@@VerowakReacts I really hope that you see this comment because it's very important that you do! Since you're watching the Shrek series for your very first time, there's one thing that you need to know about & see before you watch Shrek 2.
The Universal Studios theme parks came out with a Shrek attraction called Shrek 4-D & this attraction picks up right after the events of the first Shrek movie & the attraction ends just right before the events of Shrek 2. Like at Universal Studios Florida, for example, the attraction was there from the summer of 2003 until the beginning of January of 2022.
Before the actual experience, there was a pre-show. Now before entering the pre-show, if you were looking carefully out n the queue line, they had a small little story that helped understand the attraction better.
You find out that Lord Farquaad is back from the dead, but this time as a ghost or he's mostly known as the Ghost of Lord Farquaad. But he's had all of the fairy tale creatures captured & he's interrogating them to find out where Shrek has taken Princess Fiona. Lord Farquaad wants to kidnap Princess Fiona & then kill her so he can make her his ghostly queen of the underworld.
Unfortunately according to the sign in the queue line, the guests have entered the interrogation line (queue line) with all of the other fairy tale creatures for the questioning of Princess Fiona's whereabouts.
Once you enter the pre-show room, you find out that you've entered Lord Farquaad's torture chamber in his castle. You see that he's captured the Three Little Pigs & Pinocchio in cages that are hanging up in the air, as well as there's a Dungeon Cam screen where you can see the Gingerbread Man laying on a table, similar to what you see him laying on the in the first Shrek movie.
Depending on which pre-show room you're in, you'll see the Magic Mirror hanging to the left or the right side of the room. Lord Farquaad has a minion standing at this podium telling us about the rules of the attraction & the different torture devices that are around inside the room.
The Gingerbread Man manages to escape & tells the guests that "He's back!". Pinocchio awakens the Magic Mirror, who tells us a re-cap as to what happened in the first Shrek movie. After the re-cap, the Ghost of Lord Farquaad enters into the dugeon cam screen & tries to make Pinocchio & the Three Little Pigs tell him where Princess Fiona is, but they don't tell him at all.
That's when the Ghost of Lord Farquaad notices us & asks where Shrek & Fiona are. And since we don't say anything to him as to where Princess Fiona is, the Ghost of Lord Farquaad says that he'll make us talk by sending us to his torture chamber. The seats that you sit in actually move, where the seats can move up & down and tilt forwards & backwards.
As well as besides the seats moving, you also feel air & water effects too, like for example, at one point when Donkey sneezes, you feel water effects spray in your face. There's one scene that even had a really nice sweet scent to smell too.
I don't want to give too much away about the actual movie part of it for the attraction, but Universal was able to get all of the original voices of Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Johnathan Lithgow as the Ghost of Lord Farquaad, as well as the original voices of Pinocchio, the Three Little Pigs, the Gingerbread Man & the Magic Mirror.
But I really & truly do hope that you'll watch the Shrek 4-D attraction here on TH-cam before you get the chance to watch Shrek 2! 😀

When I hear of Mike Myers, I think of the movie, "So I Married an Axe Murderer". That one could be a good one to watch. I enjoyed the addition of the "Hello there". I was already thinking of that movie when I saw all the lava (the floor is hot lava again).
This movie made that Hallelujah song that Leonard Cohen had written well over a decade earlier popular. John Cale performed it for the movie, and is the one I favor most in performing it. I believe the soundtrack swapped out his version for someone else's version.
While that song played, I loved the transition from Shrek alone at a table to Fiona alone at a table of the same size and shape, sitting in the spot opposite. I liked that blended transition.

    • @VerowakReacts
      @VerowakReacts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I've never heard of that movie, definitely a comedy though and it should be fun with Mike Meyers. I do like it when a movie or tv series makes a song popular, shows that the person in charge did an amazing job finding the perfect song for the moment.

While most people think the song “All Star” is from Shrek, it was first released as part of the soundtrack two years earlier for one of the most underrated movies ever, Mystery Men. MM is so much funnier now as it was released in 1999, prior to the superhero genre invading theaters and the public consciousness. It has aged very well.

Shrek, while wildly popular, is a strange one. Its theme is that people shouldn't be judged on their physical appearance, but it consistently undermines this message by mercilessly roasting Lord Farquaad for being so short. From start to finish, they hammer the villain, not on "what's inside," but on his height. "Don't dismiss people because they look different...unless they're a dwarf," is such an odd lesson!

It really spoke to a lot to kids that it’s ok to be different, different is something to be embraced and all the people out there you think are perfect, are just as flawed as everyone else.
