The important thing is to respect the hard-working and intelligence. This country has so many opportunities. Besides, it's in the middle of nowhere and not ideal for office space, or to have people driving home at night from a secluded location like that. I was Born here in Ontario and it breaks my Heart that young people have No Respect. I would like to see them build such a place, their Attitude would be a 180.
Problem is he has written developers have bought the property. It is coming down. Anyone could move in, but if you fix it up, time comes it will all come down. You have to look for that. What is happening? A person could have moved in years ago and lived rent free for quite some time, but you have to move when they tear it down. Still, it is worth fixing up if you can live there 10 years rent free.
The lossers that destroyed that home should be jailed. what a nice home. when i was young I would have never even thought of doing, something like that. Its because parents, stop teaching morals, sad.
I guess that's why Jesus will return, too much violence, the world is off balance, people takes things without owning them, they steal and rape everything, even property.
I’ve seen this house explored several times. Each time it gets sadder. I wish a salvage company would please take the logs and doors. And then just tear it town. It breaks my heart. All the green, early 1990s. But still it was someone’s dream home.
The logs are still good. I would guess about 100,-160,00 in renovations...maybe even less could be move in ready.. looks bad but not that bad... the real cost is the logs which have already been done.
JJJ SMITH I think I saw on one video that it’s in a redevelopment area. That’s why I said salvage it. I agree. The logs are magnificent. Would love to see it updated and lived in but it’s so sad to see it vandalized.
@@susanmiller4159 I would LOVE to have links to videos of the explores you've seen before this place was so trashed. Would you consider posting them in a reply to me? Please?
It would be interesting to try to locate some realtors pictures of the mansion prior to the destruction and to get some history of the place. It is magnificent!
The dream of so many, trashed. Who would not die to own and live in that house? I hope it is sold and renovated/updated/restored. Good video, but very saddening.
Thanks for the walk-thrust......absolutely breathtaking!! Whoever lived in this house must have been devastated to have lost it. I have nothing in me that can even remotely understand who would tear down this beautiful place or vandalize it, for that matter.
This was someones dream house. It looks like someone had to leave in a hurry, or in an emergency never to return. I'm certain there is a very sad story to be told there.
More likely a party house for rich people who own like 20 houses around the world. Maybe "Eyes Wide Shut" types. Only rich people or poor don't have attached garages. The rich don't need that because they have someone pick them up at the door.
Something I've noticed in these abandoned houses is that Christmas decorations, photographs and children's toys are left behind when the people move out, all the things that gave happy memories are left behind,
Kevin Jones, That seems kind of like a red flag to me,i mean even if a family were forced out because of financial reasons..most would never leave such precious memories behind, most would take any Christmas decor with them,to dec their new place & avoid purchasing more,or sell it if it were expensive..al this is of coarse.if they had a choice, most people when moving, leave clothes on hangers & stack or hang them up,not all but at least their dress clothes, this just seemed to look to me like the family was removed & someone with no emotional ties came in & cleared all belongings personal & none..probably didn’t even go thru them, maybe just junked them in a pile with other contents from other homes in similar situations..sure does throw out a red flag for sure..
Because it's work for the lazy, filthy rich to pick up everything and take it with them. They probably took the most valuable things with them. All that matters to the rich is $$$$$
As others have pointed out, filming was done in this house for The Expanse, Season 1, Episode 7; and Hemlock Grove, Season 3, Episodes 2 & 9. It was so beautiful.
As damaged as that house is, it is still in good shape, just needs some caring hands and some investment to bring it back. It could easily sell if restored.
That wood grain on the doors is what impressed me. I had to focus on work-related stuff, but I still saw other potential too. Fixing that plumbing might be a challenge though!

