I have a p229 legion. Love it. And it’s small enough to carry iwb. The gun is quality throughout. I’ve had mine for two years and no issues with the finish.
I know I'm late, but I bought my P229 Legion three weeks ago. Despite the ammo shortage, I have over 5,500 rounds of 9am ammo, yet I'm almost afraid to shoot the pistol. I know I'm going to love it when I do.
I don't know what you mean there, mozzberg - I've got the 229 Legion in .357 Sig and it's my EDC; my cheaper Glocks and HK's are sitting in the safe! This gun shoots way too well to be locked up.
Epi Cris Same here Chris...my 229 is my EDC and my other pistols are neglected. Like I said up top I would love a 238 or 938 legion for a more comfortable summer carry but until then it's my 229 legion all day every day.
Not a summer carry gun for me; I OWB the P229 Legion in a Blackhawk Serpa paddle or a Bravo Concealment belt holster in the winter, under a jacket/coat. I *do* have an IWB for it, and it works to conceal well - but even with a good belt, it feels like someone is trying to give me a reverse wedgie. Not for the faint of heart!
Epi Cris you have the best one, I have the same one & I just can't bring myself to pick up anything else besides that one.....I feel the same way about my vepr 12
Wow! That is a great looking and shooting pistol....I've got the SIG P250; 2022; and two 938;s, I love them all especially the 938's those are my EDC guns, I have to be careful 'cause lots of times I forget I have it on my waist. I've wanted a 229 for awhile but the price has caused me to veer off track. I really think SIG makes the most accurate handguns, don't know what their secret is but even my 250, a double action 9mm is more accurate than I can shoot....really amazed me. I think having to concentrate on the DA pull end up making for a more accurate shot. Thanks for the vids Big Daddy, I hit the "like" button to help with TH-cam.
Just brought home a P320C and P224 within the last two weeks. This video is going to make me really want the Legion P229...if I didn't want one already.
Beyond Sig it's the best shooter straight out of the box period. Unfortunately the finish wears way to easy for 1100 bucks plus but still my favorite sig. I want a p238 or 938 legion version for summer carry.
So dumb question but I assume the 229 is the same as the 226 (in the legion series) besides barrel length? I can't decide on the legion 226 or 229, or the p226mk.
Not from what I have seen. Now I have not carried it, just shot it a few times on the range. Only time will tell. The PVD coating was one of the selling points for me.
kauxkaux its not horrible but it's def not up to par with the price tag. I own the 229 in 9mm and the p226 SAO in 356 sig and while they are the best shooters straight out of the box I have ever owned they both have premature wear to the finish just from regular carry. I have custom made holsters for both and its still an issue. I have seen plenty of pictures of some that are horrible so I guess it could be worse.
Why is it that 100% of the sig legion p229 videos online are of the light grey finish, but 100% of these pistols for sale online are of the darker olive grey finish?
okay i want one like now but cant decide if i should go for the 226 version or go for the 229. is the extra few inches worth it? first gun was a ati 1911 so i was looking for a good 9mm to upgrade too.
+micheal huertas (hellhound411) I personally prefer the 229. It is small enough to carry iwb. The 226 is duty size. I guess it depends on what role you want to to perform.
Big Daddy I have this gun and also the elite model . Funny thing the elite is the shooter out of the two , I think the sights are off on he legion and it’s going back to sig .
BigDaddyHoffman1911 No problem, I just found your channel a few hours ago and I've enjoyed all your content I've seen so far. Definitely gonna subscribe.
sigs are great but in the last 9 years they have priced themself out of the matter for the masses. The only thing they have close to affordability is the p320
For $1200, that's a little too much. I have P229 non legion with nickle slide and black lower. I bought that back in 1999. It's still one of my favorite gun.
Thats a down grade from the vintage German frame model with it's poor finish, loose slide not tight tolerances like the vintage SIGARMS P229 and it's problematic long extractor not as reliable as the short one that past DHS 3 million round torture test 😎👍
This gun is still so far behind glock. It's heavier, costs way more, high bore axis, grip is too big and uncomfortable, can't really mod frame/grip without costing an arm/leg, not a lot of market support, reset is not as good as a glock, finish is nowhere as good as glock's tennifer super durable finish, not that much more accurate than a glock, and not as reliable! Source: Firearms owner of many brands including Sigs! I am also not a brand fan boy, just stating the fact as an enthusiast! I'd still buy it to collect as an investment, but it's not on par with a glock in term of being the more effective handgun.
The fact that you compared it to Glock vs any other firearm shows you are a Glock fanboy 😂, there are wayyyy more out there that blow Glock out of the water.
I have a p229 legion. Love it. And it’s small enough to carry iwb. The gun is quality throughout. I’ve had mine for two years and no issues with the finish.
I am not usually one for the hype, but this was the best shooting Sig I have ever shot. Sweet Legion Pie!
I like it w/o the rail
I love mine. Best I've ever owned.
I know I'm late, but I bought my P229 Legion three weeks ago. Despite the ammo shortage, I have over 5,500 rounds of 9am ammo, yet I'm almost afraid to shoot the pistol. I know I'm going to love it when I do.
I bought the P229 Legion SAO last week, awesome pistol!
How's it holdin up after 3 years? How's the wear on the finish? Hopefully you still have it.
@@Mrdanielmesa Only had it about a year, just to chunky in the grip for me. The pistol was very nice and the finish held up fine for me.
Right on for your Sig P938 EDC.
Hard to beat a Sig
The prettier, and more $$$$, the deeper in the safes they go and the plain-jain run of the mill guns do the real work. Thank you Big Daddy

