Hey, just started watching the video. Thank you. I am a new artist, and been lately using 3D models that I draw over cuz I struggle furiously with anatomy. I am in parallel slowly studying anatomy (this is just a hobby for me, I work as acountant, so my time is limited for it). Knowing professional artists don't frown upon the usage of 3D tools (for either reference or drawing on top) is a nice thing as I am an extremely insecure person who is always finding an excuse to tell itself it's not worthy of the art I do.
Of course you’re worthy! Anyone else who tells you you aren’t can go take a hike. We actually go more in-depth about the use of 3D reference in these two videos ☺️: th-cam.com/video/LcQN1OqeQI4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/rAVHwMd1hGs/w-d-xo.html
Thanks, Gentry! 😄 Omercan and I have been playing around with the idea of creating a «Making Of» series where we show our full illustration-processes. So in my case; showing how I do the set dressing for a scene, character posing, lighting in Blender and then the final paintover. But before then, I need to touch on a few areas in Blender such as how to add clothing, how to create cinematic renders, etc. But we will in due time! 😄💪
This really helped me a lot! I was wondering how to make use of the creative freedom 3d gives while exploring a scene and this video has everything I needed. Thanks and great stuff!
also have you tried Genesis 8.1? today that I find this video of you, I just tried them out... the expression tools is absolutely fantastic. It's so responsive how you move a face muscle and all the others react and adjust.
Great video! I am playing with the shape parameters but I couldn't find any parameters for the arms. Is it possible to give the (female) character hulk-like arms?
Thanks for sharing this video, I'm a beginner and this helps a lot. I have a question, does this only work with the genesis models or would it also work on an imported model?

You’re most welcome! :3
really amazing tutorial..can i know how you make objects red in blender plz?
Thanks, Hatem! Do you mean the red-ish clay shader? It’s one of the clay-shader modes if you press the little button next to the shader modes ☺️
@@POLYCOSM thanks a lot ..that's really helpful.
Such a brilliantly preented tutorial! :) Found a few more economies I didn't know about! I do struggle with techniques to get characters to interact/ touch without going through each other though.
Thanks, Andrew! 😄 Huh, do you mean for animation?
@@POLYCOSM Shweeeet! You're ace. No animation just yet, just stills in Daz, Blender and PShop. Imagine trying to quickly conform a hand to grab another character: Do you use collision objects then pose the hand? 🤘🏽
Ahhh, I see! I don’t use any collisions, just manual posing ☺️
@@POLYCOSMManual labour! I've managed a little deformation with collisions; someone grabbing another persons arm and the skin deforming, but it's a little unwieldy. Works though, but I fear pshop pos-production is quicker to get the effect:) Many thanks again P!
No prob! Glad you figured out a solution for now ☺️
this video is awesome
Thanks dude! 😄
@@POLYCOSM Do you make everything on 3D? or do you paint on photoshop aswell?
I’m primarily a 2D artist, so I only use 3D as a base for my paintovers. Here’s a link to my 2D work: www.artstation.com/christinapm ☺️
@@POLYCOSM I will follow you.
I love this program im working on a few projects myself
Thanks For this Video.
We actually go more in-depth about the use of 3D reference in these two videos ☺️:

Great video!!! Can we see the illustration part? So cool to see the process.
Thank you for this video! It's exactly what I needed
Glad you found it useful, Paulo! ☺️
Very useful, Thanks for the video, i always struggle when come to anatomy, this could help a lot~
Same, Jun! Using DAZ has taught me a lot about anatomy 😄 Glad you found it useful!
Thanks a lot this is very helpful
My pleasure! Glad you found it useful 😁
This really helped me a lot! I was wondering how to make use of the creative freedom 3d gives while exploring a scene and this video has everything I needed. Thanks and great stuff!
Aww, thanks so much dude! I have a couple of videos following this series if you're interested in learning more 😄
also have you tried Genesis 8.1? today that I find this video of you, I just tried them out... the expression tools is absolutely fantastic. It's so responsive how you move a face muscle and all the others react and adjust.
Wooooah, I didn’t even know this was out! 😱 I haven’t tried it no, but I am definitely going to now! Thanks for introducing me to the new figures 😄
Perfect!!
Fantastic intro video. Please help, Daz 4.2, how do I import the reference pictures? Thank you in advance.
Hey, where do you get cool pose references from? The poses you showed, I have never seen them and they are so cool!
Just google and general Life Drawing websites 😄
@@POLYCOSM thanks
THANK YOU
You’re most welcome! 😄
Great presentation! I really enjoyed! Very good job. Do you work for a design company?
excuse me if maybe u can tell me what product gives u that "EMACIATED" morph slider 10:23 ?
its is nice! thank you )
El mejor video.
It was very usefull, thanks a lot...
Glad to hear that! 😄
Great video!
I am playing with the shape parameters but I couldn't find any parameters for the arms. Is it possible to give the (female) character hulk-like arms?
When I load in the Genesis 8 character, it comes with all the material. How can I remove the material so I just get the gray character like yours?
At 00:15 how did you do that see-through body effect?
i love you thank you so much
thank you so much :)
You're most welcome :D
Thanks for sharing this video, I'm a beginner and this helps a lot.
I have a question, does this only work with the genesis models or would it also work on an imported model?
