Hi, I have always watched Asian and African people dry foods in the sun and I would like to do the same. I noticed that bugs and other insects don't seem to be attracted to the food that is drying. How can I prevent insects from being attracted to food outdoors. Is there something I need to do or know? Thanks in advance.

Your channel just popped up on my page and I am so delighted. While I am not able to use the peri peri seasoning (I am allergic to capsicums), making the crackers and using different seasonings will work, it is the cracker itself I needed to know how to make. Thank you for sharing, I have just been diagnosed with celiac disease and can no longer consume anything with gluten. This looks like it could be a life saver for me when wanting something crisp and crunchy. One question, your rice flour, can that be made at home by simply grinding the uncooked rice down to a fine powder? We buy our dried food in bulk as our nearest grocery store is a 2 hour drive away. So as well as a few different kinds of rice, I also have some “broken basmati” that I use for thickening things…so wonder if that too would be suitable for making rice flour. I hate having to buy things premade if I am able to make it myself. Thanks again for sharing how easy it is to make rice crackers. You have a new subscriber from the Highlands of Scotland.
I haven't tried making rice flour with Basmati rice but other long grain rice like Jasmine and it has worked. Soak the rice in water for some hours (I usually do about six hours), discard the water, rinse and drain the water and then grind it in your food processor or blender. You might have to sieve it afterwards because depending on your blender strength, it might not be able to blend it into very fine powder.
