Hi nurse Jar I noticed after performing skill you opened up the faucet with same gloves closed back same then placed supplies back into draw with same gloves after touching the faucet is that ok to do while taking skills test?or do they penalize for that? I also noticed same when making up an occupied bed same gloves that removed dirty linens were used to grab cleaned linens is that also ok when taking skills test?
I thought the same thing I thought after you use you basin you rinse it then take a paper towel to dry the inside then take another paper towel to dry the outside. Then take another paper towel to pick up the things she used and to also open the drawer to put things back. She also forgot to ask the patient did they need anything before she leave. She also missed to pull back privacy curtain 🤦♀️

@@lilfoxyma I took it in May ,I passed, yayy.. The questions were things that we really didn't study for, it was almost common sense questions. The clinical part was pretty much the same thing they taught us in class, we just had to focus on what we were doing and do exactly as the teacher showed us. There were 14 people in my class and only 2 people passed. I was really determined to not do this over again.
Hi Nurse Jar ! Question. You took the wet sink liner out and didn’t change the glove to put away the denture cup and the rest of things. Is that allowed ?
I had mouthcare without teeth yesterday.. if I hadn't watch this I would have failed...I had barrier and all.. what I did forget was the towel on the patient... but did a correction and got that point... that was one of 3.. i'll get my results next week but I passed the written with 1 wrong answer
Good day Mrs. Julie and Thank you so much for this video upload. I want to ask why do you give the call light to the client at the beginning of the procedure, I thought we were told to not touch the client with dirty hands, or not until we wash our hands. pls explain. Thanks
Hi, Eky! I train my students to do opening procedures at the beginning of each skill. During testing, you will be nervous and may forget to ensure the call light is within reach after you have completed the skill.
@@NURSEJAR ok. Thank you for your reply. Ill put that into practice. My exam is next week. Your videos have really helped me a lot, I learnt under Pearson Vue.
You've got denture care using the toothbrush on the denture and the toothette on the gum. Then you have the brushing of the teeth within a person's mouth
Hi nurse JAR , your lessons are very helpful to me. I just registered yesterday because I want to do CNA exam. My question is how many days and time do you do the lessons ? I believe it will help me to pass my exam 🙏 Thanks.
I want to sincerely thank you for your outstanding and informative videos. However, my question is for the denture/teeth mouth care videos. Are CNA’s allowed to clean the tongue? I was instructed not to clean due to the resident might get chocked. Please confirm this information. Thank you again Nurse Jar for all you do in healthcare. Stay blessed 💕
Hi, CW! Thank you! Keep in mind these are certification test-taking training videos. Authorized Administrators require the testing candidate to perform certain actions. Now, with this said, in reality (real life), you would still want to clean the person's tongue to remove any film. The act of brushing a person's teeth alone puts them at risk for aspiration. This is why, as healthcare professionals, we perform certain actions to lower the person's risk of aspiration, such as positioning the bed into a High Fowler's position, turning the resident's head to one side, or whenever possible, positioning the person in a lateral (side-lying) position. In real life, you will need to consider the person's health condition, mobility, mental awareness, abilities, and his or her Care Plan, whenever performing any nursing task. Hope I answered your question!
Hi, Dicksonnoble! Home Health Aides are usually jurisdicted under their state's Health and Human Services. These nurse aides are supervised remotely by the nurse. Their Scope of Practice may jurisdicted differently from one state to the next.
I take my test tomorrow I was wondering dont you have to wash your hand directly AFTER YOUR OPENING PROCEDURES , immediately after each skills and at the end AFTER YOUR CLOSING PROCEDURES AS WELL ?
Hi, Nyra! You will need to wash your hands with running water and soap only once during Hand Hygiene, which will be the first skill you perform. Any other times you are required to wash your hands, you need only to verbalize doing so. Good luck with your exam! Let me know how you do.
Hi, Charline! For Prometric, you may have anywhere from 30-40 minutes depending on your skills set. For Pearson Vue, you will have 30 minutes to complete your skills exam.
Hi, Tyler! Yes! Try to stay calm! Vocalize everything you do. Doing so will help you keep focused on what you are doing. Stay confident and positive! Good luck! Let me know how you do.
Hi, Maxine! Dentures are very fragile and easily breakable. The paper towel is used to l8ne the sink, along with refilling the sink with water, to avoid breakage of the denture(s) in case it slips from your hand.
Hi nurse Jar, blood pressure and weight still include on the prometric test? How about elastic stocking, feed care and mouth care? Someone told me they eliminated those skills. It’s true. I am my exam soon
Hi, Charlene! BP, WT and Knee-High Stocking are not Prometric skills. As far as Feeding, Mouth Care ( natural teeth) and Mouth Care (denture), Prometric testing sites have either temporarily discontinued or modified these skills. You should still practice them just in case, as some COVID restrictions are being lifted by the CDC.
Thx for responding, I really appreciate it. I am practicing your skills videos every single day and I am sure I will pass my exam. Thx for everything, you’re awesome 🤩
Because if you're doing denture care then most likely the patient has gums & no teeth, so the toothette is a softer spongey utensil for their gums. The gums may be too sensitive for a regular tooth brush

You've got denture care using the toothbrush on the denture and the toothette on the gum.
