Yeah! The actual theme/setting of this franchise is so versatile that (almost) everything (rts, hack 'n slash like Space Marine, fps like Darktide, etc) fit into it Same goes for Mario franchise due to his theme/setting too (the difference between him and Warhammer tho- is that it's family-friendly)
Hi, I was the Producer of the '92 Space Crusade. I'm glad that it's sometimes featured on TH-cam. I wish I still had the actual board game I was originally given by Games Workshop at the time to design the actual video game!
Wow! It was one of my fav game on the Amiga! 2 questions that never let me rest: - Is the game balanced for 1 player? (you draw "event card" every turn, so it always applied to that single player) - Can a gretchin shoot with 2/2? I've never saw it, only 2/1 was the max.
@@bladewatcher9463 Hi, I'm glad you liked. I'd love to be able to answer your questions but after 40 years and numerous games later my memory isn't good enough to remember that detail. I think I stuck to the board game rules if that helps.
Thanks for making the video 😊 What about the following games? * Warhammer Online (2008) * Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide (2015) * Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters (2022) * Total War: Warhammer III (2022)
So I guess Warhammer is a lot of things. An rpg, strategy game, fps, third-person shooter (tps), etc. Edit: It can even be a variant of American Football
First and foremost it is a table top war game. They were smart with licenses and did multi-genre games in the Warhammer universes(fantasy and 40K) Blood bowl is a spin off table top game of Warhammer Fantasy and ironically the video game adaptation is the only one that attempts to be as much like the table top version as possible.
Inaccurate. Also missing games like Eternal Crusade which has been the best FPS variant to date. We're hoping Space Marine 2 will take that title when it comes out.
Being born in 1984, playing pc and console games for years and years for some reason I always stayed clear from warhammer games and ignored them until this year. After finally looking into it and realizing ive been mossing sooooooo much. Ive been pulled into it and have been watching and reading as much as I can. I wish I had played Dawn of war 1 and Winters. It looked amaZing. I was into SC and Aoe those years. Might and mayic...etc. Emperor, forgive me. But now all that I do is in your name and mankinds. For the Emperor!!!
So much time spent playing space hulk and final liberation. Such amazing games (although would have loved final liberation to get more races and units).
These two are actually the best games (the Blood Angel Space Hulk one is incredible). Final Liberation was left unfinished, games workshop and their terrible decision making...
Oof. I still remember Final Liberation. Most of the time it was fun, but sometimes, the AI messed up real bad. Even in a Exhibition Match you couldn't had a good fight against the AI, because it choosed mostly flyers which never ended their turn or took ages to finish it. My friend had it, that some Gretchins killed a Warlord. However they managed to do that
Among those ones, I think useful to mention, even if they are not officials : -Call of Warhammer (or Rage of the Dark Gods) -The Sundering Two mods for Medieval 2 Total War : Kingdoms, and I (kind of) believe, what triggered GW and TCA to work together. And to add another one : -Warsword, for Mount and blade : Warband

I became a fan of the fantasy universe because of Chaosbane, even though that game could be better. Got sick and tired of Diablo 4's connection issues and their online play requirement so had to return to play Chaosbane. I recommend buying the slayer edition.
many games skipped - End times - Vermintide, total war 3, Warhammer online, Eternal crusade, Dark Nexus Arena for example. But tnx for video anyway, it's great)
Thanks for making the video, but....i must to ask: and the following games? * Warhammer Online (2008) * Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide (2015) * Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters (2022) * Total War: Warhammer III (2022)
History yes, but uh… I was expecting more 40k with the Emperor, Horus, Primarchs, Chaos demons, etc… I’m trying to get into the lore, who is Sigmar? and there are Dwarves in this universe?
To me the introduction was first Dawn of War game, the one with epic intro where the baldie marine dies rising the banner. Aside from that not much remarkable except for Space Marine 1 and recent games. I mostly avoided 40k games because they butchered DoW series later on but ended up playing lately because it became trending on TH-cam and also Warhammer+ movies definitely kept me in the loop. Not a fan of Darktide but I think production team did great keeping assets up to 2020 standards. Enjoyed Total War WH3. Also Space Marine 2 is currently cherry on top. I have always wished for more Dune games since Dune 2k as I liked the dark grim universe. It seem to be far-fetched right now, so sticking with 40k
So many Warhammer games, yet few remain remarkables
Chaos Gate 98 for the win!
Absolutely low effort on their part.
Wtf, the tried EVERYTHING with this franchise.
Yeah! The actual theme/setting of this franchise is so versatile that (almost) everything (rts, hack 'n slash like Space Marine, fps like Darktide, etc) fit into it
Same goes for Mario franchise due to his theme/setting too (the difference between him and Warhammer tho- is that it's family-friendly)
Dawn of War is where it really happened, Warhammer 40k became famous
I have to admit Dawn of War II got me into Warhammer overall
that's why in Space Marine 2 you know I'm going to be rocking the Blood Raven's colors
yeah agreed the rts wasd my first game!
...plus Space Marine 1 and 2 carry this franchise on afterwards
same here. And the fact that now i can play as a Blood Raven (same marines from dawn of war I) in space marines 2 is so freaking cool
I've replayed the Dark Crusade campaign many times. Soulstorm campaign was a let down compared to it.
Hi, I was the Producer of the '92 Space Crusade. I'm glad that it's sometimes featured on TH-cam. I wish I still had the actual board game I was originally given by Games Workshop at the time to design the actual video game!
I grew up with it and the board game, cheers 👍
cool
Wow! It was one of my fav game on the Amiga!

Bloodball was my Start in the warhammer universe😂
Argh, my ears. HeroQuest music is a nightmare rhythmically
You prolly are not a true nerd, to make such a statement.😑 P.S. at least the ost of Heroquest 2 it is still tolerable after all isn't it?😅
Will that is grimdark
I'm assuming that was the jank Atari ST version... that and Space Crusade. It was much better on the Amiga and even the C64
I played Final Liberation for long long years and loved it dearly... i just wished they would bring back such a game today.
Final Liberation is probably the best one they made. Space Hulk Blood Angels.. is also really excellent..
WH40k kill team looks fun asf wish I played it at the time
Kill Team was a bad, short twinstick shooter that was completley unballanced. It was not a lot of fun.
To summarize: whenever a Warhammer game gets introduced life flip a coin
Inaccurate. Also missing games like Eternal Crusade which has been the best FPS variant to date. We're hoping Space Marine 2 will take that title when it comes out.
Yes!
Eternal Crusade was third person.
Dark Omen = GOAT
Games Workshop: "It’s MY IP to sit on and do nothing with!"
Man what a time to be alive to Warhammer!
The lack of a game that played like Fallout classic is just painful.
Imagine Space Hulk with those mechanics.
Freeblade and Boltgun are my favorites.
Oldest one I own is the Platinum Edition of Space Hulk for the Amiga which was one of the few games we kept when we sold our original Miggy.
WH40k: Rogue Trader, from owl at, great games, should also be on the list
I played Space Hulk 1993 as a kid and I was terrified...

Space Marine 2 just came out a few weeks ago in 2024.

Shadow of the horned rat! One of our first games on Windows 95. First CD-Roms.

not really, they different settings, Wh40k is a different and Warhammer Fantasy is a different setting, not interconnected but kinda connected
