, then i'll pay again if needed no doubt because the devs are working in the right direction. Gj see you all online!
Thanks for being honest with your review - I've been having a blast with Vermintide 2 and I want to play a 40K version of that. May pick this up.
Vermin tide with more guns it would seem, its a shame these series are obscure otherwise itd be more popular
how dose one "upgrade" form the original game to the Enhanced version ?

not many devs are willing to go back and fix their mistakes, and keep working on a game thats already out for reduced benefit

Just got the game and love it so far. Visually, the game is stunning. I really do hope this enhanced addition will create some buzz and encourage them to continue developing the game or at least show it's worth making a sequel. It be a shame for another 40K to be left and forgotten when this was so close to being right.
I intend to go back as soon as it updates
YES LETS PLAY PLS.. I am on console,don't have friends and I've seen the quality of the bots (were horrible when I last watched it) but I love the atmosphere of the game, warhammer in general, so pls do.
i'm thinking i'll try to do a mini "let's talk" series where i'll do some tips and advice through some guides. Perhaps some hard missions too :) stay tuned.
I just like the game but dont have it or ppl I could play it with on console, so Im happy to see pppl replay it now, after the updates. i've seen a playthrough but that was a while ago and I',m interested in whats changed
I only play single player. Love this exterminate through fire crusade. Big jacked up tank walking through tight corridors removing heresy. They need to take this and improve on another. Maybe one day, with another space marines
I just got this in the sale recently. I deffo agree with giving us a reason to get stronger. However for me the BIGGEST problem and something easy which would make it 10x better is getting rid of the sprint bar and give infinite sprint. You are running around SOO damn much and i don't wanna be spending most of that time fighting with the sprint bar. it makes the game feel so clunky. Rather then feeling like a bad ass space marine. Space marines would not run out of stamina that quickly.
Edit1: Forgot to add this to the beggining piece as well. Also stub guns hurting me was a real immersion breaking thing, rockets I understand, but I'd rather just have stubs make it harder for me to aim instead of actually doing damage to me, forcing my aim to shake all over.
After seeing someone praise you on the steam forum, I gotta say you make some quality content mate.
My main issues with the game that I felt really could've help it, was that it didn't have much replayability at all. There was no replay mission option, no permanent progression system for multiplayer, and no wave survival mode. Those three things could've really helped it; it didn't help either that the game wasn't optimized that well either.
However the game looks like the best game I've ever seen in my life, seriously, the details on the Terminators themselves is just astounding.
The enhanced edition mode seems like it could really save the game from being completely dead, the meaning to actually acquire different gear is going to be great. Major respect to the devs for trying to make the game better.
P.S. Any way you could do a video on the new update for Battlefleet: Gothic that's also supposed to be coming out? Not a lot has been said, but the dev's have confirmed that they're working on an update.
Yeah those stub guns on max difficulty are more like krak cannons - couple hits and you are le ded xD - To hell with lore! - Thanks for the kind words too, works to improve quality are ongoing :D

If it will be a DLC as i have already bought the game, I will go ahead and get it. It be nice to see how far they have added more content in the game, being a warhammer fan, I like stomping around in heavy power armor and weilding weapons to turn aliens into goo. BUT I do see your point and agree with several things you have mentioned from your video.
Interesting. Another game I really wanted to be good but got put off by all the early bad reports and the lack of replay-ability. Seems like this update might be enough to tempt me to get the game and hopefully convince some mates too. Thanks for the vid!

I bought it yesterday, because the new patch is ready and looks great!
I'm definitely getting back into this game and love it...but I'm sick of seeing the "server has disconnected" when I'm halfway / most of the way through a map and lose the XP. Love playing the librarian, hopefully he gets a buff in the next patch.
This patch is exactly what this game needs! Warhammer fans are allways in for the coop experience in general. My friends and me played basicly every coop Warhammer 40K or fantasy game there is. And it will not change with Deathwing. If the patch hits we are ready to purge some xeno filth!!!

