If you’re like me and you're passionate about modeling, but you've been rejected by a modeling agency, and you didn't understand why. This video will help clear things up. As a model, we want to be taken serious and off-course paid for our work, many of us dread the inevitable question by every inquirer "What agency are you signed with?"
Cue eye roll, am I right? It’s almost as if having representation is the real-life blue checkmark verification. These days, with social media and everyone having the ability to create their own channels and content, the art of the agency hunt has been somewhat lost. Finding a perfect match can be a daunting task, especially if you’re just getting started.
But fear not! In this video, I give you 5 simple tips to get you signed to a modeling agency.

it feels like i was made for this. every video I watch in preparation for my first audition tomorrow gets me more and more excited. first of all I got my first ever audition to the first agency I applied to hours after submitting my photo and it just happened on Wednesday this week. i cannot wait for this oh my goodness. after years of abuse I'm gonna work as hard as I can to get as far as I can. thank you for the amazing advice, definitely subscribed after this video and now I'm onto the first part video on this because I haven't seen that one yet hahaha omg I'm so freakin excited. Do you have a video on how to make connections?? (I.e. how to set up collabs, popular conventions, workshops, fashion week, popular events for starters) I always hear about events like this but can never find out how to attend them.
Instagram is great for making connections. Follow other models, fashion photographers and agencies. Reach out to people in your city and see if they are open for collabs. You can also use an app like www.fstop.fm to find out artist to collab with. As far as workshops, most of them aren't really worth it. You can learn everything you need to know for free on TH-cam. For events, I'll say look up runway shows in your city via eventbrite and see if you can get tickets
try promotional model companies in your area.

I have a question for ya, I’m already signed in Chicago (lifestyle) but it seems as is there barely any work. Is that normal? Seems to be bridal and mom stuff, the end. A couple of fitting clothes but nth major, couple runways that ended up being a bigger expense rather than anything else. Rough market it seems, maybe there’s just not much?
Hi Catalina, sometimes its seasonal in Chicago. You can go months without booking anything and then you can get slammed with bookings (especially during fashion week). That’s how Chicago is...perhaps you should look into representation in NYC as well
Hey ! Great content i have been following you for a while now. I am an aspiring model i dont have the height but a really nice agency did approve my portfolio but didnt revert to the introduction video i sent. Most agencies ask for RAW pictures without makeup and editing but you said that there is no such thing as RAW digitals in the industry , though i believe in what you said but i am afraid to submit professional digitals as it clearly states that poloroid shots are needed.
It would be great if you can clarify this.

Hi man! Thank you so much for the video! What if you aren’t “interesting-looking” and have more of a “commercial” look but your heart is set on High Fashion? Hi, you should go into commercial modeling if you have the specs for commercial so as to not to waste your time and money going for High Fashion castings. Commercial modeling include, prints, catalogue shoots, Tv ads basically shoots relate to the public(shoots that involve selling
an item for the general public) .

If you have body measuremants (hight + required body measurments) for high fashion you should definitly try it. There is no such thing as not interesting looking. Alessandra Ambrosio is very generic plus she did a lot of corective surgery to become even more generic and she's a supermodel. Not every supermodel has to have Gisele's big nose or something off. Hello! Do you have any tips on how to become a commercial model? Lots of modeling agencies are set on high fashion only and I can’t meet their height requirement. Any specific place I could look to receive work as a commercial model?

Hey! Thanks for awesome tips! I'm living in Toronto, Canada and I went in for interview with 3 agencies so far. All of them asked to pay for my photosoot $400 and comp cards $350. No exepction. I asked them if they can advance these fees coz I heard proper agencies will advance these fees then deduct the fees once I make money. Maybe it's different in the U.S. Do you think it's normal or they're just trying to rip me off?

Hi Priya, thanks for your message. As long as you meet the height requirement and your body fat percentage is around 8-12%, I don't think the stretch marks will be a problem for runway modeling.

What are the measurement requirements for guys?
I recently went to an open call. They told me they were interested and would like to do a test shoot with me. They asked me to email them once I had returned home and they'd get in contact with some recommended photographers, but, they haven't replied to my email yet (2 days now). Would they have told me this if they weren't interested to save the awkwardness of disappointing me? Or am I overthinking it?
They are well used to crushing your dreams right into your face, so I dont think they were just avoiding direct rejection. Just be patient, I think theyre busy now with fashion week

Your waist is too big; most models have a 23” waist

You don't have to wear glasses, there are contacts now. Plus not everyone who is above 175 cm has a body or a face propotional or photogenic enough to become a model. But if you really want it bad enough you'll fight for it. Gisele is also not very pretty and was rejected 42 times but in the end (when she got in a relationship with de Caprio😂😅😂) she became a supermodel and not all of his former model long time girlfriends became that though most of them did😅.

So was Gisele, Allesandrea, and the one who looks just like Irina Shaykatovski twin, I casn't remember her name at this second but she's very famous. Only 59 kg is 10kg to many for a 5'9" to become a high fashion model. You're so lucky to live in Brasil, you have great oportunities there.

Anything is posibile but is it probable, no. But that doesn't mean for you not to try to persue your dreams.

It doesnt have to be in your country, theres no rule about that
you can get scouted by an agency million of miles a way then you travel to them and from there idk.

Yes it is. You can (almost) never be too tall for a model. It all depends on you other features (age, body shape, face).

They get too many submissions to respond to everyone. Keep trying other agencies, and submit high quality photos that shows off your best features. You want to make sure you’re making a great first impression
