    Each to their own.. There is a secret to getting the bones out without having to cut them out.. when you have got the fillet off you start to skin half the fillet (from the tail towards the gut cavity) and rip the other half with your hands and all the bones will come out in the process no stuff around

    • @NevsFishing
      @NevsFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This trick actually doesn’t work with these flathead for some reason, I’ve tried it and it rips the flesh. It works in Vic though

    Do you have any tips on choosing a colour of soft plastic for flathead?The water I fish in is clear blue water and is about 3 metres.I was looking at the baby bass colour and wakasagi from the baitjunkie 3.2 inch minnow, would that be good?

    why did you scale it if you were taking the skin off the fillet? I've seen a few people not even bother scaling flathead. I'm just curious because I seem to be catching a few of these lately and I'm going to try cooking them up next

    Question: why did you have to scale the fish but filet and skinned it? Could have just skipped the scaling step if you're gonna skin it.

    Nice catch but, you cut the most important part: How to fillet a flathead? And with hot oil, you do not drop the food pieces in it to splash oil every where 😅

    dont fry with olive oil, dude. use canola
    olive oil burns too low and should just be a seasoning or very low cooking oil

    If you take the skin of anyway... why scale it? Just extra work without a real benefit.

  • @lilpeteryo
    @lilpeteryo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why’d you scale it if you’re taking the skin off just wondering

    • @NevsFishing
      @NevsFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably dont have to😂 i just do it to get the slime off and so I dont blunt the knife as easy on the scales

  • @generaymond9282
    @generaymond9282 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    kev you waste time scaling when you can fillet then skin your fish

  • @jimjohnston4181
    @jimjohnston4181 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Y did you bother scaling the fish when you skinned it any way 😓 and it sounds like your trying to hard sammy hitzchy too hard.