I picked it up yesterday on ps4. I agree with a lot of what you said. It's a lot of fun especially with people but I worry about the long term. At the time of this comment it's on sale on psn for a little over 20 bucks and I think it's worth that price honestly.

I couldn't agree with you more. I would rather not play the missions over and over for aesthetics. I would want to earn gear because I need to be strong enough to advance to the next area or level.
I suggested all the shit they came out with on the forums when I managed to get into the closed Beta...Then a few months later they added a majority of my suggestions into the game. I suggested: Interrogator Chaplain, Weapon customization, and the armor customization for the record.
Reinstalling now, definitely looks like they've added a bunch of stuff that I wanted to see on release, I'm coming back!
what i woulf need in this game is progression. thus meaning: more abilitys more weapons. i would LOVE to see more chapters (fuck the lore. vermintide tried to stay on course with lore and threw it overboard in vermintide 2 so deathwing can do it too) and for the love of god a remake of meele. there is near to no feedback for meele. its like swinging against air and suddenly the product in front of me bursts into pieces. the moment ive realised the sparks of the stormcannon projectiles arent actualy the places projectiles hit but a premade animation for sparks without affiliation to the projectiles hitting the enemy was the moment i refundet back at release.
Let's face it, even if you get none of that - you are still going to do do a co-op playthrough with me :D - "looks" like there's adaptable skills rather than new ones, CDR etc etc. So a small step in the right direction. Personally I think a DLC (Paid) will be needed for it to become a beautiful butterfly.
i wouldnt even mind paid dlc. the Enhanced Edition is a step in the right direction a foundation i would like to see expandet. and sure as hell imma coop!

I'd love to see some new maps for this game. Short of that, I don't think I'll be playing this too much. I've already beaten it - and while the graphics are gorgeous and everything feels very 40k, there is no incentive or reason to keep playing. Even if I get a free content patch that lets me put knives on my bolter.
I think the problem with maps is they are so damn large - in the time it would take to make 1 new map - they could probably make several game changing features. Would certainly be nice tho.
Perhaps they go the Eternal Crusade route & let players create content on the Steam Workshop?
To be fair - that's a pretty good call - although now they have a currency and grinding mechanism it would be hard to work that in - would certainly add that replay value that the game is missing though.
I wanted to love this game at launch but holy shit was it bad, like running at 10 fps on my $1,500 pc bad. Really hoping it has been fixed.
it has, just as an experiment i ran it on a trip amd with 4Gigs of Ram. did fine. averaged 27 FPS. Oh i was using a 7770 radeon graphics card.

if it fixes the performance yes. i liked the game a lot as it is but having fps jumping form 20 to 60 back to 20..its just too much. i still play every now and then and im still hoping the EE will make the game what it should be because the potential is there
While it would be nice to see those frame dips go - I have a feeling it's something integral to the games code and probably not an easy fix, or it would have been done a long time ago. Here's hoping though.
i like to believe its just a matter of optimization. if they put some effort into it they should be able to fix it.
You play Assault Termies??? Who plays those guys? The guns in Deathwing are half the fun of it
Their damage output on the hardest difficulty is sometimes the only thing that gets us through a mission :) No one else can kill 5 nids in 1 swing.
Would have brought me back if they brought it out on Xbox but nope just for pc master race and Sony cheers GW

AirsickHydra- Cool, I won't mind buying actual expansions, Hell I would love more maps and missions. Dying Light did this when they made the enhanced version of their game and because of that I ended up buying The Following Expansion. Good on the Dev's for not abandoning this game!

It's a good game but most certainly not perfect..it's missing something. .maybe pvp..but it definitely needs traitor Marines or orks to give it that little something extra that would have made this a great 40k game
Like you already said, it lacks proper melee combat, enemies are not indiviudal (as well as their death secenes), and it misses on a loot/gain system like other games (Vermintide 2 is also not good, but better). That are the big downsides for me.
this game is a porsche but only drivable on 30 kmh street, means this game has huge potential but its not implemented.
Those renown prices look WAY TOO HIGH.....makes me feel like someone will try to sell me renown.

