@High Peak Autos I knew when you were driving to it in the Merc you were keeping it to fix . I said to my missus he's going to do it up.. you can't help yourself when it comes to Range Rovers😂😂😂. I have to agree though despite all the faults there's nothing else like them on the road.

That hissing, groaning and creaking suspension was too good! Despite the fact that you shouldn't touch the thing with a bargepole, I'm very glad you're going ahead with it and we get to come along for the ride!

It would be good to see a mini series on this project to see how it comes along after each step, albeit its a mountain of work but should be sorted when its done.

By far this is the most entertaining video of yours to date. Sad to see another L322 "blinged up" laden with abhorrent add-ons but it was worth the physical cringes it caused for the laughter I had when you tested the suspension. Truly comical

The good/bad thing about this is that you can see what a beautiful car it is, under all the faults and dirt....it needs to be saved!

Your view on the internet and its forums discribes it perfectly, the part the air compressor starts a life of its own made my day. Great channel to get your mind of things and just watch realistic content without to much drama 👍🏻
I really hate seeing any car reach this state of disrepair and would normally hope some brave soul brought it back from the brink. But in this case, Matt, I’d sell it as seen 😢

@@JavierCR25 It happens slowly. One item at a time. Then when there's an 'intervention' and somebody comes along and tries to put everything right in one session it is a mammoth job. I've just done this with an Audi A6. A lot of the problems were fixed with a £60 valet as underneath the (literally) mould there was an alright car.
Me too. I'd run away screaming, purely for effect.

Thanks for another awesome video. On the used car market there are loads of cheap, highly depreciated luxury cars that are so tempting to buy but no one knows (like me) what to expect. Thankfully your taking risks of buying old Bentleys, range rovers etc, while your there without breaking a sweat… I wish I had the knowledge you do😅

This is what I call a "council house special" much like the late model discoverys, the cheap purchase price attracts the wrong sort. They spend all the bank's money on the purchase price and have nothing left over for the necessary maintenance.

My mechanic had one of these and is now leasing out a new Land Rover for less money than it costs to fuel one of these. Essentially he said the Land Rover is “free”.
Still the 0-60mph is impressive considering the size.
0-60 = 7.2 sec and 385BHP

You have balls of steel Matt. If I have one request, please bin the exhaust. I’d usually take this opportunity to plug my own video on this very Range Rover, but it decided not to work before I had the chance to drive it. I’m certainly invested in whatever you do with it, emotionally that is, not financially.
You could buy a new wing in Buckingham Blue, and another wing in Buckingham Blue, and a tailgate, and a grill, or ....... you could buy a better Range Rover in Buckingham Blue and save some workshop hours!!
Just kidding!

Great video, love that era of Range Rover, especially the Supercharged. Could you please, one day, try to review (or buy) a Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST from the same era, 2006-2008? Those were seriously cool looking, loved the aggressive bodykit that they came with from factory. Keep up the good work 👍
Hi Matt, purchased one of these only a couple of months back, java black and more miles but in better condition and cheaper then yours. mine also has the stupid exhaust but already sourced an original. look forward to seeing what you do to this one. love your Range Rover content.
I've seen more rusty L322 than any P38s, how could anyone mistreat and not looking after this is beyond me.

As much as I like to see you saving cars & keeping them on the road.....this has had it. The bill for all of the suspension work is going to be grim matie.
I agree. As much as Matt has a great feeling for Range Rovers, in this particular case he ought to lie down until the feeling passes......
It's not cheap stuff, and it's no guarantee you'll see a return. I've just sunk two and a half grand (at least) into suspension and steering repairs on a TD6 only for the turbo to pack up shortly afterwards. Genuinely don't know whether to persevere given that the cost is already sunk or cut my losses, and I do love the car even if it is a pain in the bum to keep running.

Great video Matt, it just reminded me, I went to have look around our JaguarRange Rover main dealer in York. There was a brand new Range Rover Autobiography in the showroom £197000, I couldn’t believe the price but what a car, absolutely brilliant !! They have certainly moved on.Anyway I agree with you about doing the car up. I love them as much as you although we have an F Pace and XK8.
Insane the amount of car there for 2.5k, doesn't make sense financially but imagine how much the materials/R&D cost to make the car in the first place back in 2006!

Question - are you sure that was the suspension and not a switch for a Barista-operated coffee machine fitted into the rear?
Enjoyed that. The air suspension test made me chuckle, its failure to inflate mirroring your deflation on your new purchase. A little aside, in your pondering at the end you kept touching your mouth after touching that steering wheel & it was triggering me. Happy cold sores & good luck.
It's got a woodpecker in the boot(noisy suspension!!) Lots of little jobs but could be made nice again. Great engine, worth saving and a profit to be made, go on Matt you know your inner geek wants you to!! Cheers.

It's true what you say about having a fund for repairs, I was at the tyre house today and a fella was there looking for part worn tyres for a 4 yr old range rover, he said he wasnt prepared to pay for new tyres

The sensible thing to do would be to move it on ASAP! but we know your attachment issues where Range Rover's are concerned😅 Would be great to see it restored but its a big project and my guess is you will spend more than its worth getting it sorted but what price entertainment?
