      same here, i am so confused from the program i purchased to get me ready to take and pass the cna exam, for instance it says that we need to take the pulse twice and also when rinsing bedpans or anything to rinse 3 times however i am not sure if that is still the requirement, i wonder if i should just do what nurse jar is doing and only do it once

      @@elhoucineaghouache8427 I did every single thing by the book. place i was going i had heard of a specific proctor who was so incredibly incompetent. I knew i had her when I got there, because the group that tested before me told me they were all failed, and feel like she could even have early on set…..by the way she was acting. She walked away middle of me testing to retake the patients BP after just finishing that. Just know, you can do everything correct and still be screwed over. Don’t be shy to ask questions, and be assertive in a way, respectfully. After testing and getting my results, I genuinely asked her why she kept walking away and knocking me for things I DID, she just was not lying attention. Still failed me. Retested and passed.

    Was wondering if it was necessary to include units of measurements when taking blood pressure, pulse, weight etc. ? Or simply providing the number is sufficient

    • @NURSEJAR
      @NURSEJAR  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, Clarissa! You do not need to record the unit of measurement for BP, P, or R. However, for urine output, you will need to document the unit of measurement in ml or cm, and for weight, you will need to document unit of measurement in pounds (lb). If measuring weight in kilograms, you will need to document "kg."

      Hi, Lokendog! Yes, if you test under Prometric.
      If you test under Pearson Vue or Credentia, you are not required to clean your cuticles.

    • @NURSEJAR
      @NURSEJAR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Essie! It depends on which Authorized Administrator you are testing under. Pearson Vue, Credentia, and Prometric requires candidates to verbalize "washing hands" whenever required to do so after initially washing hands with actual water and soap ( Hand Hygiene skill). Headmaster, on the other hand, requires candidates to use hand sanitizer whenever required to wash hands after performing Hand Hygiene.

      This might be a stupid question, but before we actually wash hands would we do open procedures with resident before doing so? Or just automatically wash hands and then start the skills?

      hand washing video but I did see you mentioned it in the open procedure video. So just wanted to be sure on that. Thank you again Nurse Jar!

    OK. So you did catheter care and handled potentially infectious material, and then went straight to the faucet without doffing the dirty gloves first before touching the faucet handles? What am I missing? @18:04 "I'm going to dispose of my gloves without contaminating myself." Meanwhile you've contaminated multiple surfaces in the room. Is this what State licensing boards are teaching CNA's to pass the skills exams these days? We need to do better.

    • @NURSEJAR

      @user-qr8ki8ue4i I started my nursing career as an ICU nurse. Trust me, I understand your concerns.
      I fought this battle in 2013, and I asked the same question amongst many others. The states and Authorized Administrators do not communicate with one another when it comes to determining the steps of the manual skills.
      After the 11th NCSBN, I knew I was fighting a losing battle!
      Most of the testable skills are and have to be abbreviated for testing, as candidates are given a certain amount of time to complete 4-5 skills.
      But, rest assured, we instructors train our students on how these tasks should properly be performed in real life during Lecture/Lab and Clinical. But, we also have to train them on how it is required to be performed for testing.
