By far this is the most entertaining video of yours to date. Sad to see another L322 "blinged up" laden with abhorrent add-ons but it was worth the physical cringes it caused for the laughter I had when you tested the suspension. Truly comical
It would be good to see a mini series on this project to see how it comes along after each step, albeit its a mountain of work but should be sorted when its done.
The good/bad thing about this is that you can see what a beautiful car it is, under all the faults and dirt....it needs to be saved! Loved it when the air suspension went off on one... :)

@@JavierCR25 It happens slowly. One item at a time. Then when there's an 'intervention' and somebody comes along and tries to put everything right in one session it is a mammoth job. I've just done this with an Audi A6. A lot of the problems were fixed with a £60 valet as underneath the (literally) mould there was an alright car.

This is what I call a "council house special" much like the late model discoverys, the cheap purchase price attracts the wrong sort. They spend all the bank's money on the purchase price and have nothing left over for the necessary maintenance.

My mechanic had one of these and is now leasing out a new Land Rover for less money than it costs to fuel one of these. Essentially he said the Land Rover is “free”. Still the 0-60mph is impressive considering the size.

It's true what you say about having a fund for repairs, I was at the tyre house today and a fella was there looking for part worn tyres for a 4 yr old range rover, he said he wasnt prepared to pay for new tyres

For a Rangie, maintenance is everything. I have a P38 1995 4.6. It has needed work. It has needed servicing. It has never let me down. Buy a Range Rover! Maintain it. It will be great! Happy motoring!
As much as I like to see you saving cars & keeping them on the road.....this has had it. The bill for all of the suspension work is going to be grim matie.
It's not cheap stuff, and it's no guarantee you'll see a return. I've just sunk two and a half grand (at least) into suspension and steering repairs on a TD6 only for the turbo to pack up shortly afterwards. Genuinely don't know whether to persevere given that the cost is already sunk or cut my losses, and I do love the car even if it is a pain in the bum to keep running.
I see 5 Grand later and an amazingly well sorted car that you will struggle to get the money back on. On the flip side you are saving an amazing car and somebody somewhere will want it. Hope you get your money back and some profit. Somebody has to save them. Good on you Matt. 👍
Nobody would have treated a 100k+ Porsche or Maserati like this. Why do people do such things to Range Rovers? Hope he gets some TLC and will be back on road someday.

You could buy a new wing in Buckingham Blue, and another wing in Buckingham Blue, and a tailgate, and a grill, or ....... you could buy a better Range Rover in Buckingham Blue and save some workshop hours!! Just kidding! Go for it Matt, save another Range Rover and sell it to someone who is going to appreciate it!

Thanks for another awesome video. On the used car market there are loads of cheap, highly depreciated luxury cars that are so tempting to buy but no one knows (like me) what to expect. Thankfully your taking risks of buying old Bentleys, range rovers etc, while your there without breaking a sweat… I wish I had the knowledge you do😅

Question - are you sure that was the suspension and not a switch for a Barista-operated coffee machine fitted into the rear?
First things first, great find for so cheap. My list in order would be: 1.) Clean out interior. I'm talking remove all junk, vacuum, shampoo, wipe down, clean it all deep and well. Throw away the black ice Little Tree for the love of all that is holy. 2.) Give exterior a good hose down, see if any leaks are present(doubtful but never know). 3.) Pass MOT. I'm not too familiar with it, but I'm assuming it must meet emissions, tires, lights, fluids, filters, wipers, horn etc. Getting it to pass MOT alone will get you a trust worthy vehicle and knock out anything else on this list as far as drivability. 4.) Repair rust areas. 5.) Convert back to good old gasoline( petrol ;) ) As far as wheels, it has 1 original, the right rear. Keep them, put new rubber on. Sell the others and put proceeds towards laundry list. Goodluck, stay patient, L322 is a great car. They just need a lot of love! But not as much as some others.
It's got a woodpecker in the boot(noisy suspension!!) Lots of little jobs but could be made nice again. Great engine, worth saving and a profit to be made, go on Matt you know your inner geek wants you to!! Cheers.

Back in 2016 I saw a new LPG converted Range Rover on the M4. Hard to miss as it was on fire and the police closed the motorway down in both directions for hours due to risk of explosion.
Hi Matt, purchased one of these only a couple of months back, java black and more miles but in better condition and cheaper then yours. mine also has the stupid exhaust but already sourced an original. look forward to seeing what you do to this one. love your Range Rover content.
I would retain wings and and source a colour matching plug (as next owner may wish to refit quarts) , the alloys should provide 4 correct wheels the remaining ones will have a value on eBay, key areas surely are air suspension, bushes and oil change etc. The exhaust could be left as again a new owner may like the noise.

I think you should drive it to Morecambe Bay and leave it there till the tide comes in.

Goodluck, stay patient, L322 is a great car. They just need a lot of love! But not as much as some others.
It's got a woodpecker in the boot(noisy suspension!!) Lots of little jobs but could be made nice again. Great engine, worth saving and a profit to be made, go on Matt you know your inner geek wants you to!! Cheers.

Matt your bonkers but to be applauded if you do rescue it. Having said that, the purchase price was worth the "hissin' hilarious" look on your face at the end. Love it and keep up the videos and rescuessssssssssssssssssssssss.

Back in 2016 I saw a new LPG converted Range Rover on the M4.
Hard to miss as it was on fire and the police closed the motorway down in both directions for hours due to risk of explosion.
It will be great to see the transformation of this Range Rover back to its original specification and condition.
Hi Matt, purchased one of these only a couple of months back, java black and more miles but in better condition and cheaper then yours. mine also has the stupid exhaust but already sourced an original. look forward to seeing what you do to this one. love your Range Rover content.
I would retain wings and and source a colour matching plug (as next owner may wish to refit quarts) , the alloys should provide 4 correct wheels the remaining ones will have a value on eBay, key areas surely are air suspension, bushes and oil change etc. The exhaust could be left as again a new owner may like the noise.