Would love to know who owned it. Probably a movie star that wanted a place to get away without being bothered. That was probably so beautiful in it's days. The wood it still beautiful! Amazing!
Sad af . I would give anything to have a home like that one day. I am in recovery an seeing this gives me hope I can live in a cabin with my kids one day. Gives me hope thanks for the video
Whar a shame that house has been vandalized. It has been a beautiful place. It could be renovated, probably wouldn't cost too much . Even if it did cost a lot , it would be worth it.
This house is absolutely beautiful. One could take it right back to the wood beams as the original frame of the log design, and rebuild. Loved this one!!❤️
Probably the original owners built / bought it in the 1980's, enjoyed it for two or three decades or so, then realized they were sitting on a jackpot of land value for developers and sold it to them. They cashed in basically is my guess and retired.
The most beautiful house I ever seen abandoned and went to waste. The view was very nice. The wood smell was probably so nice. The sauna and laundry room was nice. The balcony and iron stair case was so beautiful.💜🏘️.
Nothing in this place is old dude. You’re just young! This is a modern (within 30 year) build. Decent footage thanks for sharing ! Take nothing but photos leave nothing but footprints :)
I do not understand how anyone could let this beautiful place fall apart. Looks like a fire in that first room behind the fireplace, but still amazing and SO much potential.
The craftsmanship is incredible! I’m a carpenter 17yrs but I will never be able to afford a house as beautiful and grand as this one. I’m just hoping to get back home to Alaska buy a piece of land and build me a small cabin before I’m too old. If only I could find an abandon house and revive it. It’s fun to dream.
I can’t imagine any developer with any brains would demolish this house and dump all those expensive logs and other solid wood. That would not make sense. There are salvage businesses that would love to get there hands on salvaging the logs, doors, cabinets and any other valuable parts. But if whoever owns it, such as the developer, doesn’t get in there soon and get the good stuff out before too long, weather, water and vandals will just continue to devalue what’s left. Sad.
I'm sure the developer will part out the logs and cell to another sometimes even to private the wood in the home will also be sold kind of like buying an old car and selling out the parts.
Looks like someone already pulled down the cedar (or whatever wood was used) from the sauna. There's still much salvageable here, esp moldings, staircases, other woodwork & wrought iron, unless "developers" are one of those outfits too big to concern themselves w/re-purposing. Shame on them, & the bunch who went smashy-smashy on those glass shower enclosures. Likely, folk've been setting up shop here for 100+ yrs, tho doubtful this cabin's anywhere near that age. Still, it must've been nice in it's day, albeit a bit too forced-rustic for my taste.
It’s sad all the damage people have done to such a Gorgeous place...the windows, countertop, sinks are most likely in someone else’s home! Thanks for sharing....
Such a beautiful house. It's sad to see somebody just breaks in and decides to ruin every single wall or window. And it's even sadder to hear they want to demolish it.
A very beautiful home indeed u rarely see log homes like these in the world now very sad this one here went bye bye so very fast from kids breaking the walls down in the home to it bring catch on fire I'm surprised that no one step up to plate and brought this beautiful home and fix it too it would of been so very beautiful today with a new family living there too making new memories indeed.
I was disappointed to read that this log house is being demolished for new development. But what was more upsetting was seeing the needless vandalism on this once loved home. I had a desire to see someone purchase the home and land and restore it to an updated form of it's former glory. Anyways, thanks for showing this gem and I'm new to your channel, good work!
@@barbarapower6651 I did that i gues he doesnt want to tell the location. Ilive in oakville so if it was close i would so rescue that house from the wreacking ball
Clearly many of the folks whom commented are not aware of what (developers / contractors ) do with parcels of land that are purchased in this manner. Since you have not gone into history or location most of this is speculation. However, figuring 50 acres or less, a development master plan can be drawn up and depending on region and zoning laws, 10 to 50 spec (speculation) homes can be built on the site yielding potential ROI (return on investment) of 150 to 300% over purchase price per unit. Figuring a conservative price on the land as the home is considered abandoned and in need of major overhaul, ie: big bucks for one house a developer has the potential to generate millions on the entire parcel. Even with building costs on the rise, each new home can be up and move in ready within 90 days of breaking ground netting $150,000 per unit sold. These are naturally rough estimates not knowing where the home is. To fix and resell the one home with land would only yield for the contractor a few thousand dollars over cost, if not breaking even. This is why a development company will tear down even a beautiful home to build crap homes by the dozens. We collectively buy these junk, cookie cutter homes because they are new and somehow we have confused new with quality. Noah, this is one beautiful home and where it to fall to appropriate hands could be restored and lived in for a reasonable price. Too bad that does not seem to be the case with this gem.

The important thing is to respect the hard-working and intelligence. This country has so many opportunities. I came here with nothing, through education and hardworking, I earned a comfortable life in 10 years. I knew many people they didn't have the chance to go to school but work so hard, they even still can't speak English properly but they also have a humble and comfortable life.
Place burnt down i see.. 😭 sad i bet someone paid to burn it ( the developer that bought the property)

