Hi Matt, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the alarm going off when you opened the OSR door is symptomatic of a door latch failure so I suspect it won't be locking that door when you lock the car, it's not unheard of with Evoque and XF of this age. To test it, lock the car and leave the keys out of range in case it has keyless entry (don't think it does, but covering all bases) and see if the door still opens and the alarn goes off. Thought I'd let you know as I know you pride yourself on preparing cars to a very high standard and wouldn't want to deal with a complaint. You may find by sorting it that you have folding mirrors too (if fitted) as when a door latch fails, the mirrors won't fold in as they only do this at the end of the sequence once all doors are locked. Nice Evoque Matt! I bought a 2013 one 3 years ago with only 32000 miles on it! Never knew these were Haldex. I assumed they were all Torsen full time AWD being a range rooney designed around off road capability. I suppose when being designed by Posh Spice, they went for looks over function. Great review as always. Still holding out for your advise on warranty work and how it impacts the dealers....still intrigued.
Nice one. for a car that age I wouldn't bother with genuine JLR service parts, assuming you can even get them, since good quality branded ones from OE suppliers would do.
My dad used to own a 2012 RR Evoque prestige si4 (orkney grey with santorini black roof). I absolutely loved that car.. Options really make or break this car imo: adaptive dampers, automatic and a full leather interior can transform this car from a rebadged freelander to a proper mini Range Rover.
I quite like that colour to my surprise! Whilst I have always liked Evoques I just wouldn't risk buying one with an ingenium diesel and the petrol engined version seem few and far between! Seems like you have done OK with this one providing the engine doesn't blow in the first few months and you are faced with sorting it!
I originally subscribed to this channel because I am fascinated by the used motor trade and there are many YT channels that cater for this interest, but none are more entertaining than this one. Matt's running commentary is informative and funny and he is a real star with great comedy timing.
What I want to know after watching most of your videos is did you manage to sell the car? And what price did you actually achieve in the end? I enjoy watching these! 👍
From what one sees on the internet, Range Rovers values are falling badly on the grounds of theft risk. Is this really a factor that you are seeing in your local market? (Maybe it's a London thing?) Thanks for a great video again!
Usually that rattle at start up will be the timing chain. As the hydraulic tensioner gets oil pressure and finds the stretchy chain it stops. First sign I'm afraid. Hopefully I might be wrong 😅 yey I'm wrong!
I've saw one recently advertised in the same colour but it had black painted wheels on it and it looked good, and I'm not a huge fan of the wheels painted like this but the colour combo went together well. My brother had a couple of them as company cars and he loved them too. Great vid Matt.
Hi mate, Just watched a few of your videos today. I thought you were very honest and thorough in your car reviews so i have subscribed. I reckon i would buy a car from you. Stevie in Fife.
I keep seeing a MINI Convertible in our local Sainsbury car park. Similar "brown " colour only darker with a chocolate covered folding roof brown alloys and a brown interior - seats are leather in contrasting chocolate and beige. All of the brown makes me feel I should be repelled by it but tell you what it has something .....
Nice car only problem with them mate is no one can get insurance on them there being stolen so much that the value has dropped under half the value of them watch a program last night about them JLR are having to bring there own insurance out to help stop the rot but even they are now refusing insurance crazy hope you can shift it but you will struggle
Struggling with this one and why it's so cheap. EGR and DPF at that mileage suggests a runaround thats not done any long trips (makes a case for Millers Eco Max or 2EHN additive) but work has been done so seems good. I just don't trust the Ingenium camchains, so would look for the tensioner being checked or fixed as a buyer. Spec is fine, Nexen Nfera tyres are a good (Pareto principle) call and quieter than comparable Michelin/Pirellis with most of the performance. A solid and good car.
"a nice box to use, it's quite tight" yea that's what we all desire

Ahahahah
If the front box isn't tight enough, they have a back box. Usually does the trick.

