Miss. Lisitsa, love the POV fingers on keyboard video. So beautiful and elegant is the movement of your hands. I could watch for hours. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and dedicated hard work with us.
As a fellow pianist I’m extremely impressed by your agility and note accuracy. Not only do you do this well but you have amazing expression. Well played.
The third movement ... i already heard it in so many sci-fi movies .... magical and that scale is magical too .... thnx lisitsa ... and th x beethoven for that composition 😍
Thank you so much Valentina! I am learning this piece. You have no ideia how much helpful is a video like this one for someone who has no teacher. I watch every detail of your playing. I am just an amateur who plays for his cats at home, but I feel I am having some kind of masterclass. Thank you again. Best wishes.
the proof of the genius of your performance is that it feels like reading. every bridge sounds like a chapter changing over, introducing a new character, or a change in the story of one we have already met. all the conflicting emotions bringing out a hopeful-sounding harmony. all that fire and softness mingling. Valentina Bella!
Amazing. Love the Go-Pro style, makes me feel like I'm playing. I imagine playing this so well must bring tremendous joy...sadly, it is a joy that I will probably never experience.
@@leesiheon8013 Whoops. You are right. @shadowmustfall1 I did not mean to say never. Just keep hope alive. You never know what will happen. Thanks General Relativity Friedmann Equation.
Absolutely everyone can experience the same type of joy by engaging in anything in which you excel. It shouldn't take half a lifetime to learn that the time spent this way is transformed into a gift which transcends time. The satisfaction gained through the repeated act of honing your craft, whatever it may be- woodworking, sewing, cooking, painting, gardening, volunteering in some capacity, etc- nearly always will grow within your soul, transforming the satisfaction of successful participation in the activity of choice into that joy you believe Ms. Lisitsa experiences when she plays the piano.
@@wrassmussen - I understand @shadowsmustfall1 all too well, which is why I had to say it. I took piano lessons as a kid from the time I was 6 until I was 10, until I just couldn't meet my own expectations, or those of my teacher. I have extremely short, fat fingers that just refused to grow longer in spite of my piano teacher's insistence, nor would they somehow miraculously stretch to reach the keys while I played, even though I was supposed to be able to reach without moving my hand- so simple that even first graders were able to play the songs I simply could not play properly. My teacher wasn't exactly gifted with imagination or perhaps she just could not conceive of anyone learning to play while being allowed to experiment beyond the proper method, or perhaps I could have adapted my playing to accommodate my piano handicap. In any case, I stopped playing, and have never played since. It took the majority of my life to get beyond the bitterness, resentment and envy of the gifted players like Ms. Lisitsa, but once I did, I could begin to grieve my loss and heal. I have found other activities that I am not just good at, but which I have become expert in, and sharing those gifts with others are what bring me joy- the same joy my other comment referenced. If I was able to find that joy again, then anyone can, because I did not believe I would ever get over the devastation I felt so long ago. I don't think I've gotten over it...but I have grown beyond it.
Amazing interpretation....you let it breathe....like a good wine, despite your amazing technical skills...the colors, the textures, amazing job!! You’re already a legend!!
Always i'm thinking, "gonna do this while i listen to Valentina" but I can't, you take all my attention! ❤️ Especially this time with the first person view, very nice :)
My references for this sonata were Brendel and Kempff up until today. In many ways this is the most beautiful interpretation of this sonata I’ve heard so far...
I have not heard anyone else who play this with so much confidence and expression! We can feel the crying in the last movement, and at some moments, the temperal sunshine, which fades away quickly!
Bellissimo Valentina!! By means of your heart and your hands . You made something, that has put sense into craziness called life..The Beauty of it is undeniable. Thank you , these moments remind us that we' are alive.
Amazing.....I played this when younger and had more time. It is a very technical piece....hence a Sonata. Thank you for taking the time to tape these videos and sharing.....amazing
@ValentinaLisitsa Your hands are so magical that they brought us so much joy~ I ALWAYS look at you as a great role model! When I watch your videos I AM COMPLETELY CRAZY!!! (And I also feel I need to practice more ^_^)Love from the United States, CA
I pushed the madness by changing the speed of the recording to 0.25, 0.50 and 1.25 and it gives respectively this; - an organ playing sound. - an amazing choreography of Valentina’s fingers on the keyboard. - a speed that is dehumanizing even Valentina cannot follow. Don’t tell me I am not obsessed by here art.
The entire last movement I was wiggling my head on the music in complete trance of the beautiful music until my roommate came in asking if all was right... amazingly played!
Beautiful performance as always! Filled with emotions and hard work that paid off!! Plus i don't think i would be able to play for 23 minutes straight, wow!😂❤ Can't wait for the next performance!! 😃❤
Bravo. I really appreciate to see how you interpret (wonderfull) this sonate. I'm actually studying it, and I was a little bit confused because a lot of famous pianists are "cheating" during measures 21-40, while playing all the melody with the left hand, This is note good, I think, because you cannot play the whole notes right. I was happy to see that you play it according to partition and it motivates me to do ti this way (harder) which is way more better for the harmony, I think. So thank you and bravo again for your wonderful interpretation !!!
Beautiful tone and interpretation. People would marvel when I told them at Juilliard that I loved piano and chamber music and could discuss both intelligently. For a trombinist. But wonderful performance. Thank you.
Lovely knees :D So I'm a dirty old man, suite me!! But the music is beautiful and the use of the Go Pro is great, seeing the passion with which she plays the keys. Much better than just the old long shots from the side. Great work and kudos to the produces and Val for the innovation. Cheers from Gramps.
Wow, 5 years later we get the full version :D didn't expect that thanks
Glad you did that :),love from Germany

Riveting! What a tempest and then gentle hands that arc gracefully as she plays. What a gift is Valentina.

Love it! Absolutely perfect, it flows and all that rich expression.
Superbly played
Oh yes
What a nice day with dear Valentina and her magic
Thank you
Thanks Herr Beethoven for ‘composing’ the definition of beauty. The world will ever bow before you!

What I like is that she puts many funny expressions in her playing....She's amazing!!!!Greetings from an 13 year old girl admire!!!!
экспрессия - самое ценное в исполнении, ноты любой может прочесть, но исполнить без экспрессии - никак, голые ноты останутся

Your Beethoven interpretations are truly awe inspiring!
Your control over the dynamics and your phrasing are beautiful as always, an amazing performance once again.

Certainly one the most rendition of you, natural and very expressive. I come back very often. 😍

omg! this IS beautiful; the tempo is just PERFECT (I don't know why many good pianists run from/on this sonata as if they were really afraid);
