Long form, hour long videos are the best for those that want to learn. That short stuff youtube algorithms keep pushing is destroying attention spans and how we consume information. When you teach I sit down and listen no matter how long it is for a simple reason, you provide VALUE and aren’t trying to sell a personality to brands and corporations. I still go back and watch the early videos just to make sure its engrained in my head forever
Dude, Socrates said literacy was destroying attention spans:
"For this invention will produce forgetfulness in the minds of those who learn to use it, because they will not practice their memory. Their trust in writing, produced by external characters which are no part of themselves, will discourage the use of their own memory within them. You have invented an elixir not of memory, but of reminding; and you offer your pupils the appearance of wisdom, not true wisdom, for they will read many things without instruction and will therefore seem [275b] to know many things, when they are for the most part ignorant and hard to get along with, since they are not wise, but only appear wise."
short form or long form, in the forum or on a phone's screen, "Jack and Jill" or "War and Peace", "Thug Notes" or "Masterpiece Theater", learning is still learning, and it is ALL beneficial to those who choose to learn. It is not that the short form is destroying attention spans, it is more suited to those who cannot focus on the long form- whether it is from ADHD making concentration difficult for the child, a busy family life that draws the young adult away, or the daily aches and pains of waking up distracting the thoughts of those getting their first grey hair...
what matters is not the form that the education takes, but that it can reach the right ears, for what good is a long form video, no matter the quality, to a person with a neurological condition that will not permit him watch it? what good is a short form video, no matter the quality, to a person with an ego that will not permit him to watch it? neither do anyone any good, for they fall on the wrong ears... that which is limited by nature, and that which is limited by choice. ...and the same can be said for the reverse, as well.
@@IAmValenwind great point
@@IAmValenwind actually socrates said go pay for some f@+#+ clases !!
@@IAmValenwind They both have their place but platforms built around addicting consumers to short-form videos are destroying attention spans. This is just a fact. Look up the neuroscience on this. Context-switching constantly over and over and over and over and over is training the brain to become addicted to the dopamine spike and to seek it out endlessly. This is no where near the effect that books have. Books draw you in deeply and engage deeper activity in the brain compared to internet browsing or social media like tiktok/instagram/twitter etc.
@@IAmValenwind i would argue that the shorter videos are made more so for entertainment and have very little if anything at all you can learn from it. Conversely, the videos you learn something from tend to be longer and more in depth. Lastly shorter videos (mainly shorts) do lower your attention span, its been proven.
Lead hook has always been my hardest punch to learn. This video is a great refresher
Perfect timing
100% Agree!!!
Kinda scary how good the timing is. Love it.
Many people think that the boxing is all about fist; infact it's all about the body. Great instructions coach. ✌️I got lot of things to learn... always the beginner and always humble. Thanks Mr coach.
I could just cry with relief. I had so much pain in my shoulder and simultaneously no snap in my hook at all. I listened carefully to your explanation, especially the part about that stretch in the shoulder and after one day of working with it my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore and I can see a path to improvement. Thank you so much for this video! Love the boxing home workouts too.
Do shoulder shrugs like mike tyson
What I love about you Coach is that, you not just teach us the techniques but also educate us on the dynamics of boxing and the psychology in detail. Keep making long videos 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much Avi!
Mate Ive said it before and Imma say it again , I dont think there’s a boxing channel that teaches people as good as urs. U made me start boxing (kickboxing) and even tho I went to the gym and all that it wasnt it for me but Ive developed smth special with boxing and its cause of u. Thanks again bro
Thank you Rebel!
@@PrecisionBoxing 🥊❤️
@@PrecisionBoxing hi. Which level give access to virtuel padwork ?
Game changer. I have watched a few videos and I left thinking it was the whole body but this explains it; it's really the torso.
100 percent agreed on the longer video for learning - I subscribed for that. Love this way more than instant gratification videos. Keep it up!
I just started learning the hook yesterday and now this morning there's a detailed video on it by the guy I follow. I'm starting to think these happenings aren't just coincidence.
Phenomenal. Thank you so much for taking the time to break all this down!
Awesome channel.
