The beauty of the sopranos is its sense of realism. And i dont think you can get that from an animated show. Also, the expressions the mannerisms wouldnt look as real in an animated show. But in a book, they just need to describe the expressions and mannerisms to you, and your mind fills the blanks.

It’s chilling that Tony only lost control because he kept killing off the people closest to him. To the point where his capos and himself became vulnerable. If he had found other avenues to discipline the members of his crew who stepped out of line, and even those loosely associated with the NJ crime family, things would have lasted a bit longer.
