From experience: Mother Agency contracts can be great or they can be hell. Do yourself a favor and look over the contract with a legal professional before you sign anything! And always look into the reviews of the agency.
I'm from India and there is a agency where they have a 3 year contract In the mean time you're not supposed to give any other auditions or work with any company. Incase if they break the contract they are supposed to pay some ' x ' amount of money in the name of broken contract. That's hilarious Great that I didn't signed made myself struck somewhere.
Man i wish i would have watched something like these a year ago, bcoz i signed with this agency it was small Modeling agency and since then i haven't done anything whatsoever, i have like 2 months left for my contract to end which im so excited abt but damn can't believe theu didn't find me a work wven once
I wanna become a model and I consider myself a pretty goodlooking guy, i've got the height, slim and also structured body, long legs and arms, high torso and a good jawline etc... But for some reason I tend to judge my self to much on my facial looks when I take a picture OR look at the mirror almost as it I'm not good looking enough and it kinda lowers my self esteem in a way. Any advice?

Just do it, I've already got two contracts (modelling agencies in one go) trust me if you do not take risks in life you'll never know on whether it was worth it
i’m slightly overweight my eyes are uneven and already got my first contract, wherever you don’t fit they’ll put you and it’s all about embracing inclusivity nowadays, ofc take care of yourself but remember don’t compare yourself to anyone else your perfect no matter how what anyone else thinks including a model agency or designer you work for!
Love your energy and positive information. I am a Photographer/Actor/Filmmaker/ (Master of none) in the NYC Area. I have been working on a book and you are on my radar. In the last few years due to various social and health issues in the States, the industry has been in some serious changes and the economics is horrific. Keep up the good work. I will continue to watch and will have questions you may find helful or not. 'Breaking a Leg".
I have a few questions.... *please reply :3* (1) if your mother agency gets the model a job in a foreign area with a different agency, who pays for travel expenses, hotel, food ect? and regarding other types of contracts (normal scenario not involving mother agency) (2) are there any agencies that would be willing to pay for, provide or help with transportation for models to travel to clients/work? If necessary and appropriate, how should the model go about talking to the agency about this? I am asking because I dont drive at this time and a friend told me she knew a model whose agency did that for her because she lived in a city neighboring her agency. (3) would signing a contract with an agency prevent a model from being able to be sponsored by or partner with companies via instagram and other social media? what if a company wants to use a models instagram photos (which the model took personally)? (4)what if a model doesnt like something in their contract? can they ask the agency to change it before it is signed? should the model give the agency an altered version of the contract to sign? lastly, does a model only go to castings that their agent chooses for them because the client showed interest?
4 the model may be able to get an attorney to negotiate a certain piece of the contract to accommodate to the model but in most cases no the contracts are made for a reason for all models who sign to follow. agency’s also provide different types of contracts
3. I’m currently signed to a mother agency right now and based off my experience (it may be different with other agencies), they don’t allow us to take sponsorships outside the agency. Basically any paid job goes against the contract. Buuuut, if a company wants to sponsor me, I can give them the contact info of my agency and then they usually handle the specifics like negotiating the pay. I sometimes find that the agency gets them to bring up the initial price they offered. The obvious loop hole is to take a non paid opportunity but that has the downsides that maybe in the future, your agency finds an opportunity with them and they won’t want to pay you because you’ve already worked with them for free(or a lower price). Hopefully that helps!
Thank you! I’ll be terminating my 1 year exclusive contract with my current agency next month. Plus I met with another agency last week and they took a good interest into me. If I do get a contract with this new agency I’ll need to wait 30 days exactly to sign on board!
Ilovechicken i really eant to be a comercial model not cat walk model but I think my nose is too big and i am not slim i have curves and i am afraid they dont sign me bc of that
if you’re just about to start your modeling career can you send submissions to a lot of agencies at the same time and turn them down once you get into one??
I signed with elite model look Nigeria it's been now 3moths no news how long it takes to be called?? and i don't remember if my contract was non-exclusive or exclusive but next time i will see what my contract says coz now i know...thank you for your useful video fresh
Hi, I so appreciate your videos. I just signed as a mature model with EMG Models (my first agency ever) and the contract is non-exclusive; however, as EMG will be my Mother Agency, I will be paying them 20% for any booking I manage to get on my own. My question is what is the difference between a contract with a Mother Agency that is non-exclusive versus one that is exclusive if the Mother Agency will be trying to get you gigs through other agencies even if your contract is exclusive?
I am currently a teenager, about to turn 16 and I got an offer to start talks with a certain agency in NY. I don't want modeling to completely take over my life, as I still have school and other commitments at school. Are there ways that if I'm going to sign a contract, I have a way to "get out" if needed at any given time? As much as I love modeling, I want to see how far it takes me so I really want to be focused on school still.
I know the answer to my question probably depends on a lot of different factors, but what contract would you recommend for someone who is trying to make a good profit in this career?
Do you have any videos that talk about do the business side of modeling in more detail. How to be savy and proactive in pushing my career. I have an agency and a manager as well but i don't really know whats happening?
Thank you for this video. I have a mother agency contract with Sync models it's states I have to pay a monthly management fee of R200 on top of the the 20% commission for each gig should I sign or am I being scammed.
Can I still get signed if i'm 6'4 190 lbs male and mininal acne under my chin? My other concern is thatm y muscles arent super defined (is that really bad too)? Is 19 too late to start? and my final question is if I go to a school in Illinois almost 3 hours south from Chicago should I omit telling agencies? Modeling is something I really want. Love the videos
Ohh, so what you mean is that under non exclusive contract; I can be under Elite models as a high fashion model and I can be under ford models as a commercial model 🤔
I feel like I could become a male model but I just don’t feel confident with my face 😔 I have chubby cheeks, Chinese eyes, (I’m Mexican), I’ve only seen mostly white models :(
I'd wager that many agencies are on the hunt for a little diversity. Whatever you look like, own it! Play to your unique characteristics and you could probably get far in this career with dedication and patience.

what do you do if the city and state you live in does not really have access to big fashion modeling agencies, without having to spending a lot of money. I want to be a successful plus size model. I have already taken headshots, im wanting to send them off.
Big question; do I really need to be a independent model with no contract or do I need to eventually sign with an agency or model management company for a contract or can I just get the contract by me being independent?
Thank you. I do have ideal suit size, and I have lot of potential. Also, they took me in, right there at the casting, no time to think. Maybe I should try other agency?
