Whilst in Lima in 2015 i adopted a little kitten Sofía and brought her to the UK alongside with my other cat whom I took 3 times to Lima and back to England. The Sucar Cane at minute 06:00 is for juice. There are 2 types of Sugar cane 1º for industrial application and 2º for extract the juice. There are a lot of the 2º in Lima. The extracted juice from the cane is rich in minerals JUGO DE CAÑA

It is flanked by large snow-capped mountains and is close to lagoons. Chinchero is home to the famous peruvian weaving and also has a colorful market, especially on sundays. At the Andean Textiles Interpretaton Center local women entertain tourists with sewing demostrations and in English if necessary. In Chinchero its main square stands out, a fusion between Inca and colonial architecture. This picturesque village was choosen by Dennis Hopper for the recording of the film "The Last Movie" in 1970. After the great success of "Easy Rider" with Peter Fonda, Universal Studios entrusted Dennis Hopper with such filming. It was awarded at the Venice Festival but its release in the United States was a failure and was banned for over 40 years. This movie was remastered and a restored 4K version has been made that has been shown again in the U.S. last year, becoming a sort of cult movie.

The thing with going out like you did is that you also have to set an example. There is a social contract of everybody staying home, people will see you video and want to go to those places too and they are not being taken care of as usual, not all people will be as calm and respectful with our ruins as you were. You intentions were good and you kept yourself save from corona but the whole thing is more complicated than that. Love you guys, hope you give it a thought
The problem with a "social contract" is that it's not a contract at all! There are no two way agreements, it was simply the governments "ordering" everyone under house arrest. In Peru, they had opened these areas up for people to exercise and explore again so the invisible "contract" was either already honored or null and void; hard to say which since again, there is no true "contract". It is the brave who are willing to go out and live life the way nature intended that are always the ones chastised out of jealousy by those more afraid to make a move because they prefer to live in fear!

Your outlook on things is refreshing and unselfconscious and has brought back so many memories of my several hundred days in Cusco. From chiriuchu to cuy! Thank you for brightening my lockdown in Los Angeles. It was fun looking over your shoulders. Once you decide to leave the highlands, I could highly recommend the beach town of Huanchaco near the northern city of Trujillo, but you have many more options while you’re in the South. Enjoy the rest of your time.
Good to see you back with another video, Cusco it seems is going back to business slowly as the same here in New York and New Jersey, as you may have known here we been in the center of the pandemia with the coronavirus (in particular New York ), with records of contagious and death everyday, but thanks God, this past 3 weeks the situation here is getting much and much better, unfortunately the situation is no the same in the south of USA, like in California, Texas, Nevada, Florida, Oklahoma and so on, things are getting worse with the virus, USA already has more than two million of contagious and more than 124 thousands of death, anyway, keep safe and enjoy as much as you can over there in Cusco, Peru, cheers ☺

Hi guys. I found your videos some weeks ago. I'm Peruvian living in the UK. I was a travel agent when I lived in Peru and even I was in Cusco many times I couldn't do many things I really wanted like going to Wayna Picchu (mountain opposite to Machu Picchu) I envy you (good envy) because you were walking around and the landscapes were amazing. I'm from the North Coast of Perú and it is true that Lima is known as the gastronomy capital but you can eat better in other cities like my city Trujillo. 😁😜
Alex and Lindsey: Don't let the naysayers change your mode... you guys are the best. Your attitudes are great- 100 percent! 🥇 Thank you for your videos... I know that you guys are super law abiders - following rules all the time etc. In my estimation you guys are an "add on" to Cusco...you've shared the joy and enjoyment of being there. Cool!!
I am from Lima and I am very proud of our cuisine, although all the food in Peru is very good. The quality in Lima is simply unique. Proof of this is that Lima has 2 restaurants that are among the 10 best restaurants in the world (Central and Maid). It has a lot to do with our history and with the love that we let into everything.
I think you made the right choice to stay in Cusco. So expensive to get back for you! and not able to do much when you get home anyway, probably?! Hang in there, hopefully you will be able to see the rest of Peru and beyond soon!
One of my favorite moments of the 100 days was when Alex sat down to tell about his trip in Spain and when he started talking about his camera that was stolen and then Lindsay turns around and says “oh you were going to record it. “ And then Alex turns and says oh I forgot it was a disposable camera it was only $10 and just the expression and reaction From both of you was so hilarious. I was just on the floor laughing my ass off it was so funny Jajajajaja. 😂. Thanks for all the wonderful videos that you guys post. Keep safe 👍🏼
Hi guys! I am from Cusco, I miss my city, I was supposed to be there, and I got stuck in Texas. No video, though. There is a couple of things: June 24 is also Inti Raymi in Cusco or the Sun Festival, the city's day. Obviously, this year was completely different. It is usually a day full of dance and celebrations. I also know the city has been particularly hit by the lockdown given the economy runs on tourism. I can see that because of some increase in informal commerce in the streets. It is also true the virus is constrained by the altitude, and the outbreak in Cusco has been weaker than Lima by a lot. Now that the city is opening up again, I know it will welcome all the visitors as it has been doing it for so many years. Visitors are so vital for the city. Stay longer, go to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley!

