Well, I always love a shopping vlog, but Wing Yip is the indulgent highlight for me.👍 Great range of interesting eats and a great narration throughout. Thank you, guys 👍👍👍
My wife and I went to Wing Yip yesterday too! We went to the one near Birmingham and had only ever become aware of Wing Yip from your videos. We had a right old good time and grabbed some bargains!
I love your wing yip videos, I am so jealous, we have a small Asian shop but it’s not particularly cheap, and doesn’t have all the fancy vegan stuff, but tempeh is good value, and I love to have a poke around
It’s been a while since I’ve been to Wing Yip, went to one of the Chinese supermarkets in Chinatown last weekend though. I know what Jason means about the noodle aisle though, I bloomin’ love noodles me! Spicier the better for me.
Brilliant, brilliant vlog. So many options! One day, I still hope the likes of WY will be 100% plant based. The day is drawing closer - maybe not in our life times, but it's getting there 👌
Living in Southern California we have a variety of markets. And to be perfectly honest, I’ve experienced reverse discrimination. But the prices are worth it. Good selection of fresh vegetables/fruits, rice, noodles, beans, canned goods, sauces/condiments.
Never seen whipping cream in a can! (Although back in the day we used to have canned condensed milk for pouring over puddings!) Amazing and a great thing to have in the cupboard.
There is a chain of grocery stores in the States called Saraga International Grocery and it's amazing can get everything you need for every ethnic cuisine out there.
I was at a Korean Market in Pittsburgh PA, USA and they had vegan kimchi mandu I bought a bag and my non-vegan coworkers enjoyed them as much as I did.
My Tesco (Stirling, Scotland) still sells the bags of frozen soya beans, thankfully, as they're now a staple for me, mixed with peas and sweetcorn. (But only after watching your vlogs! It would never have occurred to me to try them before seeing you buying and eating them!)
So glad you did this! We have a W.H.Lung in liverpool but it doesnt seem to have near enough vegan options as this place has, deffo worth the trip if youre only stocking up a few times a year as you say
Love a Wing Yip trip and haul to the Birmingham branch. Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons all sell frozen soya/edamame beans - I get from there and noticed Tesco stopped selling ages ago too
@@ThoseVeganGuys yer store specific but looked like the Sainsbury's you go to is quite big and mine is too so wondered if yours would sell too. Just looked through through the Lidl leaflet and it's Japan week from next Thursday and there are frozen soya beans included
Always look forward to your wing yip vlogs! Gave me great inspiration to check my local asian supermarkets here in belfast and there's some great things to be found!
Denver has a few really awesome stores: Pacific Ocean Mercantile, Hmart, and POM (Marketplace?) to name the "big ones" I'm sure there are others I don't know/remember. They are really awesome stores to visit....especially when you're feeling "snacky", maybe that's just me? 😆
So many great items at Wing Yip! ❤ I was very interested to see the bag of frozen lotus root slices. And I’m totally jealous of the plethora of items from Nature’s Charm. Very difficult to find it in the supermarkets in Bangkok. I might have to try online.
Really enjoyed this trip; so many things easily identified as safe for vegans, and the selection of Nature's Charm products blows me away! Thanks for posting 🙂
Here in Germany in my local supermarket we have Bibigo Vegan Gyoza - I fact I had some last night - they are nice but I suspect because of Brexit they might be more expensive in Britain.
I guess you’ve probably looked, but Sainsbury’s still do frozen edamame. Well in our local one anyway. Looks like you’ve got plenty to be getting on with. We have a wing yip an hour away. One I want to definitely try. Really interested in the natures charm bits and things.
Hey Guys, just a quickie, next time you pop into Wing Yip grab a bottle of the 'vegetarian mushroom stir fry sauce' by Lee Kum Kee or the vegan oyster sauce made from mushrooms, they are the same thing, both are vegan oyster sauce, you get the amazing umami flavour for stir fry's, rice bowls etc as I'm sure Paul knows already soooo many Chinese dishes use oyster sauce so it opens the door for so many more dishes to make at home, let us know what you think of it if you do get one please. Lots of love to you both xxx❤
I really want to shop there but it would take me just under 2 hours to get there, I’m pretty sure all frozen food wouldn’t last, how long is your journey there? We don’t have any other local similar things near me.
I have an asian place near me called Chung Wah, its ok but lacking tbh. Need a pootle over to Wing Yip. BTW, shelled edamame in farmfoods. If u have that near you Only found channel tonight, watched a few vids, subscribed too. I wanna be your neighbour!!😂 Ever in Bpool give me a nudge lol
Hi from Whitefield, why dont you try the other chinese supermarkets in Manchester for a change? The ones in Chinatown are more fun and authentic imo . x

