- This Space Hulk: Tactics PS4 is an honest review and shows that Space Hulk: Tactics is a pretty good turn-based strategy game. After reviewing Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus, I promised another honest review of a similar game.
Set in the 40k universe, Space Hulk: Tactics is based on the classic board game Space Hulk. It's a decent isometric strategy game that sees you playing as Terminators or Genestealers (the tyranids in truth)
I do long and detailed, honest reviews and this is exactly the same for this PS4 review for Space Hulk: Tactics.

This seems to be a pretty authentic digital adaptation of the board game. Turning cost points in the tabletop and overwatch is essential in it too. It's all about covering your lanes and calculated risk. Perhaps it seems slow compared with modern tactical videogames but i think that's reflective of the board game which I played often around 25 years ago...
Hopefully there are some other people online who've got it in the latest sale. After a quick refresher of the rules, I'd be happy to play a few games online with anyone reading this.

Didn't you find the AI kinda dim? I often caught it making pointless moves (spawning in sealed areas, playing far too cautiously etc)
I actually found the gameplay of Space Hulk 2013 to be downright unforgiving when I played through on normal difficulty given the genestealers can kill a single terminator in 1 hit.

this game is bundled with space hulk deathwing on the playstation store for 9.99 is that a deal ?
I wasn’t really a fan of Deathwing if I’m honest. It was clunky and not a massive amount of fun. So in my case, I’d be paying 9.99 for tactics. If you can find it cheaper on its own on sale, that would be my instinct. Try and watch a bit of gameplay footage for Deathwing. If you like it as well , it’s a decent price (I assume we’re talking dollars?)

It's such a shame that Mechanicus is so highly ranked amongst the Warhammer video games. Mechanicus isn't that great of a game and it's pretty underwhelming in terms of the turn based tactics genre. I think I'll try Space Hulk Tactics it though and see if it might be a good enough game to get me interested in the Warhammer series. There's GOT to be a good Warhammer game out there somewhere but all the ones I've tried out have been mediocre games in general and underwhelming in their respective genres... I'm on a mission to get invested though.
Vermintide was my first game and it's a blast with friends. I also enjoyed Chaosbane(diablo3 style) and inquisitor which is more in depth. Spacehulk deathwing is a little funky, but fun with friends. Get it on a sale.
Battlesector is pretty damn good
