- In this video we catch, clean and cook a calamari squid!! The video starts off at the pier where I catch the squid and later moves onto the rocks where we clean and cook it up!

for years we have been searching the cosmos for signs of alien life, the whole time it's been right here under our noses and we've been frying it in batter and eating it with lemon and spring onion.

Its so refreshing to see a bloke catch and then eat his catch instead of releasing. And you kill simply and humanely. And you are young bloke too!...who cooks too! I agree with another comnent...you forgot the salt & lemon. Another trick..if you premix half corn/riceflour with your flour it will help the batter to become lighter & slightly crunchy! Top stuff fella and keep on enjoying the ocean & outdoors.
Im in SA squid are abundance here as well at times. Good show m8 but you forgot to add lemon and salt with pepper to your cooked squid .You will find it taste more scrumptious with all three ingredients .Try it next time .:) Happy fishing ....

I have been trying for ages to catch a squid and you’re the first person to share some easy and useful information about what I should be doing. Loading up Google Maps as we speak.

Interesting video; very different from squid jigging here in cold waters you need a dry suit to go in.
I wonder if the gas stove, frying pan, and big jars of flour took up so much room on the bike there wasn't any left for a fork, small spatula, set of chopsticks, etc for doing the cooking with instead of sticks laying on the ground?

Bud, if you tilt and shake the pan like you do a wok, they'll turn nicely. Normally if something's cooked enough, it's loose from the bottom. You'll evenly cook that squid. And yes, my mouth is watering 🤣. I'm sure you enjoyed eating your catch.

Great video! I tried this morning but failed.
Can I ask why you have a float on 1 line but not the other?
Different depths in the water column, the jig would not catch a squid if it was left on the bottom so the float holds it up and adds more realism. I haven’t seen Nev use a float in his recent vids.
