Definitely a summer “cabin” for a wealthy family. I would say the original part was built in the 1950’s. Upgrades and additions in the 1970’s. So sad it will be demolished. So much worth saving......

That was not a cheap home back when it was built. Really appreciate the detail of older homes. Thank you for documenting it before someone scrapes it to build a Mc mansion in its place. Stay safe out there.

The first room you showed us with the beautiful view of the lake, l noticed a clothesline in the yard. What an absolutely wonderful place to be whilst hanging out the washing! The place had a seventies vibe and would have been really nice to live in. Glad you got to document it before it gets demolished. The view of the lake is absolutely amazing and the owners who will build a new home will be truly blessed to live there in a new build!🦘😁☺🤗💚

What a shame! Such beauty. I've watched tons of these videos and I can't believe so many homes that "could be" were just ABANDONED... so strange! Why is that? In the USA abandoned homes are dilapidated and just nothing like this. Too bad. Thanks for sharing the video! Very beautiful at one time and what use of space! I NEED THAT, LOL

@@colleb95 I know, that's what I'm saying. I would expect it to be worse though if she laid there for a month is what I was getting at with the cold air from the lake. Growing up in Michigan, it's always cooler so maybe she wouldn't leave the contamination spots I would expect. They are for sure messed up and up the wall on one side until the top few steps. BUT here, crime scene investigation people wouldn't clean it up, family has to hire someone. After a month, really most contamination like that, they'd have to pull up those steps and out that wall. Could have been cleaned by a non professional but then why would it be abandoned if they took that time and effort to clean it???? By all means, I'm no crime scene person and the extent of my experience is being on several scenes with different biological contamination and minor education on it down south... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Who knows. Interesting though.

When it comes to internal bedroom door locks they usually have a small hole in the middle of the handle. All you need is a nail or piece of coat hanger to push in the hole and it will unlock. It's a safety thing built in so kids can't lock themselves in if there's a fire or their to young to know how to open the door from the inside. I'm sure every abandoned house you've been in has at least one coat hanger left behind so you'll always have a key. ;)

About the 2 separate closets in the pink bedroom... it looked like the downstairs bedrooms were for their children, pink for a girl and blue for a boy. If they had 2 girls the sisters may have each had their own closet to avoid fights over clothes. The closets didn't have to be huge since it was a vacation home. The house seems to have been specifically designed for the owners.

7:50 That could be a broiler, or just a second smaller oven.
My family home has a similar oven (it's even burgundy) and it still works. My brother used to make hot dogs in the top part, but ours looks different.

Honestly if that place is run down and in poor shape then the house I live in is laying in the dirt , that place is Beautiful and the view of the water is breath taking . I'd love to live in a nice house like that . But I'm greatful to have a roof over my head and heat to stay warm in the winter .

Definitely needs to be demolished. What a wreck! The property is so great though.

If you had a family and the money the house could be repaired and brought up to speed. It is in good enough shape to be brought back.

I love beach houses! How much of the year is it warm enough to swim in that lake? Omg the olive green carpet. My BFF from about 5 years old had that in their house. In VA a lot of people own/rent places on the Outer Banks of NC. I’ve stayed in cottages they were 100 plus years old to brand new. They never disappoint. Hope the one that replaces this one is a good one. Peace and Merry Christmas! ❤️

Honestly you only probably get like 3 solid months to swim in it. Cottages are always nice especially if you can swim. Merry Christmas ☃️

That’s funny regarding the green carpet as my parents home had the same carpet 😂