Price isn't the issue- but 34 ounces conceal carry?

Great review BigDaddy. The Legion is excellent
+TheFireArmGuy Thank you my friend.
Bought a Sig last month...
Tons of fun!
Looks good, feels good and
Shoots great!
Just bought one....believe the hype people!!!
About my adoption, I don't eat much or take up much space! I can pick up that brass too!
LOL, I hear ya.
I love mine. P229 Legion 9mm it's my EDC..
What holster are you running with it? Did you add a light? What position do you carry? Sorry for all the questions I want to make this my edc
The Sig 229 isy favorite pistol, i have 1 almost 30yr old looks great runs like new. Beautiful pistol great video

I just got an email stating the legion versions of those are coming
I'll be picking mine up next week .it just feels comfortable in your hand. Enjoy your new hardware . I'm excited to shoot mine soon.
That's some expensive pie! We love ya Big Daddy.
I heard that the grip is a bit wide. Is that uncomfortable? I have medium size hands.
So dumb question but I assume the 229 is the same as the 226 (in the legion series) besides barrel length? I can't decide on the legion 226 or 229, or the p226mk.
My Sig 229 Legion is my favorite Sig, what a trigger!
I have this gun.....I just shot the p229 emperor scorpion & now I want that one
Our dad shot a 226 one of these and loved it! Nice gun!
Thanks for your videos buddy....
Legion is just as good as a p226 elite stainless or dark version
Merry Christmas Big Daddy.
Looking to get this gone thanks for doing this review.
Thanks for another great video BigDaddy!
Always a pleasure. Thanks Mike
My son got the 226 and 229 Legion and loves them
Very nice.
A lot of people are saying that the finish is horrible and not durable at all? any experiences with that?
Not from what I have seen. Now I have not carried it, just shot it a few times on the range. Only time will tell. The PVD coating was one of the selling points for me.

Many documented cases of the finish rubbing off after some light use... hope it goes really well for you.
Where are many of these documented cases? Cut, paste, and post the links to these many.

One of the many sites talking about it:

I am looking at this and the P226MK, for me it is hard though as I have a hard time spending over $1k on a pistol (rifle or shotgun no problem).
+jeff mather I hear ya. Once you make that jump, there is no coming back ;).
Big Daddy I have this gun and also the elite model . Funny thing the elite is the shooter out of the two , I think the sights are off on he legion and it’s going back to sig .
nice vid man

Wish it was a little more lefty friendly. Other than that very nice looking gun.

Kinda like Michelin tires.
Frank Wood buy used

Great review, love the humor. Keep making them guys

I got my P229 Legion 40 Cal brand new for $855!
u have
NICE VIDEO. BUT I THINK THERE IS INCONSISTENCY IN THE TESTS 1) SHOOTS OF EACH PERSON, 2) THE TREATMENT OF DIFFERENT PERSONS IN THE TESTS
My name is legion and we are many 🃏 Semper Fi
Captain Howdy quoting the devil is not safe....ijs
try you use sniper AWP
Maybe I'm a fool for asking this... but does this gun have a safety?
Not on this one. Only P226 SAO model has safety.
Evan Dusthimer the have the 229 sao now too
It has a decocker. But no manual safety.
"Like, favor, subscribe" ....? Been on my phone for 3 hours trying to figure out how to favor this video.
challenge coin, oooh ra
Yeah buddy
hahahhahah if your going somewhere that was funny.
Thinking I’ll send it into grey guns to get a stronger finish and flat faced trigger. Make a 1400 dollar gun 2000 fuck it