Leave it to a darn "developer" to put in townhouses and tear down this TREASURE FIND! SICKENING!!
They didn’t tear it down, it burned down
Im goig to cry! This house could eazely be renovated with modern up to date tec!
I know! Or at the very least made into a club house for the town house residents. Add a pool & maybe tennis or basketball, access to sauna, pool tables, gym, big kitchen for caters or bbqs, bedrooms could be office space for those running the department or theatres for movie/tv watch parties.
If there was tech in this old house it would ruin it its old fashion. Old fashion and tech dont go together
@@tomashernandez279 Exactly what i was thinking.
It will be! Dozers, excavators, new homes... SAD!
@@ckola30 You don't turn a house that beautiful into office space, or a party house. Besides, it's in the middle of nowhere and not ideal for office space, or to have people driving home at night from a secluded location like that. I would love to buy this house, put $40,000 into restoring it and turn it into a country getaway.
Such a beautiful home! Sickening that someone would ruin it! I hope it will be bought and remodeled. Breaks my heart!
California Gal 🙂👍
I was Born here in Ontario and it breaks my Heart that young people have No Respect. I would like to see them build such a place, their Attitude would be a 180.
This could still be fixed up, tough job but log homes are pretty sturdy. Windows and sheet rock wiring and plumbing .
Exactly my thought. This would make a killer club house for the development. Offices, pool tables, movie rooms, sauna, gym, great kitchen for caters.
Pops Smith 👍👍👍
@@ckola30 excellent 👌 idea
Yes ,fix it for a tenth what it would be to build
The lossers that destroyed that home should be jailed. what a nice home. when i was young I would have never even thought of doing, something like that. Its because parents, stop teaching morals, sad.
Its a shame, cause it looks like solid, "old school" construction. The labor to the the logs, and doors and trim is priceless. Thanks for sharing....
It's definitely someone's dream house for sure. It get worse and worse everytime people visit unfortunately
The logs are still good.
I would guess about 100,-160,00 in renovations...maybe even less could be move in ready.. looks bad but not that bad... the real cost is the logs which have already been done.

that is sadly so true!
But you're a paper slave still.

Unbelievable with the green marble and the wall of fieldstone. The woodwork is incredible, wish I had a million or two to fix it up.

The dream of so many, trashed. Who would not die to own and live in that house? I hope it is sold and renovated/updated/restored.
Good video, but very saddening.
That’s so sad. It was probably such a beautiful home in its glory days.
It's so sad how people destroy things, but I did ENJOY the video. Thank you
The craftsmanship of this structure is incredible ❣️
Thanks for the walk-thrust......absolutely breathtaking!!
Whoever lived in this house must have been devastated to have lost it.
I have nothing in me that can even remotely understand who would tear down this beautiful place or vandalize it, for that matter.
I'm glad you don't give up the location what a shame people go into places and damage it
It really pisses me off when a beautiful house like that is damaged that way. So sad.
My word this style is my favorite. All most my dream home.
Do you just imagine been there and those vandals coming in and beat you up like nothing happens. That's what I'm afraid of.
Something I've noticed in these abandoned houses is that Christmas decorations, photographs and children's toys are left behind when the people move out, all the things that gave happy memories are left behind,
Kevin Jones,
That seems kind of like a red flag to me,i mean even if a family were forced out because of financial reasons..most would never leave such precious memories behind, most would take any Christmas decor with them,to dec their new place & avoid purchasing more,or sell it if it were expensive..al this is of coarse.if they had a choice, most people when moving, leave clothes on hangers & stack or hang them up,not all but at least their dress clothes, this just seemed to look to me like the family was removed & someone with no emotional ties came in & cleared all belongings personal & none..probably didn’t even go thru them, maybe just junked them in a pile with other contents from other homes in similar situations..sure does throw out a red flag for sure..
An AGA stove is worth thousands man... Such a priceless home. Such terrible kids who wrecked it...
I agree with the kids, terrible.
Yes. That was 12k stove new. Probably still ok.

The potential for restoration and beauty is almost infinite for this abandoned home .Amazing video thanks for showing it !
I don't understand how such a beautiful place could be left to rot. I think its not too late to rescue it.
Agreed! :)
Definitely not to late. The house is solid throughout. It just needs some love and a lot of work.... lots of it! I see tons of potential here.
Just add money.
What a beautiful house . I would definately buy it and fix it up if I could afford it .
Same here! :)
Sure you would, NOT!

Such a shame that it was vandalized. It was a beautiful home, the wood is so cool.
THe yellow room is likely a nursery. The drop ceiling would keep the room from being drafty for a baby like most rooms with tall celings can be
The most beautiful house I ever seen abandoned and went to waste.

By looking at the tile, restrooms, and appliances this looks like mid 80s maybe early 90s unless it was remodeled
The vandalists who came to break this log house desserve a long long stay in jail ! Such bums surely can't build anything in life.

@@jeffwilde44 That would be nice ... a win win.
I do not understand how anyone could let this beautiful place fall apart. Looks like a fire in that first room behind the fireplace, but still amazing and SO much potential.
For the life of me I could never understand the desire to destroy something. Even when I was a child. Never made any sense to me.
Ben Cartwright would've loved this!... Tehehe... 😀😀
So very sad this amazing home has been abandoned and vandalized. It should be a crime to tear it down for condos. Hurts my heart.
Beautiful home! Very sad that these homes are wasting away!

It’s sad all the damage people have done to such a Gorgeous place...the windows, countertop, sinks are most likely in someone else’s home! Thanks for sharing....
The vandals came through and smashed everything where it was. I doubt much was removed/stolen and reused.

When was it built, by who, for who? What are the circumstances for why it was abandoned? And when?
Why would a developer not use it as a club house, restaurant or business meeting area? There is definitely more to this story, movie and family.
I would agree but it appears nothing is happening around it so one would thing that isn't the case.
