Dude, I think you fly over my house all the time going into Durango. I live outside of Bayfield CO off HWY 160 and started seeing this bright green Fairchild metro flying over every morning a couple of months ago. It's a loud one. I come running outside every time to check it out. I'm posting this on a few of your videos hoping you'll see it lol. The first video I posted on has a ton of comments and will prob get lost.

My God that is so pretty up there, we have nothing like that here in Florida. As just a private pilot I dream of the day of flying in the mountains and just being awe struck by those views! I've seen some other youtube channels fly in there and go explore the town, amazing! Denver Air has some of the best colors in the industry, I love how much they pop!
Love flying to Telluride, though my trips in weren't in some as fun as that Dornier, but in 182s and a 177rg threading my way through those peaks.
I have the honor of flying DAC GJT-APA this July and this video has me super pumped up! Please make more of these :)

As a pilot, I'm curious what the time and certification requirements are to fly for DAC. Does anybody know?
Nose dive down and slam on the brakes, 30 years ago all the luggage in the back slid forward lol

As dangerous and busy Telluride is, it really surprises me there is no control tower.
Absolutely dangerous and busy (20 flights a day sometimes). No surprise, money talks.
I moved to Telluride in 1971 and witnessed the "quick" airport being built in 1984. I say quick because many corners were cut, including no control tower, and no "one way in and one way out" airstrip. since 84' there have been 24 NTSB reports made, 16 aircraft damaged or destroyed, 9 lives lost and many a skivees soiled. There absolutely should have been a control tower in this control space and minimum requirements for pilots and airplanes. Density Altitude mountain flying and clear air turbulence training are not a requirement at this "scareport", and anybody and any aircraft land here daily. I have seen pilots with thousands of hours flight time, "stall spin", or fly into terrain, in their small underpowered craft, just because they get so engrossed in the dynamic surroundings, that they forget that you have to "push the stick forward when you're looking at the ground" which is basic, and "sightseeing tours" make for unsafe flying. (Oh look there's Opras house and look over there at Tom Cruses 10th home).Another time the "manager" at the airport, during a snow storm, let a jet from Mexico turn to final approach even though she had closed the runway and sent a snowplow out 8 minutes earlier. Did she forget??? The Faulker 400 crashed into the snowplow, sheering off a wing and spinning to a stop, God only knows why all the soles weren't lost. The NTSB didn't show up for this one either, go figure.