Can I get some thumbs up for tofu. Isn't it just absolutely amazing, delicious and so versatile 💚💚💚
I really enjoyed tagging along, my mood got significantly better while watching this video :)

Absolutely fantastic xxx
Cool, just discovered a store in Kirkcaldy💖🍜Cheers too for E numbers guide👌
I know the background but would NEVER want to miss out on the car chat, as it's my favourite bit!
Love the wing yip vlogs.
Enjoyed guys
Fabulous, and the intro is well worth it, a great listen. 🧡👍
Really must take a trip to Wing Yip sometime!! Oh the hours I could spend in there 😅😂
Thanks for taking us with you! Xx
You should!
Jason getting excited in the noodle aisle 🤗
I'm the same in the FreeFrom aisle tbh, in any of the main supermarkets, as there's so much for us 🛒🙏🌱💖

Glad you have some
Could start a small vegan oriental style take away from there !
Very informative.
Great vlog. Have seen Japanese week at Lidl from 14th March. Not on of my favourite stores but might be worth a look.
Ah thanks for the heads up

Thank you for this, I've not been to Wing Yip since before I went vegan 6 years ago, but I may well head back there now 😊

Your local ones may but never assume all will. Ours don't. Trust, we've checked, many times. Tesco was it.

Totally agree!
Paul, Tesco are selling the frozen soya beans again. I bought a bag the other day ❤
Which Tesco? We've looked in both our locals, even today. Yours may.
I got frozen edamame beans this week in Asda.

"I love me bits, me" 😂 (The bits seemed a bit pricey to me, tbh, compared to, say, Tesco or Asda...)

Enjoy
I used to get the edamame from Tesco until they stopped doing it, I get it from Sainsburys now as well as frozen avocado that they do.
Just come across your channel; thanks for this! I've often said I'd get to Wing Yip because of the tofu prices, cheaper than Tesco! Great video :-)
I really want to shop there but it would take me just under 2 hours to get there, I’m pretty sure all frozen food wouldn’t last, how long is your journey there? We don’t have any other local similar things near me.

@@ThoseVeganGuys chesterfield - near Sheffield :) x
@@Ameliarv would Birmingham be nearer? There is a Chinese supermarket near you.

@@ThoseVeganGuys oh thank you didn’t know! Hopefully they do the same
Mock things you can buy. Birmingham about same distance as Manchester :) x
@@Ameliarv this was why I gave the Google tip in the vlog. You'd be surprised what can be found with simple searching.
❤
What type of tofu could I use as a substitute for cheese in a cheese cake as I used soft and did not seem right
Wouldn't know, sorry. Google?
Your self control is admirable I'd have the trolley overflowing 🙈
Also important sidenote, that video was so soothing, love the way you do walkabouts
I need to go visit very soon. I've been really struggling to find edamame in the supermarkets recently, have you noticed that too??
Yes I have

We may well do. The other one we mention has been on our radar. Do you recommend any in particular with lots of vegan options?
@@ThoseVeganGuys Theres one on george street i go to or the blue whale . They all sell the same stuff but the vibes are more authentic x
The sad stuff in every store 💔 My Lidl is particularly awful. A whole aisle of shrinkwrapped body parts. But there's death in all of them.
People telling you not to use the word that the store uses to describe itself 😔
So much more greenery than in a standard supermarket 💚🥬🥗
"Jockfruit" 😂🩲 26:55
