    Hi, this is MARTiAL YOU, I'm Shawn and I've gotta quick tip to help you with your punching.
    Over the years I have seen many individuals punch in various ways, some good, some not so good. This is a quick tip that addresses one problem that comes up, alignment of the wrist. In this video I demonstrate one method to help you align your fist while striking with punches in order to avoid issues with hyper extension upward or downward.

    You know I actually searched this up cuz I thought my punching technique was garbage but turns out a person would move a little more then a Weight bearing concrete brick wall

      the fact that you couldn’t deduce a concrete wall would be the thing hurting your wrist means you prolly have an extra chromosome

    What about aligning side by side? MY wrists hurt from muay thai, and I can't seem to align my wrists enough. Thanks so much!

      If you are referring to the wrists side to side alignment, which I think you are, that is extremely important as well and you ask a great question. In this video I demonstrated alignment for straight punches, strikes that are mainly delivering force directly forward. If you are experiencing ache or pain in the wrist after training, mainly within the bone structure not muscle or tendon, it could be the angle of impact causing your wrist to bend side to side. Do you have aches or pain on the left or right side of the wrist? Perhaps directly lined up with the thumb or pinkie?

      @@jbertucci Here’s something I learned and I haven’t forgotten not necessarily advice but it stuck with me. Im 270lbs 6’1 19yo martial artist i have a lot of power and stamina as well. I noticed pain whenever i did power shots granted I didn’t have gloves but not matter how i aligned it still hurt then i heard this. “If you can hit the heavy bag without protection full force for hours,you probably don’t hit very hard”. My ability to produce force is much higher than my own wrist and arms can handle and it’s probably the same for you.
      I would incorporate more wrist/grip training especially fingertip pushups and focusing on the forearm extensor/flexor muscles. Hope that helps I gotta do more training myself so that my arms can handle the force i generate.

    When I use my reflex bag, it messes up my punch. I immediately used my heavy bag after and fucked up my wrist, any tips?

      Do a lighter warmup on the heavy bag first, or if you’re looking for intensity, look up the Floyd mayweather stamina heavy bag drill
