‘Cysts’ with PCOS are just immature eggs that haven’t matured/ovulated (due to the PCOS!) and it’s also possible to have PCOS without cysts. It’s mainly a metabolic issue (insulin resistance, cortisol) affecting reproduction. ❤ A healthy lifestyle is SO important as by 40 over 50% will have type 2 diabetes! Prioritise protein and fibre (fibre helps combat low SHBG which binds to testosterone!) and lower carb / less processed food. Lower stress, weight lifting is the best for PCOS (body stores excess glucose there!) and 10k+ walking daily. Wholefoods diet, 1g of protein per ideal body weight (140g etc) and lots of fibre. So important 🥗🥩 I’ve had to learn everything on my own since 17. Reversed my own bloodwork and lost 4 stone :)
This is accurate. I had to learn everything on my own too. It’s hard to maintain this for the rest of your life, but the results are worth it. Perhaps a blessing in disguise as the smaller margin for error forces us to be healthy.
The best shape I was ever in was at 49 yrs old. I completely got off of processed food. I’ve never lost so much weight so fast in my entire life. And I even at a lot of fruit. I found I wasn’t as hungry either. I did have heavy organic heavy cream with my coffee every morning too
I've never had a normal period and cysts from a young age, my periods were so painful i had to go to the emergency every month because of the pain and vomitting, and my doctor just said that only pregnancy will help so i went on the pill, i've been on the pill for 4 years and it really masked all the problems i've had - first time having no period at all on the pill which made my life easy, but now i'm quitting the pill because it really messes with your overall and mental health, so now i'm on the yourney to balance my hormones naturally. Thank you for posting a video on this topic, it really helps.
HIGHLY recommend the Carnivore diet. Source: myself why?: because I had thee exact same problems from 16-39….pregnancies did help but after my last child I discovered Carnivore and it CHANGED MY LIFE
This is literally so important for women and so many are unaware of this!! We need to bring awareness of this! Thank you👏🏼 Also for the coffee replacement I drink “Ryze” coffee which is a natural mushroom coffee that consists of different mushrooms grinds that help with energy, metabolism, stress and so many other things. I love it, highly recommend a try, if you’re trying to reduce coffee intake :)
I have some symptoms of PCOS but my labs have always been normal. I’ve recently changed my diet and cut out most of the processed foods I was eating. I’ve noticed more energy to the point where I actually feel like working out. I’m also less bloated and my libido has improved. I still have very heavy painful periods though.
Try Vitex! 3 months on take a break for a couple weeks then start again. Helped me with painful periods. It’s also called chaste tree. Also castor oil packs are miraculous 🙏🏼✨😌
Painful periods - look at improving estrogen-progesteron balance, overall inflammation and your gut. I got rid of my period pain by healing my gut: th-cam.com/video/XMY0rKYBYIQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D6UyTm4uX5NFOqKM
@@nadiacoffey2609 what helped me to get rid of period pain for good was sorting out my gut. Heavy painful periods are mostly because of excess estrogen and gut dysbiosis. Its interesting that you starred running and it has been working for you with PCOS! A lot of advice recommends low impact cardio to manage cortisol. I used to run but find the stress of running was too much so have increased my steps and doing 12-3-30 instead. I also cut down on caffeine by switching to decaf and herbal teas. Have you cut out gluten and dairy as typically recommended for PCOS?
@@promilagonsalves4297 yesss I honestly think it’s quite unique finding what works for you and your lifestyle and experiencing! Caffeine is a big thing for sure. I’ve reduced gluten a lot and some dairy but I love dairy so much, use yoghurt in so much and couldn’t live without, I find a good quality Greek yoghurt works well for me and would reccomend 💖
Hi Olivia. Thank you for a well informed video. The sleep aspect is an area I struggle with as I generally watch TH-cam videos like yours when I go to bed, oops!😂😂. No regrets though!❤

Im wondering how did you managed to get ultrasound? I feel like nhs doesn't do a sh*t, I keep going to gp with very heavy bleeding periods, loosing hair and acne on my whole upper body and they just keep giving me antibiotics and creams which obviously doesn't help at all. Then every time when Im on holiday in my home country I spend thousands £££ for private doctors 😵💫🥴

My gynecologist did mine I ended up needing a DNC it helped so much no more bleeding , try yours especially since it involves bleeding you should go to your OBGYN .
Another think to look into for coffee specifically- A LOT of coffee contains mold and pesticides. It’s important to research what kind of coffee/ brand you purchase from. Also Keruig cups can be bad as well. Because you are putting hot water right on plastic into the mug you’re drinking from
Hey lovely I have a question! I worked out my macros and maintenance is around 2000 so I have been in a deficit of 1650 for a while now but I am not feeling/ seeing a difference! Thank you 🙏🏼 You have such amazing videos that have really helped me xx
A big thing for me is sleep. I need to sleep more (8 hours min). I notice a big difference when I do. Stress management is also important. I meditate to become more resilient. 🙏

Love love love this video!! I have been wanting to explore my hormonal health for quite a while now however my GP is refusing to prescribe me these tests as he thinks they're not essential. Did you go private for these or did you do some online ones (i.e., hertility)? x
Hi! I made an appointment with a local gynecologist and since I told her that my periods were SUPER irregular, she ordered me a full hormone test and ultrasound and I was then diagnosed with PCOS. This was for my yearly check up and Pap smear.
Well, feeling how it began to shrink and eventually disappear within 2 months was so liberating. I followed the steps I mentioned, and within the first 2 weeks the bloating was gone. I simply go'ogled Tilly Strankten's Ovarian Cyst Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.
