    Not 60's kitchen, appliances are 90's and the cabinets as well could even be early 2000. The house might be 1960's But remodeled in the 90's early 2000, I speak from experience gained from remodeling several homes in the 90's and early 2000. My husband is the carpenter and I am his helper😊

    Way more than a shame, it's a tragedy. It's such a human thing to destroy something so great and nice for really no reason. This house was beautiful, loved, and magnificent. So many would've loved to live here, like myself. It was painful to watch this video knowing the house is already gone and we can't do anything.

    This house is hilarious! I want it, and I wouldn't change a thing! Ha ha! This house is too clean for it not to have been remodeled. The ceramic top electric range top oven wasn't around until the 80s and the interiors of the kitchen cabinets and the bathtubs/sinks are also too clean to be as old as the 1960s. The carpet (except for the downstairs) also looks new. Even so, this house was well cared for and kept clean. Prior owner probably a little OCD even! Such personality! Terrible to demolish it. What a waste.

    This has more of a 70's decorating. The kitchen has been updated in the 80's I 'd say but the appliances are newer at least 2000's. The main bathroom upstairs has a new sink and faucet definitely 70's decorating mixed with some 80's

    That place was incredibly well maintained. Someone's grandma really loved that place until very recently. Haven't been in a house like that since the 90s. And I'd totally snag those light fixtures in the upstairs bathroom.

  • @FiveElements00
    @FiveElements00 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    This home is/was very nice. I see a lot of 1990's touches. Some of the light fixtures and the border wallpaper is from the 1990's. Sad they tore this down. People don't know what's good, don't value the past building beauties.

    Hey Noah, I REALLY like this house! I tend to like those houses that y'all find that are just falling apart and packed with stuff from the previous tenants. This house is utterly PERFECT. It seems, to me, to be the compete opposite of one of your old explores. I think you even ran into Greg on the explore I'm thinking of.
    The layout of this house is VERY similar to that house. I remember that old house was dripping and almost completely fallen in. There were books everywhere. I think it was a very German house. It still had power, even though the sky was visible in the living room.
    THAT was a GREAT explore! And so is this one! It's nice to see a PERFECT house every once in a while. Even though they almost always have a sad fate 😢

    Our house was built mid-60's. All those appliances in that kitchen are relatively new. That bathroom too , with the green tub. Would have had a matching green sink and toilet. Alot of times those sinks had a chrome edge and it would rust. What a shame to demolish such a nice house.

  • @mustangsally0928
    @mustangsally0928 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That’s not a 60s kitchen it has been totally updated. Those are fairly newer era appliances probably put in in the mid 2000s. Appears to be an older couple that lived there for many years and just kept it up really well.

    Love this house! I think the downstairs room with the fridge that smelled like alcohol was a booze storage area. Upstairs was redone in the 80s and downstairs is late 60s, early 70s. They partied big time down there...just look at the carpet and wallpaper...Vintage Circus Circus Vibes! I'd move in and throw a huge 70s themed party! 😂🎉❤😊

    This house is in such a good condition it almost looks like someone built it 20 years ago in the sixties fashion. This was a riot Noah. Right from beginning to end. You certainly can tell when people take care of their home. It was in excellent shape! I thought the color scheme on the first floor was out there, & then you went into the basement. Wow. I wonder if the owner was colorblind. Kidding. I’m no expert, I’m just way older than you, but the kitchen was definitely updated. The cupboards were from 80’s Even 90’s(my parents bought a knew Tudor in later 70’s & we had the same plush carpeting throughout. Just not all those colors😂)I think that bathroom with the green tub would have had a green sink originally. That green tub was definitely original. Loved the fireplace. Loved all the different small chandeliers. They were pretty. It’s really a shame this isn’t going to be sold. It seems like your area has a major influx of people. So many beautiful homes being destroyed. Thanks Noah. That was so much fun. This is my favorite home that your filmed because of all the colors. You know that frig you opened that smelled of alcohol? Hmm makes you think if they were tipsy when they decorated 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