I think you are better off there in Cuzco, here in the States the situation is deteriorating, just be careful and take care, you are young and healthy, experts in infectious diseases just said that is going to get worse here because there is no federal plan to protect and fight this disease, is really scary. And the same seems to be taking place in Peru as cases begin to spike again and the government's desire to open up the economy despite misgivings by health authorities. Peru has the 7th most number of cases now with almost 4,000 new cases today. Opening up malls, hmmm.
A virus is a virus is a virus and a virus has to run its course, there is not a single (federal) government body in the world that can stop it. All that can be done is work to not overwhelm the medical system and the US has done that without issue! A virus is not a political tool, it is a microscopic enemy of all!

The thing with going out like you did is that you also have to set an example. There is a social contract of everybody staying home, people will see you video and want to go to those places too and they are not being taken care of as usual, not all people will be as calm and respectful with our ruins as you were. You intentions were good and you kept yourself save from corona but the whole thing is more complicated than that. Love you guys, hope you give it a thought
Yes when you explain it that way it makes sense. You’re right.
The problem with a "social contract" is that it's not a contract at all! There are no two way agreements, it was simply the governments "ordering" everyone under house arrest. In Peru, they had opened these areas up for people to exercise and explore again so the invisible "contract" was either already honored or null and void; hard to say which since again, there is no true "contract".
It is the brave who are willing to go out and live life the way nature intended that are always the ones chastised out of jealousy by those more afraid to make a move because they prefer to live in fear!

Q&A - I’m a bit of a latecomer to your vlog, but have truly enjoyed your take on my favorite place on this earth. Your outlook on things is refreshing and unselfconscious and has brought back so many memories of my several hundred days in Cusco. From chiriuchu to cuy! Thank you for brightening my lockdown in Los Angeles. It was fun looking over your shoulders. Once you decide to leave the highlands, I could highly recommend the beach town of Huanchaco near the northern city of Trujillo, but you have many more options while you’re in the South. Enjoy the rest of your time.
Good to see you back with another video, Cusco it seems is going back to business slowly as the same here in New York and New Jersey, as you may have known here we been in the center of the pandemia with the coronavirus (in particular New York ), with records of contagious and death everyday, but thanks God, this past 3 weeks the situation here is getting much and much better, unfortunately the situation is no the same in the south of USA, like in California, Texas, Nevada, Florida, Oklahoma and so on, things are getting worse with the virus, USA already has more than two million of contagious and more than 124 thousands of death, anyway, keep safe and enjoy as much as you can over there in Cusco, Peru, cheers ☺

Hi guys. I found your videos some weeks ago. I'm Peruvian living in the UK. I was a travel agent when I lived in Peru and even I was in Cusco many times I couldn't do many things I really wanted like going to Wayna Picchu (mountain opposite to Machu Picchu) I envy you (good envy) because you were walking around and the landscapes were amazing. I'm from the North Coast of Perú and it is true that Lima is known as the gastronomy capital but you can eat better in other cities like my city Trujillo. 😁😜

I am from Lima and I am very proud of our cuisine, although all the food in Peru is very good. The quality in Lima is simply unique. Proof of this is that Lima has 2 restaurants that are among the 10 best restaurants in the world (Central and Maid). It has a lot to do with our history and with the love that we let into everything.
I think you made the right choice to stay in Cusco. So expensive to get back for you! and not able to do much when you get home anyway, probably?! Hang in there, hopefully you will be able to see the rest of Peru and beyond soon!

One of my favorite moments of the 100 days was when Alex sat down to tell about his trip in Spain and when he started talking about his camera that was stolen and then Lindsay turns around and says “oh you were going to record it. “ And then Alex turns and says oh I forgot it was a disposable camera it was only $10 and just the expression and reaction From both of you was so hilarious. Hi guys! I am from Cusco, I miss my city, I was supposed to be there, and I got stuck in Texas. No video, though. There is a couple of things: June 24 is also Inti Raymi in Cusco or the Sun Festival, the city's day. Obviously, this year was completely different. It is usually a day full of dance and celebrations. I also know the city has been particularly hit by the lockdown given the economy runs on tourism. I can see that because of some increase in informal commerce in the streets. It is also true the virus is constrained by the altitude, and the outbreak in Cusco has been weaker than Lima by a lot. Now that the city is opening up again, I know it will welcome all the visitors as it has been doing it for so many years. Visitors are so vital for the city. Stay longer, go to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley!

Did you consider visiting Arequipa? Food is delicious and a lot to see. Colonial architecture, temples, volcanoes, the Colca Canyon, etc.

I think you are better off there in Cuzco, here in the States the situation is deteriorating, just be careful and take care, you are young and healthy, experts in infectious diseases just said that is going to get worse here because there is no federal plan to protect and fight this disease, is really scary. And the same seems to be taking place in Peru as cases begin to spike again and the government's desire to open up the economy despite misgivings by health authorities. Peru has the 7th most number of cases now with almost 4,000 new cases today. Opening up malls, hmmm.
A virus is a virus is a virus and a virus has to run its course, there is not a single (federal) government body in the world that can stop it. All that can be done is work to not overwhelm the medical system and the US has done that without issue! A virus is not a political tool, it is a microscopic enemy of all!
