ITTF needs to figure out how to do this after every single point DURING a broadcast. Same as slow motion analysis in any sport. If ITTF wants to popularize the sport, Finding ways to teach the viewership as they watch is an essential step. What would be sweet is to have advanced realtime analysis of forward velocity, spin velocity, and spin direction, using high FPS cameras. If they can do this, the art of this sport will be broadcast more widely, and poularity will drastically increase.

this is just one of those serve formulas that left spin serve (pendulum) comes back on bh and right spin serve (reverse pendulum) comes back on the fh. easy for Harimoto because XuXin just put it back on the place where Harimoto is expecting. It doesn't always happen though. good basic stuffs, most coach will teach you those within the first month of the training. I would like to see more analysis like this, maybe some more advanced stuffs.

Why would you use harimoto as an example for third ball attack? Xu Xin is known for his strong third ball aggression, as you say so yourself at the start. He would have been a better specimen to examine.

Carl Chen maybe yes, but maybe not. Xu Xin is a left handed penhold player, which is pretty rare in the world (especially outside of Asia). I guess more viewers are interested in the analysis of a player similar to their own style like Harimoto, who is a right handed shakehand player.

Yes I understand, but in the video they don't go over strokes or angle, it's very much about positioning and some spin play. The explanations they'd have given to Xu Xin would have been much the same, except just mirrored. I don't mind terribly, but as one of the best third ball attackers in service, I think it's silly not to use Xu Xin in such prime footage with such a high production cost.

I don't think this video does any in-depth analysis ..... I play a lot of TT, but I think this video is just commenting on what those players do naturally. Both of them did those movements naturally, and not purposely. But this video just try to descrive every little trivial details....

Richard Jia they was using brain to learn this techniques. So, this slowmotion and some analyses are good for beginners like us.