This video almost made me wanted to buy one. A Range Rover that is. Horror stories abound about insurance. Maybe worth a mention Matt?
Matt, every respectable automotive youtube chanel or Landrover enthusiast MUST feature/own a P38! 😀😀😀 I have a 1996 4.0V8 with only 52000km.
Had a 2015 Evoque Dynamic in the same colour - loved it I did.
It replaced a 2012 White "Pure"...
Now drive a 2021 Evoque HSE.
Great cars......
I originally subscribed to this channel because I am fascinated by the used motor trade and there are many YT channels that cater for this interest, but none are more entertaining than this one. Matt's running commentary is informative and funny and he is a real star with great comedy timing.
Thanks!
The colour reminds me of the Limestone Grey as used on the Mk7 Golf R.
You decided to leave the AA sticker then! Mind you, they are going to need it! ;) :D
Keyless entry are the ones they target I believe.
I was waiting for you to say, “you know what, I might keep this one”. 😂
I've got a Jaguar XF same year as this Evoque and had fun noticing all the same parts they share.
Usually that rattle at start up will be the timing chain. As the hydraulic tensioner gets oil pressure and finds the stretchy chain it stops. First sign I'm afraid. Hopefully I might be wrong 😅 yey I'm wrong!
It was coming from the back of the car
Matt ranting at the little picanto 😂Oh this car looks so nice. Hope it will be sold fast
Evoque. Brings me back to a Top Gear episode when James May drove it on Las Vegas.
Kimora is a small seaside town on the east coast of the South island of New Zealand Famous for Whale watching and sea food.
A nice car for the money.
It would fit right in, in retired suburbia.
Don't forget the Faraday pouch for the keyless fob.
Those rear tyres were originally on the front I think (sad)
*well* (pause) we're here
Please if you ever make any High Peak merch get this classic phrase on it😂
Ive got an XF jag in 'Vapour grey' very similar colour to that Evoque
I've saw one recently advertised in the same colour but it had black painted wheels on it and it looked good, and I'm not a huge fan of the wheels painted like this but the colour combo went together well. My brother had a couple of them as company cars and he loved them too. Great vid Matt.
Interesting to see a comparison between this and the NX
Another cracking vid Matt, i see you left the AA sticker. I think its a great colour!
Excellent playing, nice and clean from low b to c sharp. glad you use that little side key for A sharps which is smoother and purer sounding.
I like land rovers, i have 4 currently but none of them run that 2.0 d, its a brave venture for someone.
Thankgoodness for "WONDERGRIP" looks like its stuck to the floor. Another great video.
I had the alloys painted on my old 325ci in BMW 'Sepang Bronze' once.
Dpf Egr etc develop issues because they are driven at low revs/high gears.
And most drivers haven't a clue basically
Hi mate,
Just watched a few of your videos today. I thought you were very honest and thorough in your car reviews so i have subscribed.
I reckon i would buy a car from you.
Stevie in Fife.
Much appreciated!
It's not just the car that makes the channel It's the wit & humour that goes with it !!!😂🎉
I keep seeing a MINI Convertible in our local Sainsbury car park. Similar "brown " colour only darker with a chocolate covered folding roof brown alloys and a brown interior - seats are leather in contrasting chocolate and beige. All of the brown makes me feel I should be repelled by it but tell you what it has something .....
i had a 1 series in that colour..... they called it Havana Brown ... i loved the colour and still do. Tidy car that
I'm watching & listening knowing this one is gonna be interesting 🍿
Nice car only problem with them mate is no one can get insurance on them there being stolen so much that the value has dropped under half the value of them watch a program last night about them JLR are having to bring there own insurance out to help stop the rot but even they are now refusing insurance crazy hope you can shift it but you will struggle
Sorry Matt but when you got to Manuel I switched of on the good side good win tonight, no injuries 😅😊
Matt you forgot to do that one last thing! I’m disappointed! 😂 (not) you forgot to remove that AA sticker from the screen!