The thing I did not like in Deathwing is the lack of surivalism, attrition and strategy. I.e I'd rather NOT have unlimited reloads for ammo. Unlimited ammo reduces this game to a dumb shooter where you do not have to consider how best to use your resources, or the concern you that feel when you only have a few shots left. Now, out of ammo, you would have engage into the melee.
Vermintide on the hardest setting is the only way to play. With friends, and you could play it for countless hours.How many hours in VT uploader?
Agree to a point. Deathwing represents a regression from what many players expected within the genre from the standards set by both VT and L4D. It plays more like an arcade version of the genre instead of survival. Likely intentional but not what many people enjoy about the genre.
Always playing on harder difficulties
When the genestealers run around on all fours looking like demented puppies they kind of missed the leathality and point of them. That and the fact Bolt rounds feel and look like .22LR....
ima purchaser from before it was even released. when it released i found it a lackluster empty game. exploring has no reward. its more like get your damn objective done or just get worn down and die. course i played it on the hardest difficulty. i think the game was unbalanced. i get genestealers slicing you to ribbons. when i started the ranged monk dudes with auto guns would like kill you and teamates in seconds though. im like wtf. this is glass cannon land. game blows. wasnt fun. I hope thats changed and new stuff is there. itd be nice to have anything.
Bought this for XBONE. Instantly I wanted a refund. I LOVE 40k, but my gosh was this bad. The first thing I noticed was the horrible sound quality. It sounded like it was in a tin can. The second thing I noticed was the weird feel of the game. I'm driving a massive, several ton space marine around, but it feels like I'm controlling a Roomba. For the life of me I can't understand why GW keeps giving their rights to just any old developer.

Maybe it's because I have no friends to play with but...I got bored of this game. I never even finished it. I actually rage quit at the CAT mission. The difficulty spikes at random intervals, the enemies all look too alike, the mechanics and how damage is calculated just doesn't seem to make sense. Is there something I'm missing?
Single player is a completely different story, you are right. For me it took about 10 minutes to get bored, but for a mixture of reasons when putting the difficulty up on the harder settings, it just clicks. There's certainly a few units that can 1 hit you, takes a while but you learn to recognize them.
Maybe it'll be better when it comes out on console, where most of my friends are. Do you know how much it will cost?
iF ITS FREE 2UPDATE then its nothing to be concerned about, id play it, since i newer handled the linearity and dullnes of the original game/
The game performed so bad since day one on my pc i had to forget about it. Literally unplayable, lagging as hell every step. I wouldnt recomend it if you dont have the most expensive rig.
i've heard similar stories - it seems pretty hit / miss. My frames are stable and i'm only using an Rx 480 which is hardly high end. Hmm!
I wanted to like this game, but man it sucked.
this game wasnt polished, full of bugs and tyranid animations were very cringe and robotic. Thats why comunity abandoned this game. Dont lie the viewers.
Well you are entitled to your view but to me it was a monotonous slog fest of simple point and click combat without any notable learning curve or narrative. Even a million bucks into animation refinement wouldn't have kept myself or my social circles on the game for a longer than we spent because at the end of the day it was just shallow and we ran out of things to do after a couple weeks or less.
Regarding the bugs I never saw or had an issue past the first major patch, which granted we had to wait a fair while for. I did however state it had a bad launch which was plagued by bugs. Granted yes that caused many people to leave but I never said anything to the contrary. If there were still game breaking issues within the game, I never saw them.
I'll also gladly accept that every player is different and i'm sure some people took issue with animation quality to the point of leaving, but i'd be certain they are not the majority. There's no shortage of games with poor animations that are successful but games that look pretty but aren't enjoyable though, look at DOWIII.