I just got into boxing recently an this is a really good tutorial! Always appreciate a good coach🥊
This is amazing information, thank you for your work
Thank for sharing my friend
Good job
Learned alot will try this thank you.❤
Thanks man. I'm gonna be working on this in the gym today 💪
This is a fantastic little drill. I like your teaching style. You got a new subscriber 👍
Good teaching, your concepts are very easy to understand. I appreciate you 💯
I'm struggling with this punch so I very much appreciate you breaking it down. Great video.
The Best boxing-tips based video that I’ve seen so far this year on TH-cam!!💯💯❤️💪🏾💪🏾🥊🥊🥊🧠
Watched every minute, appreciate there depth on this one
Thank you for this content! Sometimes people try and give me pointers on my hook but it's hard to really get into mechanics during the little gaps between padwork and drilling. I know shorter stuff is probably more attractive in terms of viewership, but the long format is really what I am looking for personally. Thanks again!
Awesome! thank you
Best teacher of all time. Dudes awesome!
Hey thanks for sharing your knowledge! Will be watching this one again before I hit the gym.
One of your very best videos. An excellent presentation. Thanks so much.
Long detailed interesting and very clear especially for beginners!
Keep on this good work💪
Thank you, Jason! As always, great insight, straight to the point, no-nonsense / no-B/S coaching that is great for beginners and intermediate boxers alike (I can't speak for the advanced ones because I ain't one :). Peace and cheers from Bangkok, Thailand!
12:54 you are a really good teacher. This makes perfect sense.
Thank you very much for the video, Coach!
Thank you very much for that great video ! 🙏🙏
IMHO, you are the best for understanding and finding the best way to teach those things to people, so that they DO understand where the efficiency of the movement is.
Very great video and tips ‼️🥊
Keep going & best regards 👊
Prime content per usual 💪🥊
I've been coaching a buddy of mine who's a beginner. He has a decent right hook, but absolutely struggles with the left hook. This makes so much more sense to me now. Thanks a lot! I'm so gonna steal this. 😄
Most informative video i have seen on you tube about hooks 👊
Thank you very much. Right in time.
I learnt the most from this video keep the series' goin 👍
Great video, i been boxing for some years and i still learned something i didn't know. I like these kind of videos. I don't care how long a video is , the point is to learn something and i liked how you explain it on detail piece by piece. I hope to see more from you like this. Thank you and God bless you and yours
This is so constructive and clear, love it keep up the great work
Nice video, well explained, thank you 👍
thank you for sharing your knowledge and secrets! I am a beginner and I love your videos
Excellent breakdown 🔥
Really appreciate how you teach. Thank you!
Thank you David!
Thanks coach
Thank! You! I'm just a guy who uses TH-cam as my coach to hit a heavy bag and I had no idea there was that kind of shoulder rotation. Just practiced it again today and it makes a world of difference. EVERYTHING feels more solid. Much appreciated!
Great job . I like the contest.Could you make similar one for technique - duck .especially how to connect it with hooks in the most effective way.Thank you
The upper body whip, with the pre-loaded arm, was super insightful for me. Excited to try it out later today
Love this. First lesson for many many sports: don't generate power from arms. Olympic weightlifting, volleyball spiking, tennis, ping pong, etc...
Best explanation on how to throw that hook that Ive found, thanks broski!
Amazing explanation ❤❤
Sos un genio.muchas gracias!
This is great!
This along with your past videos on hooks are the best breakdowns of the punch from youtube hands down
Thank you Josh!
Great tips
The Quickest route to something isn’t always the best Coach!! 💯💯🧠🧠💯
Thanks coach! So much detail. Thank you for all your work. 🙏 What shoes are you wearing?
YOU ARE THEEE BEST AT BREAKING IT DOWN
That's a good breakdown JD, especially since you include long/med/short range use of it.
We use a weighted ball sometimes to throw it in to the wall while standing bladed to it, so you can really feel that waist rotation. You start to feel how crucial your core work is to synching your upper and lower body together. I like to think of the waist up like a tank turret and the body of the tank more your hips down to your feet. A strong core - strong stomach, rib,and back muscles - really *do* make a big difference in how fast and hard your punches get to the target.
Thank you! I have learned many detail from this video. I m gona try >.
coach, congratulations for the excellent training videos you show us, show us which of all these combinations of defense and attack is suitable for a street fight.