    @mackhopper ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Noah, thank you for the tour of this house! I wish you had shown the outside, too.
    But, being someone who has renovated a 1960’s ranch style house and helped a couple of friends style their midcentury dwellings to reflect mid-century style, I can tell you the inside of this home has been re-styled from its 1960’s original designs. The upstairs, that is. The downstairs is my family rec room from 1968!!! all that beautiful wood paneling and built-ins make me weak in the knees!
    But, upstairs? The upstairs looks like a 1980’s Po-Mo re-style. That kitchen is a complete re-do. The only thing original in that bathroom is the bathtub. The rest of that bathroom is a mother renovating after the 7-kids got out of the house! The original toilet would’ve matched that bathtub and the fabulous tile in that space is not authentic to the period (even though I agree with you that it looked great!) The tole enamel lighting could’ve been authentic, but this was also a design element that was extremely popular in the 1980’s (although, I once owned a 1950’s filigree gold tole chandelier, so you never know.)
    Bathroom #2 was THE BOMB! That tile work was immaculate. It is unfortunate that this bathroom did not have its original toilet or sink, but that’s okay.
    The original upstairs probably has immaculate wood floors, throughout. Plush shag carpet seduced our mothers in the 1970’s - and it took over. They even carpeted over the terrazzo marble floors of my Catholic Church. But, all of that carpet helped preserve wood floors in homes.
    I wish you could salvage all of those beautiful knob-inset closet doors for me. I had that they are going to be demo’d. Damn, it breaks my midcentury, retro heart!!! But, if you can, try to see if the powers that be will let you salvage the swag lamps and some of the lighting in this house. You could make some money off of these pieces. I hate that so many wonderful designs are going to get destroyed…and for yet another pathetic, soulless McMansion!
    I LOVE your appreciation for this dwelling. I look forward to kore of your videos!

    The basement carpeting and wallpaper, as well as that ornamental light fixture is actually aggressively 1970s. Whoever owned this home took incredibly good care of it. Also, judging by the safety rails by the toilet and bathtub, they probably were there still when they were quite old.

  • @kristen34896

    I believe the box in the closet next to the fireplace was for firewood and the thing you pulled off was probably the poker for the wood. That was a huge spider, gross lol. It is very similar to my parents house in Australia, that my 101 year old dad still lives in. Ours is not in as good condition such as the carpets and kitchen cabinets and wallpaper. It is 100% original built in 1960. My husband and I plan to restore it in the future to its original condition. Only cosmetics needed. My parents bought it when I was 12, it was fifteen years old. It really was a mansion and I felt so rich to be living in it. Its a run down mansion now but I see the value in the style of the era it was built.❤

    Noah, our home was built in 74. Purple master bedroom carpet, red carpet in dining room and living room, another bedroom with a celery color carpet, 1 bedroom with indoor/outdoor carpet, and the 4th was a little bit darker than celery. The den had shag that was basically the same colors as the den in this house. I told my husband that the carpet was the first thing that had to go! But yeah, for the age, this house is very clean. It's cool how the carpet is doing a gradient of pinks on the walls and ceiling. The kitchen cabinets are from the 1990s. Drake demolished a mid-century mod designed by James A. Murray; to build a 50,000 sqft super mega mansion. There was a Historic MCM in San Francisco that was demolished; a court ordered a new home to be built identical to the one that was destroyed.. not sure if they appealed the ruling.

    What an era the 60's were for decorating! You can tell someone loved this home at one time. What a shame that it has to be torn down.😢

    The house appears to be a mix of 60’s, 70’s with an 80’s/90’s kitchen, appliances look newer. Amazing how spotless it is! A lovely home for its time. The pink is hilarious but I do like it! 😆

    Absolutely love that place - that being said I would take out the upstairs carpeting and use the hardwoods. Basement carpeting needs replaced, basement bathroom sink counter would go. And definitely the SPIDERS would go!! 😂

    I love the colored 60/70’s tub and sinks and toilets. I even liked the yellow sink. It matched the yellow flowers in the wallpaper. The swag lights were to die for. I would definitely use them. I would love to live there. It is way better than my run down 1920’s house.

    I like the way you take your time when you look at things. Some explorers whip the camera around and make me nauseous. Also you have plenty of light. Its hard to see things in the dark. Good job!

    Beautiful 1960's house. Looks like it was updated in 1990's/early 2000's.

    This reminds me of my parents house when I was growing up. They had similar styles but my mom chose beige carpeting not pink or red! I can almost guarantee that there is hardwood everywhere. People just did not want to care for hardwoods in the sixties and seventies. Much more labour intensive than now. I remember my dad using a polisher on the floors a few times a year. They also had the same tile as the upstairs bathroom except it was white with brown! Very nostalgic tour for me.

    Now that's what you call a time capsule! I love it just the way it is!
    Just needs a few changes, like new paint, remove the borders, new curtains, new carpet, master bath tile replaced, new windows, light fixtures, move the dryer closer to the washer or vice versa, new circuit panel, new paneling in the basement and it's pretty much move in ready for me.
    (Shwew 💦)
    Thanks for the tour Noah, much enjoyed!
    🤠👍
    Notes:
    11:26 Heat current from the bulb, not a fire, it may have been left on full time.
    11:39 I don't care much for bathroom floor tile applied to the walls, too much grout to clean.
    16:22 Poor old Aunt Edna wouldn't be able to find her way out of the room.
    Bam! Aunt Edna was that you?
    Hold on.

    That is a standard common 90s kitchen reno, and the bathroom looks like it had some upgrades in the 70's and 80's too, the vanity sink is def 90's/00s, some of those fittings are def collectable ;)
