After two attempts on his life once by his aging mother and then by his demented uncle, I have a feeling that deep down Tony don’t respect the elderly.
Tony using feech’s loyalty to "this thing of ours" by setting him up and having him sent to jail because he knows he wont flip is a perfect example of how much these slimy, crooked rats actually value honor and their code. Every mobster, both in the sopranos and in real life, are like this. Snakes with suits.
I would have loved to have seen how Tony spelled those names he wrote down for the FBI agents. I heard they had to bring in one of their specialists to decipher.
Ironically, Adriana got blackmailed by the Feds for covering up a murder that Ahmed and Mohammed committed, whilst they were drug-dealing at The Crazy Horse - Chris and Ad used to score coke and X off them. The Arabs cousins only "found" religion again to avoid connection to the murder case.
Uncle Junior talking about playing for the Mets really stung Tony, You could tell by the way he walked into the office all tough, Paulie and Chrissy's faces were like "Aw shit here we go with the Varsity Athlete stuff again"
@1:09. Agent Harris shakes his head when his supervisor brings up Tony's issue with his mother. Obviously Harris already knows what's on the tape. I wonder if he was somewhat sympathetic to Tony here. Maybe he has a difficult mother of his own. Later in the series, Harris and Tony develop an understand and almost a friendly rapport that culminates in Harris helping Tony kill Phil.
5:31 This last scene was always one of the most interesting to me. The way Tony helps the FBI in this particular instance: terrorism. And for all of us that know the series, the larger arc of the relationship between Tony and agent Harris, helping each other during this period and towards the end here and there to achieve their own means. Such great writing, so interesting. *Chef's kiss* What a show! Not just television, but artful storytelling!
I’ve never noticed till just now that Harris seemed like he didn’t approve of this tactic with Tony’s mother. By his reaction it seems like he thinks this is going to far. He’s a pretty likable character all the way through, especially at the end.