Not going lie, you are top 2 coaches on TH-cam, might be one cause you broke this down clear as hell for me
Love your videos! Love your content. You work very hard, you take decent time to explain and you produce an S-ton of fantastic videos!
Thank you Peter! I appreciate your support.
Ive been a member for a month. What an awesome system you have. Thank you for being my coach
Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate your support and I hope you continue to get a lot out of the membership.
Perfect power and timing
you are the best boxing youtuber.
Great tutorial. The hook is one of my favourite punches personally. Will defo be implementing your tips to refining my technique. Appreciate this tutorial. Have a good one Coach :)
Thank you!!
I wish this video came out when I started boxing 3 years ago. I started noticing everything you mention now so my hooks look less atrocious. Going to practice more of the pivot and make sure my body moves first before the arm.
Epic deep dive 💪
Awesome explanation. I've been doing this wrong for years
first!❤Needed this today, thanks for the breakdown man
Crazy. I was just playing boxing video games with my kid this morning. Tommy Morrison. Hell of a left hook. Was running some drills with this just a few mins ago. The matrix man.
My elbow comes up when I throw the right cross. Ive been drilling trying to keep it tucked and drive the power behind it. Its amazing how much little things can make a difference. Relaxing is also hard sometimes. I Enjoy your content sir. Thanks for the hook tips. I want to go back to the gym now.
Thanks for learning!
JASON 🥊🥊🥊THANKS BROTHER FOR YOUR TIME AND INPUTS, GREAT LESSON
I'm glad you got a lot from this video!
Thanks JT!
Thank you Monir!
@@PrecisionBoxing No problem Jason. Always happy to learn from you. Take care.
More long videos like this, please!
Today, I thought about that and was practice. But I think that hook just like fishhook!! And hard guard. Thank you!!
Awesome breakdown JT! Can you make a refresher video of "shoulder pop" in punching technique? Which punches get the most benefit to shoulder pop and drills to improve it or develop it if we don't have it at all yet?
Perfect sir
Thanks for this video, really helped me to understand more about lead hook
Thank you Frander!
Best coach 🥳
Beast Coach in youtube Thanks mate❤😊
Thank you King 🥊
Thank you so much for this very clear instruction video! I started going to a high intensity interval training workout that combines heavy bag with floor exercises, which is great fun and rather tough, but it doesn't allow for much time to get the technique right, so I've kind of been swinging all over the place. Thanks to you I hope I can soon go back to those water bags and show them who's the boss!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice combo🥊🦅🐅🐺
I finally get it, thank you so much!
Thanks for the video. I tend to struggle with the right hook rather than the lead hook, but i am sure i can apply these same concepts.
Yes, exactly. The right hook is also about body rotation, a rear foot pivot helps.
Thanks!
Thank you Justin! I appreciate your support.
I had trouble with my lead hook, and my coach finally had me do a 1, 2, 3 combo with just my body (arms hugging my chest), and I did the body rotation perfectly.
Once I knew how it was supposed to feel it only took a little while to get it perfect with my hands.
Greatest Coach
Love this. Also love the lead hook video from your website. I’ve owned it for years.
That mean A LOT Timm! Thank you for your support. I really hope the videos have helped you
In Sytema we strengthen that shoulder muscle with lots of good form press ups and press up holds. Feel that streach for hypertrophic build. Nice vid
Great tutorial, started MMA one month back and somehow was not able to grasp the technique of hook. Even while hitting and practising this, knew something was off. You broke it down perfectly, thanks for this coach!
Amazing
Thanks for sharing
Best lead hook tutorial on youtube
Thank you so much
Thank you Ozzie!
the explanation is top notch as usual coach. On your second point about whip i just wanted to say for anyone struggling notice how JT's shoulders change position. That's important. I continue to forget about it and wonder where my power went. i need to get one of your shirts soon bro💯
Thank you Rory, I appreciate your feedback!
As usual, a great technique breakdown Coach 👌 👏 I have a question tho that isn't related to this video...
There is a technique where, for instance, you would throw the right hand and immediately step back and slip outside and come back with the cross. I believe this is a counter shot but I wonder if this technique has a name so I can find more vids specifically on it.
Lastly, I love your conditioning Drills as they are paying dividends for me over time.
Everything that I have been doing wrong. Thank you sincerely ❤️
