PART #19063 - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
A 14 year old video and i found exactly what i was looking for! Thank you Dony!
You would not believe what I used to get my valve spring back in my Kohler k141 moto mower snow shark. This video helped me get the job done without the compressor tool.
Thanks Dony. I am in need of one and just got one of eBay for 23.95. I searched you tube and saw your video so I knew you would have the right tool.
Dany is a wonderful guy, I follow every video of him. Thank you Dany
You'e like Mr Rogers for small engine repair.
Thank you!
Great tutorial. I am a novice to this and you made it look easy. Thanks.
Thank you so much. I was given one of those and did not know how to use it. Your the best !
you know your stuff. i have learned ALOT from you keep up the good work
Thanks for this and all your excellent instructional videos-big Help!!!!!
Great video, simple and to the point. Thanks.
Thanks man i have one of those tools i order it through Sears about ten years ago i also learn this in school but still your video's helps alot's
Donyboy73, very nice , clear and well explained video. Kudos
For the price this thing is a real life saver.
Thanks alot this helps me alot best valve video
really informative..thanks
Good video !!! I didn't know how to use one of these. But I need one though. 5 stars !!!!
Thanks! I had a basic idea of how to use this from seeing my dad do it, but I wanted to double check since my 11hp Briggs isn't firing cause of low compression due to valves.
Very helpful!! Thanks
Perfect. Thank you very much!
very good and informative video. Thank you!
Thanks for the video, Donyboy. I'm sure on some engines it really is that easy. With the one I'm working on, not so much. If I ever get the exhaust valves out of this engine, I think I'll release my first TH-cam video, LOL.
great video. Those keyhole shaped retainers are fairly easy to do. Can you do one showing how to remove/install the pesky keepers that are split? I am having a heck of a time doing it. Driving me crazy.
très bien expliquer
thanks
Great video! I'm getting one of these tools! Fixing to work on a Tecumseh H30. I'm having trouble finding the top caps. Would you have any, or know where I could locate some?
Sweet, now I can install comp cam beehivex in my 3800 L67 Grand Prix
@valvesuppliers no problem, make sure to subscribe, thank you
Is the top caps on Tecumseh HM100 valve springs different? Does the intake have a white ring in the cap and the exhaust just have a steel cap? Like one has a oil seal and one don't or is one of mine broken?
Best video
Using them it's easy with tose locking washers.....
I’m using my Dad’s one and I used it when I was 10 in his shop also
do you have to have one of these to fix OHV engines or are those different?
Donyboy73 you are good ! thanks for posting !!! Does this work on OHV as well ? Or is there another type of tool ?
Thanks
Thats nice one my like a C blue point had 25years and boy broken it
@fastcars001 they are different for OVH
How to adjust the valves on this engines please ?
i've a same system on a lawnmower and i don't know how to do it .
Donyboy63, how do you install a valve with both a valve retainer, and valve keepers? I'm a junior in highschool taking a small engines class and both me and my teacher are having problems installing my exhaust valve which uses both a retainer and keepers.
yes sir
I have an early Briggs 5 HP horiz engine that uses a cross pin instead of the keyhold shape hole spring retainer, A inverted depression on the keeper retains the cross pin from exiting during engine operating.
My tecumseh engine feels hard to turn over what is that? Lack of lubrication? or the valves being tight? I'm rebuilding a go kart engine, also when I took the sump cover off inside looked like some slight damage in a couple places of the aluminum and on the lifters base, looks like theres a circular crack,im replacing them but maybe the engine blew at one point in its history.
I also have one that looks like a large C"clamp. Would u shyw how to use that one?
is this tool different from a regular engine one or is this just for use in small engines?
hello dony i have honda gx 240 it makes blue smoke when I starte it can you give me advice please
Awww i was waiting for it to got BOINNGGG out of the tool when he was releasing the compression it
Can you do one showing how to remove/install the pesky keepers that are split? I've tried for two weekends now and I'm losing my patience. I really need to know how to get the split keepers back in and in place.
Hello,
Just a quick comment.
On some engines, there is only one spring retainer. Therefore, after installing the spring, double check that the spring is located parallel to the valve stem. The end of the spring with no retainer may have slipped out of position.
Don, I have a question for you. I have a tecumseh oh195sa engine. Syptoms were no start, 0 psi compression all going out the carb.
Opened the valve cover to find the intake valve spring retainer broken in two. Rocker arm not damaged, valve stem slightly damaged to the point it wont slide out of the head.
Wondering how this would happen ? Also how can one check to make sure the head is getting oiled? shouldnt there be oil splashing up into the head when the engine is turned over?
hard to say exactly, I would have to see it
Without this tool it is possible using a wire to do this, but it is almost next to impossible. For the price the tool is invaluable, especially if you do small engine work allot.
any way to get them in with out the compressor???????
They also make a spring compressor tool that looks like a C-Clamp for small gas engines. It kinda depends on the engine design.
Can you make a video on how to reinstall valves?
Do I have to remove the valve spring in order that I do a valve job via a Lapping tool?
Str8sixfan yes
Hi Donyboy,
I farted around with my 5HP snowblower for weeks. Made sure that the engine was getting fuel, spark, and then tested the compression (40 psi dry, 60 psi wet) finally found that the valve spring retaining clip was broken.....
Have you ever seen this while working on tecumseh's? How common is this problem?
Thanks
James, Montreal
you can get them on ebay
make a video of it
Hey I have a 1980 5hp Tecumseh. I just rebuilt the thing and had the valves all cleaned and lapped and adjust to the specification. But the valves are knocking when it turns over, do you know how that can be fixed?
maybe the clearance is too large between the valves, you may need new ones
is this tool a must for doing this job ? :)
I've have seen a few of these motors grenade out the side where the starter sits. You can take off the starter and see the casting with a big round crack, along with the connecting rod sticking out the hole;( What could be the cause of this?
Engine rpm too high
it's another tool for OHV
@donyboy73 Ok cool !!
Valve seat question on a HMSK100. I have this intake valve cap\seal thing. I tried to press it into the valve guide on top of the valve spring. It refused to go in. how is this thing supposed to go in? Which way is pointed up? I've already destroyed one and I got another one on order. Do I even need it? Let me know
I think the notch points upward
it may burn oil if it's not there
@soverato3 pliers and screwdrivers , lol
they're like $20
This is meant for side valve engines. honda is overhaed
just small engines
check ebay
This doesn't help me one bit with a seized valve.
It won't work on 4cylinder engines
what if your valve spring has only the retainer cap and no top cap?
my engine is a briggs and stratton 252707-0718-01
here is the sears link www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/BRIGGS-STRATTON-Parts/Lawn-garden-engine-Parts/Model-252707071801/1245/1503500/00052638/00001
I have the same problem, so when Donyboy keeps saying "simply", it is somewhat irritating - there is no 'simply' about it: I just cannot get the damn tool onto that end of the spring.
that doesn't work for an OHV
Ñ
can easily be done faster and easier with just a flat blade screwdriver. Good vid, but you need a better camera. Quality is terrible
Do I have to wear gloves??!!!!(lol)
sure!
Thanks Dony. I am in need of one and just got one of eBay for 23.95. I searched you tube and saw your video so I knew you would have the right tool.
